I’ve been a fan of Sigmund since I met him in The Aristocrat and I was so happy he finally has his own book. With that being said I absolutely LOVED this book! This story gave me all the old school angst filled vibes that I love in a romance story and I’m so sad it’s over. Penelope Ward absolutely out did herself with this novel and these characters will stay with me for a very long time.
“I used to wake up in the morning and wish I weren’t alive. Now I wake up and think of you—some funny thing you said or wondering when I get to see you next.”
“Please know that in no way diminishes what you and I shared, the love I have for you. You made me the man I am today. You made me capable of loving.”

Penelope Ward is the only author that can make me pull an all nighter these days and this book was SO worth the lack of sleep. I LOVED everything about the story. It made me laugh and tear up as well. One scene I had to put my kindle down to compose myself. As someone who has worked with adults that have special needs this book was extra special. Carly, Josh, Scottie, and Bubba-Hank will stay with me for a long time....more

I loved seeing Eve grow and find her passion in this story, while staying true to herself which is SO important. It was also nice to read about a male character who has autism as well. I enjoyed seeing the other couples as well. I must say the sex scenes between Jacob and Eve were SCORCHING hot and I loved the body positivity rep in this book as well....more

This has got to be one of Lauren Blakely’s steamiest books to date!! The sexual chemistry between Cole and Sage was off the charts hot to begin with and then you add the fact that they are rivals and it gets even hotter!!! I love how Sage explores her sexual side in this story and isn’t made to feel ashamed and dirty. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series! ...more

Triggers: Trauma, sexual assault (non graphic), and death.
This was my first time reading Sajni Patel and it wasn’t a bad read. I enjoy reading diverse books that showcases other cultures that aren’t my own. I knew a little about Indian tradition but this book opened my eyes in a new way. I must say the way some of the men treated and talked about the women in the name of tradition was appalling. It was nice to see the newer generation try and do away with that foolishness. We need to stop treating women as objects and servants. Let us decide what is best for us. Period.
Liya is a strong, headstrong and feisty woman. She is opinionated, loyal and defended those she cared about in a heartbeat. Jay was a nice guy and I loved how much he loved his family. Both were successful, smart and had flaws and past trauma’s they were dealing with in this story.
Jay and Liya had a first meet that was one for the books and it definitely made me laugh. These two have a rocky start but eventually the walls and exteriors start to come down which I enjoyed. My issue with the story is that even though Jay and Liya have chemistry, I needed more one on one time with them as a couple. I appreciated the scenes with the families and friends but I wanted to watch their relationship unfold and feel that connection. I did feel the ending was a little rushed but overall I enjoyed the book as a whole. I look forward to reading Preeti’s story next year....more

Enemies to lovers is starting to become my new favorite trope and Lauren Blakely did not disappoint with this story. Josh and Haven are sworn enemies, rivals and can’t stand each other or can they? The tension between these two oozed off the pages and I enjoyed every tense and aching moment. The sexy times were scorching hot as well. I loved seeing characters from the other books as well. It always nice to catch up. If you are looking for a well written, scorching hot enemies to lovers book I suggest checking this story out....more

Where do I begin?
Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have done it again. Every time I read a book written by these ladies I always say that this book topped the last book. Each story just keeps getting better and better and better. The plots are so very refreshing, especially in a genre that can tend to be stale and repetitive. The writing is FLAWLESS, the characters are relatable and you can’t help but be drawn into this story. Hollis and Elodie had a very interesting first meet and I loved the banter between the two. Elodie was sassy, assertive and took no mess. Hollis is a broody but guarded sweetheart (dibs). I must say this story was one for the books and when the other shoe dropped I was stunned. Way to rip out my heart! Keeland and Ward make magic happen each time they write a book together and this time is no different!...more

Where do I begin with my review?
Francesca is a mobster daughter who has been groomed and bred to be nothing more than a trophy wife and kept woman. Wolfe is a Senator who kind of like a white knight but rough around the edges. Wolfe and Francesca are pretty much enemies from the very beginning.
Things between Wolfe and Francesca got interesting because they both couldn’t stand each other, had already made up their minds about one another but they were trapped.
I have to Francesca was such a spitfire! She was defiant, outspoken and I loved how she didn’t back down to Wolfe. She might have been bred to be a kept woman but she was going to forge her own path. I loved it. Wolfe was rude, closed off and had a black heart all was a good reason.
This book was a VERY intense read. My heart was constantly racing because Wolfe and Francesca were so volatile, apart and together. These two kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book. As the story progresses walks are broken down and secrets are revealed. Nothing is as black and white as it seems and things become muddled.
I have to say this book was some of LJ Shen’s best work! I haven’t had a reaction this strong since reading “Vicious” two years ago. The writing was flawless, the characters were flawed but you couldn’t help root for them. I’m sad this book is over. I found myself slowing my read down just so I didn’t have to part with the characters. Well done, LJ Shen.

Especially ones where the main characters were best friends growing up. Then if you really want to reel me in you have them not like each other and add some tension along the way. So with that being said this is what I got when I read “Rebel Heart” by LK Farlow and I enjoyed the ride.
Aj and Brock used to be best friends growing up but things changed and several years later they are forced to reunite and neither one of them are happy. I loved the underlying tension between Brock and Aj. I have to say Aj, was my kind of girl because she didn’t take any mess and didn’t conform to what other people wanted her to be. You only have one life and if you aren’t hurting anyone you need to live it for you. I liked Brock and he had a lot on his shoulders. To be honest I’m surprised he didn’t have a breakdown with all the nonsense he had to deal with in his personal life.
This was a quick and fast paced read but nonetheless it was enjoyable. I loved the secondary characters, Stacia and West. I’m hoping we get a book featuring them in the future. LK Farlow has quickly become one of my go to authors and I absolutely love her stories!
