Dean, in mourning after Sam's death, is drawn into a parallel universe where an alternate darker Sam is trying to release his Dean from hell. Well-written apart from a few typos.
Sam’s untouchable, a fortress. When he speaks, his voice echoes the coldness inside him. “Do you want to be a substitute, Dean? Is that it?” Dean’s chest hollows out, his arms, his legs, everything, as Sam’s words freeze him solid. “You’re not him. You never could be.”...more

Ban, a fifteenth century english peasant is converted to a vampire half-breed by the sadistic Sebastian, one of the old ones. 300 hundred years later, he is drawn to the crippled Lord of the Manor Nicholas. It unfolds that Nicholas is more than he seems..
'Giving himself up to the pleasure of Ban's kiss, Nicholas was unable to recall why he'd ever felt the slightest shame at this passion, merely because another male inspired it. Even in the Bible, King David's affection for Jonathan was unmistakable. Love between men happened. It happened, and it was nothing to despise or fear.'...more

Coming from BritiA hot enjoyable m/m bdsm romance between accountant Ben and bar owner Shane. I loved the banter and argument between these two guys. Coming from British author Jane Davitt, Shane's English phraseology is just perfect and writing partner Alexa Snow provides the correct American idioms for Ben. The bdsm element comes naturally without any annoying 'sir' and 'boy' thrown in.
'Benedict closed his fingers around Shane's wrist, pinning it to the table for a moment before releasing it, the action so out of the blue, so quickly over, Shane jerked with shock, his heart rate increasing. His wrist felt warm where it'd been held, a heat that pulsed through him, leaving him aching for something he couldn't have. "We agree on some things," Benedict said meeting Shane's gaze calmly. "Don't we, Shane?"
"You and me," Shane said when he could speak without his voice betraying him, "we're going to have a little chat later. Count on it."'...more

A combination of Hornblower, the Scarlet Pimpernel and Pirates of the Caribbean with a gay twist!
Written in the first person from Will's pov, this book is an m/m historical fiction set in the 1660s in the Caribbean. Will is an English Lord's son who ran away to Europe aged 16. He returns home 10 years later to be sent away again to Jamaica to start a sugar cane plantation for his father. He is drawn to the life of a buccaneer (pirate to you and me) and meets the mentally disturbed Gaston the Ghoul, a French aristocrat's son. They fall in love at first sight and become matelots (lovers). The adventure continues.. This was the love I had wondered at. This was the stuff of poetry, play, and myth. It was equally transcendent and harrowing. There was no condition that could be placed upon it. It was enduring and conquering. And I had never felt its like before.

Such great lovable characters and what incredible angst in this last episode.. Both his lives seemed to converge to a central purpose. Whether it was the Rifter, or John, or Jath'ibaye, it no longer mattered. They were all one. At the center of both of Kahlil's lives was his dedication to that single man who was his deity, ward, friend, and lover.'...more

The story is told alternatively from her pov; from Evan Walker's (her rescuer); and from Ben Parish's (her high school idol). Reads like a movie, surely someone will see the potential.
