i also feel like the bigger plot was rushed and it didnt give space to the relationships to grow, so they also felt rushed and honestly i felt no connection between them.
it’s just so…. bland? there’s no wow factor anywhere in the book. the subplot for the whole running away thing is sosigh. this had so much potential.

dane instalove bothered me and then got a bit easier. what really bothered me was that the man was obsessed and didnt even throw an i love you? she didnt say it either…not even on the epilogue which is weird but ok
calling this a one percenter mc is kinda like a joke tbf. light MC romance and that is it.
the one thing i definitely could appreciate was the breeding kink and the smut scenes that were good.
okay so i know that this is the author’s first book so i considered that before writing this review.
the story has potential but it has some problems okay so i know that this is the author’s first book so i considered that before writing this review.
the story has potential but it has some problems in my opinion:
• lack of family’s history from charlotte and the mmcs — not only that, but the characters in general lack depth… who are they individually? what do they want in life? what about their past? family? etc.
• the fact that there needs to be a “rival” female which also needs to be a bitch towards the fmc ...more

i learned this was a debut novel for this author and i think she did a wonderful job.
although this isn’t a dark romance (it has *some* dark themes) it surely grips you because of the banter, angst and sexual tension between rosie and rush — it makes you giggle and kick your feet and want to keep reading
rush is JP, obsessed and honestly so fucking romantic it made me swoon and imo, he is the one that makes the book what it is.
i had fun reading this and it was a great palate cleanser if you want a lighter read, low spice, slow burn and angsty romance.
now, my “issues” and the reason i’m giving this a 4 star:
• the bigger plot gets put into the background and it never comes back, even in the epilogue — where’s her dad? what is he planning?
• the mc aspect — it gets pretty confusing in the beginning about rush’s MC ties and i wish we could’ve gotten more information out it, especially being specific about the clubhouse name (which gets mentioned by the end of the book); maybe a few flashback scenes from his time as a brother would help, as well as making his age older in a way?
• the HEA was not long enough imo… it took the whole book for them to be together, so the least we could’ve had was a bit more groveling and some extra scenes from the epilogue or something; i also would’ve liked to see rush’s conversarion with gage and how his job will work.
in a way, i feel like this could’ve easily been a duet because we had a very big amount of information, side characters and bigger plot line that entwined.
not my favorite candice book which is a shame, because i normally love them.
the insta love between callie and blake was kinda forced, as well as theirnot my favorite candice book which is a shame, because i normally love them.
the insta love between callie and blake was kinda forced, as well as their initial connection… especially blake’s overr th top concern, i would have kicked the man out of my house so fucking fast.
i think the fact that we have two big plot points of tension and rescuing is what bothered me the most.
imo the one with the MC was unnecessary and felt forced… there was no need to show us reign and her men.
tate was a good addition to it though.
i felt that from 70% onwards is when the book really got good and had a good flow… before that, something vital is missing. ...more
