I had a hard time feeling a connect This was a 2.5 stars for me, and I really think that it might have been the case that I just couldn't get into it. I had a hard time feeling a connection with the hero or the heroine. I found that the heroine's personality wasn't consistant through out the book and that became very distracting to me. Another issue I had was that during the first half of the book the story was overly descriptive at times and it became somewhat too much. I would not want my opinion to sway someone from giving this story a try though. I feel that there will be a lot of readers who enjoy this story very much.
"Sins of a Bad Boy" has a lot of the things that we enjoy in a great romance book. William is a fighter, as well as an owner of a sex club/gambling club. He ends up getting a lot of money stolen, and he kidnaps the person he thinks is responsible for taking his money. This would be Ivy, and William has a tiny bit of history with her, and definitely history with her father. Once she is in captivity with him though, nothing goes a it should for William. There is major sexual chemistry between this couple, and the lines between being an enemy or a lover fade really fast.
There is a lot that takes place during this book, and the second half I found was a lot better than the first. This read is not for the faint of heart though as there are lots of scenes that have some kinky sex in them..considering a good portion takes place at a sex club, you can imagine the happenings that go on in there. If you are looking for a read that is outside of the box, then give this one a go. It comes out September 5, and for some I'm thinking this will be exactly what they are looking for.

Another scorching hot book by CD Reiss; but not only was the sex through the roof...the story was great too! I did mark it down a half a star mainly because of a certain direction the story takes...I can't elaborate; however I just didn't care for some of the story line. In saying that though, I still feel this author is brilliant...her writing is poetic..let's face it; I love everything this woman writes! I was literally on the edge of my seat I was that absorbed in what was going on! The first half of the story though; I found to be quite slow. When King and Pup were together in any of the scenes, sparks flew! Their chemistry is like a bomb detonating and I loved every single minute they were together!
There were some shocking reveals, and also some very intense and disturbing scenes. This series would not be for everyone because of some of the dark times; but I once again loved the style of this author's writing. I do have a minor complaint of some spelling and grammatical errors. There was enough that I was well aware of it and they stood out to me.
On the whole though,a great story, and I want more! LOL I can't wait for Bear's story that apparently will be coming winter 2015! Yay! He stole my heart in this one and I need to see him get an HEA!!!

This was just an ok read for me. The beginning went a little slow, and then when the story picked up, it was with a "bang!!!" The thing was though, when I pick up a dark read; I am expecting a major anti hero that is quite bad on the outside; but has this tiny light that only brightens around the heroine..In "Yours" I felt that the hero wasn't a "Bad guy" at all, he was just a guy that had to act a certain way out of circumstance. Because of that I was somewhat let down. Another issue that came up for me was there was a lot of repetition in certain statements that were being made. I can't give an example for fear of revealing parts of the story, but as I was reading I was annoyed with hearing the same kind of thoughts over and over again by the character.
This book was on the shorter side, and because of that I was able to keep reading and enjoying some scenes. It honestly isn't a book I will probably remember in a few months though. I was somewhat disappointed as I really loved Aubrey Dark's book: "His." I was so hoping that this would be just as good, if not better; but it did fall short for me. That is all I am going to say about that, and I'm crossing my fingers that my next read from this author will be much better. I loved her voice in "His" and I have faith that she will deliver another winner of a story like that in the future!...more
-- "You can either choose love or you can choose hate, because where one lives, the other will die"-
I have to say that with the "Paper Swan" I am sitt -- "You can either choose love or you can choose hate, because where one lives, the other will die"-
I have to say that with the "Paper Swan" I am sitting on the fence as to how I feel about this read. I did enjoy it, but it didn't "wow" me. There were a lot of things that happened that were very predictable, and yet I still at times had trouble putting the book down. (some buddy I was, I finished the book by staying up all night instead of waiting for my partner!!! Sorry Steph!!) I did like the authors words, and I found myself highlighting a lot of quotes that I fell in love with. I just really felt at times frustrated with some of the actions of the hero and the heroine.
I would prefer not to get into the story as I think it's best to go into this fairly blind. I didn't read a lot of reviews until after I read the story, and I have to say that I'm glad. There just are certain things that are best not known. The main one I found was not understanding fully who the hero was until a few chapters in. There was a lot of jumping from past to present, and some authors pull that off really well in a story; but a times in this one I found myself getting antsy with it. A few times I thought to myself that I'd rather get on with the present story now! Also, there was a time at about 65% where I was thinking: "why are they not together again.." One of a huge pet peeve for me is to have a story where a big portion of the time the hero and heroine are not together. That always seems to annoy me, and it certainly did in this story.
Enough with the negative though, it was not a terrible experience for me, just more an indifferent one. Kind of like I could take it or leave it! The love story that does take place, even tough predictable; was a sweet ones at times. I'm thinking I would have liked it more if we had some sweeter moments more frequently. I know this is considered on the darker side of romance; but I have read a lot of books that are waaaay more darker than this one. Truthfully, on the whole I didn't think of it as too dark. Maybe I am jaded..
All in all, I think that if you are interested in reading it, then definitely do. There are a ton of readers that fall in love with this book. It seems to be split down the middle of readers loving it or saying it was just; MEH!! So, give it a go...you may be one of the ones who fall in love with a great book!
Thank you to Steph for Buddy Reading this one with me. I'm sorry for being a bad buddy and moving on ahead! LOL (Please don't fire me as a Buddy! ;-P )...more

For the most part I felt like I was caught in the middle of a cheesy porno flick!! LOL I wish I was exaggerating; but I am not!! If I hear the "C#*t" word one more time I will scream. I love a dirty talking hero; but Jack takes his dirty talking to a whole other level, and it can only be define as crude at times.
I had high hopes for this book as I thought it might be interesting to have not only a mafia story but also a fighter one too. Kind of like a "two for one" kind of deal. But, it just didn't work out that way. I mean it wasn't terrible; but it certainly didn't wow me either.
I know Vanessa Waltz has written other mafia books, and I will for sure give at least one more a try. My fingers are crossed that maybe a different story, with different characters is something that I will enjoy way more!...more

I really enjoy the hero; Malice...and he has some friends that call themselves; "The Butcher Boys.." They are a neat group of men that grew on me right away. They all have a past of course, and I'm eager to check out each of their stories. I need to think on a review; but I just wanted to put up that I did enjoy this read, even though I did have a few little issues with it to bring my rating down a bit.

I have always loved her historical ( mainly her beloved character Ian Mackenzie!) So I thought I couldn't go wrong! I did enjoy this western like story, and I am eager to see what else the Cambell brother's will bring to the table. There is also another family that is introduced, and they are the Malory's. ( There are two chunky brothers in this family as well! So we have a ton of stupidly Texan guys to follow and I'm not complaining a bit!
This first book is about the oldest Cambell brother, Adam. He's a stuntman for the movies but comes back to his Texas roots when he is severely injured in a stunt that went wrong. Once home, he realizes that he has made some huge mistakes leaving his hometown. Not only did he leave his family, but also his first and only love Bailey. She is doing her own stunts now on his families ranch, and now that she's no longer out of reach, Adam becomes aware that she is something he may not be willing to live without ever again.
I love stories that have the strong family bonds in them. This series definitely has that and more! The brothers have a huge loyalty to one another, and they always have each other's back! This is an enjoyable, feel good romance, as well as it gives you that neat small town life style that I'm drawn to in my romances! I look forward to learning about all the other brothers and watching them fall in love!...more
I finally broke down and read this book that everyone has talked about for a long time. Or I should say that everyone has been talking about;3.5 STARS
I finally broke down and read this book that everyone has talked about for a long time. Or I should say that everyone has been talking about; Malcolm Saint!! AND ladies...I can totally understand why!! He is sexy, and quite cocky, yet he seems to have a sensitive side that is buried very deep inside of him. Being a billionaire just adds to his appeal, as well as the mysterious aura he carries around with him at all times. He is not the most open guy on the planet; but he sure knows how to make a woman scream with pleasure...phew...I want him!!! LOL Anyway, as you can tell I most certainly fell into lust with another book man! My biggest reservation came with the heroine. I just didn't care much for Rachel. In fact, I became kind of annoyed with her, and that made my pleasure with the story go down a few notches.
The story takes place in Chicago where everyone has heard of the billionaire; Malcolm Saint. The public is enamoured by him, and everyone wants to either be him, or do him..if you get my drift!! Rachel is having a rough time establishing herself as a journalist, and is offered an opportunity to possibly bump her career in the right direction. All she has to do is write a story about Malcolm; and yes; she is expected to dig deep and hopefully find some dirt! You know, make the story more exciting! In order to do this, Rachel has to find a way into his world and get close to him so that she can get some information that no one else has. Instead of being up front with Malcolm, she gets an interview with him and disguises her motives of what she is writing about. She says she is writing about his upcoming project...
The first interview was highly amusing! I loved that scene, mainly because she was so unprepared for it, and he was highly amused! Their chemistry started right off the bat and I was hooked! The problems started happening for me though when I found that Rachel's guilt and concern became very repetitious. Through out most of the story that is what she was thinking about...well...besides jumping his bones...that I totally understand!!!LOL
I also found that the first half of the book (with the exception of that first interview) was quite slow..I found myself at times skimming a bit. Once the story got going though, it was a lot more enjoyable. I also wondered a lot what it was exactly that attracted Malcolm to Rachel. Quite frankly, I found her to be so stand offish, and she really didn't seem to have a lot of wonderful qualities. He was taken with her though, and I just continuously scratched my head wondering why??!! I understood why she was so hesitant to get close to him, but I felt if she was trying to seduce him, she should have had to put way more work into it! Also, she blushed...ALOT!!! I kid you not...everytime they were together, she was blushing. So those were my complaints. On the whole though, it was a good read, it just didn't WOW me!!!
Will I continue with the series?? Yes, I will; but I have to admit that even with the cliffy, I didn't have this urge to jump right into the next book. (it is out now) Mind you, I was reminded that another book I have been waiting for was out...so my attention was caught elsewhere!!! I do look forward to seeing what will happen between Rachel and Malcolm, and let's just hope she grows up a bit and ends up more desirable as a heroine!!...more

Another excellent instalment of this dark and exciting series by Pepper Winters. This series has me captivated, and the twisted "relationship" between the mysterious and sexy Jethro and the feisty, hard to break Nila, has so much intensity and sizzle that I literally absorb every word of their interactions!
Pepper Winters has done an amazing job of creating such explosive chemistry between the hero and heroine that the reader easily forgets that these two are supposed to be enemies. It's heartbreaking to witness such a beautiful connection between these two souls and have them know that they need to hide and fight what they feel for one another.
Again we end up with even more questions and so few answers. I'm quite positive all the anticipation will pay off in the conclusion when it finally arrives!
I'm so glad I have decided to pick up this series, and I am becoming enamoured by the cold as ice man, Jethro!
This series is a must read for lovers of darker romances! Moving on to the third debt; I'm scared to know what's going to have to be paid for the third debt....more
As an avid reader it seems like it is getting harder for me to be truly touched h "We are Flame and Maddie. And We have survived."
6+ EPIC STARS!!!!!!!
As an avid reader it seems like it is getting harder for me to be truly touched heart and soul by what I read anymore. Tillie Cole has managed to reach inside of me and take a hold of my heart and make it pump to a different beat!!! I am in utter awe right now of this author's raw talent that she has exhibited with this gut wrenching story of Flame and Maddie. I can't imagine what she went through while writing this story, as I know just what kind of soul crushing pain I felt while reading it. At times it was very daunting and I didn't know if I would be able to finish it. My heart quite literally bled from the horrors that this beautiful couple went through. I have to say though that if it wasn't for the extreme traumatic and graphic scenes that we experienced through the eyes of Flame and Maddie; we probably wouldn't have felt the utter beauty of what developed between the two of them as their relationship blossomed. Having experienced such horrific lows, it made me cherish the unbreakable bond between these two characters all the more clearer. Tillie Cole brought Flame and Maddie to life in my soul, and they have made a home there for all time...I won't ever forget them. I felt every single pain and agony that they did as if I were the one living it. That is the talent of Ms. Cole; she is able to put you into a scene as if you were living and breathing it all on your own.
As far as Flame goes, I have only ever read about one other character that comes close to how tormented he was of his past. In fact, Flame and Maddie often made me think of Zsadist and Bella, who were another couple in book land who had experienced horrors that go beyond what anyone else has experienced. (and yes, I speak as if these characters are alive; because in my heart and soul they were brought to life by the talented authors who created them!) What I loved about Flame is that he had such a tough exterior on the outside; but when Maddie was finally able to get closer to learning who he really was..he had such an innocent and naïve quality to him. He doesn't think like a "normal" person, but that just made his quirks stand out even more to me. His gentleness when it came to His Maddie was just so heartwarming. I loved the scenes of them together. They were both such tortured souls who were never shown love, and yet they loved deeper than anyone else ever did. The way that Flame protected Maddie melted me as well, and while most people might say they didn't have a "healthy" relationship; I never cared...It was more than special because it is what worked for them, and them alone. No one else could understand it but the two people who were halves of each other.
Maddie impressed me so much through this story. She really came into her own. She had been so scared of life that she was known to watch it from the side lines..or I should say through the window looking down at everyone..Eventually though, she grabbed life by the balls and didn't let go. She was determined to make her own happiness with Her Flame and she went full speed ahead no matter how scare she was. I loved how she never once tried to change Flame. She accepted him for who he is, all of it..The good and then the really really bad. There is one part in the book where she came through for him in a way that I honestly hadn't thought she would have the strength to do, and from that point on she had my utmost respect.
Most readers are going to ask, "is this a hard book to read." You had better believe it is. Even though it is raw and gritty, and at times beyond horrific; it is one of those books that NEEDS to be read. Seriously, it will touch your soul. There will be no forgetting it...EVER. I am not going to lie; there are some very hard to read topics in this book. Tillie Cole has pressed the envelope in this story and she went full speed ahead and spared no gruesome detail. There were times I felt physically ill, and had to stop to take a break. But the parts that I will cherish always are between Flame and Maddie, and it made all of the horrors worth enduring, just for a glimpse of their pure love. I highly recommend this book. Actually, this series as a whole is just awesome; but this book goes way beyond what most books can ever achieve.
Tillie Cole: you are a Goddess in my eyes! You have impressed me so much with what you delivered, and I can't wait to see what you bring to the table next. You are so talented and please don't ever stop writing. It is so hard to find books now a days that touch so many people...Finding an author who has created an epic book is rare..and you my dear are a diamond in the rough, and you belong up there with the best of the best! Thank you for touching my soul, and for giving us Flame and Maddie....more

I am still hooked on this series, and this book had even more secrets revealed that kept me on the edge of my chair! I am loving Mason and Samantha's relationship, as well as the bond that she has with Logan. These three have such a bond that is developing that it is hard to imagine anyone being able to hurt any one of them. The thing with Fallen Crest though is you never know what is going to happen, or who is going to betray who next.
Samantha's reality gets rocked hard, and she is realizing that the only people she can trust is Logan and Mason. She went through a lot of emotional stresses in this installment, and I have to say that because of it she came across a lot weaker in this story. I am hoping the next book will have Samantha re-group and get some back bone happening again. My fingers are crossed! As for Mason, I love how protective he is over her, and he may not have been a great guy to girls in the past; but he is more than making up for it in his dedication to his relationship with Samantha. I am very curious about the friendship between Mason and Nate though. Something is going on their, and I'm not just talking about Nate's intensity...that guy has secrets, and I'm dying to know what they are!
Logan is still the happy go lucky party boy, that screws anything in a skirt. It's funny how I can even like him considering what a male slut he is..but underneath that he is a very caring and sensitive guy; and I really hope that there is a special girl for him before this series concludes!
These are just a few of my thoughts about this high school series! I still am amazed at how I have been sucked right into this series. I keep scratching my head trying to figure out exactly what the draw is for me to love this so much?! I will admit that towards the end of this one it did become a little bit of the same old drama, so I did become a bit bored. I think I will take a break and come back to book three; but I will definitely not be waiting too long before I pick this series up again! Tijan is absolutely an author whom I really enjoy reading her work. I can't wait to see what she brings to this series next!!!...more
"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."
I don't even know where to begin with this one. I adored this story, and"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."
I don't even know where to begin with this one. I adored this story, and yet there were times it was so hard and gruesome to read I didn't know if I had the courage to continue. It reminds me of another book I read recently where the bad is really horrific, but when the good happens...it is beyond beautiful! This was that kind of book for me, and I absolutely fell in love with Jake and Abby; even their twisted broken souls..every inch of them I savoured. Yes, they were not two healthy individuals; but in my eyes they were both warriors who had walked through the flames and had the scars to show it. Even with their trauma, that they could find one another and be able to love so deeply was nothing short of amazing to me. That they accepted each other for who they were--not just the good parts; but the parts that were down right evil at times, it just made their love that much more powerful to me.
A lot of author's have a hard time pulling off a character like Jake. One that has such a tormented soul, and is evil because of it; but allows his heart to be consumed by the love he feels for his woman. When Jake first encountered Abby, it was love at first sight for him, and it was that all consuming and possessive love that for some reason I just soak it all up. T.M Frazier does such a great job of writing an anti-hero that is impossible not to love. I enjoy her writing style as well, and I know when I read one of her books I am in for a roller coaster ride of feels. With this book, I can honestly say that I felt I had a front row seat to some of the experiences of the characters. This was not easy to be a witness to. At one point, I had to stop because I felt physically ill by what Abby had just gone through. I wasn't sure if I could get over it, however; I pulled up my big girl panties and kept reading and I'm so glad that I did. Once you hit rock bottom, there is no way but up from there! Once the upward slope came, I was satisfied with how the story went and the good feels that came along with it.
I read this story because of meeting Jake and Abby briefly in the author's other book; Tyrant. I was immediately intrigued by this man who to those who don't know him well is a monster. The few that are close to him though, know underneath the monster their is a man who love very deeply. I needed to find out more about this couple. When I realized that their book had already been written, I just had to check it out! What an experience it was. I won't ever forget this couple who were so broken, and yet when they came together they made themselves whole! This is a must read! It isn't an easy read at times; but it is so worth the heartache...believe me..I will cherish this story always, it was just so special....more
