She operates on logic and cold calculation while hiding behind the guise of a kindly grandmother. The surprising twists in storytelling kept my attention until the final page.
Are there more Maud stories somewhere? I would love to read more by Helene Tursten! I’m hooked!...more

A couple of the bad guys curse but overall, not too bad language wise. She is funny and sarcastic and falls down a lot which I find endearing in a heroine. Start with the first book “Carrots”. This is the second. I’m currently reading the third. ...more

The above I wrote when I received this book- years ago. I forgot to update my progress but I finished it in a couple days. I wish there were a hundred more books in this series. I adore F.A.T. Her constant eBay checking and outfit descriptions show she’s a girl after my own heart. ...more

How could you not love a gal like that? The main plot of this book certainly keeps you guessing and the sexual tension that builds between her and her private eye keeps you guessing as well. The end of the book just leaves you in expectation of the next installment. I have NO patience!...more

I stumbled upon the stephanie plum novels halfway thru the series and wish I had found it sooner. Each addition to the series is a treat....sarcastic witty humor...a heroine that can bumble around and eat consolation donuts but still look herself in the eye in the mirror and kiss hunky mysterious guys when she and her boyfriend are on the outs. LOVE this series....
Long story short, girl works as bounty hunter to bring home the bacon for herself and her hamster....but barely pays the bills and gets shot at a lot. And her car generally only makes it thru one or two books before getting blown up. VERY FUNNY...more

The main character, the heroine was shallow, as were the circle of friends and family surrounding her. The relationship she has and the way she practices her career seemed like a poor man's version of the mystery series by Janet Evanovich of a bounty hunter with a mysterious male counterpart. Total ripoff and not done with as much wit or humor. Very disappointing. I found one of the next books in the series at goodwill for a little more than a dollar and I decided to pass it up. It was WORK just to make myself finish THIS book. If you are a romantic book junkie and happy with shallowly drawn heroines who lust after hunky dudes and with little to know thought of figuring out the plot, than this book is probably for you. ...more
