The fake dating trope has quickly become a favorite of mine. This story was fun, steamy and heartfelt. The drama was very lowkey which I appreciated. I switched back and forth with the audio and the narrator Angel Pean did an amazing job with this story!

The story felt rushed and I was expecting more depth when it came to Julian and the issues he had with his mother. I also thought Christmas was going to be a major theme of the book as well. I wanted to see how Chandra adjusted in her new position with the company. It was nice seeing past characters making an appearance and I will definitely be continuing on with the series....more

Abby Jimenez is an author that I will drop everything I’m doing to read her books. I’ve been waiting for Briana’s story since Part of Your World. Briana is everything I love in a heroine. Strong, independent, sassy and loyal. Jacob is such a cinnamon roll and definitely book boyfriend material.
As someone who deals with anxiety everyday I felt so connected to Jacob. Whenever I’m going somewhere for the first time I have to scout out the place in advance. It was even worse when I had my car and would stress over parking. ...more

What I liked: Several laugh out loud moments. Second chance romance. Fake dating. Sibling rivalry. Divya was the best kind of friend you could have! Kept it 100 the whole time.
Issues: I wanted more insight as to why Hudson and Kian broke up. It would have been nice to have glimpses of them as a couple in the past. I wanted more groveling from Hudson.
Triggers: Mentions of racism, classism, alcoholism and homophobia....more

After reading The Boyfriend Project last year I couldn’t wait to catch up with the ladies in this book.
I have to say I definitely related to Taylor in this story because I was diagnosed with a learning disorder when I was in the 7th grade. I was struggling really hard when it came to math and would have full on panic attacks (back then I had no idea why I was having a strong reaction) and start crying during my test.
My teacher would leave encouraging notes on every test that I failed because she knew how hard I was trying. When my mom came to the school she suggested I get tested, which I did and it made a big difference going forward. I had extended test times and the use of calculators on all State exams. It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Rochon presented an authentic portrayal of what it’s like living with a learning disability.
Jamar wasn’t the typical hot shot athlete that I thought he would be in this story. He had a heart of gold and I love the support he showed to Taylor when she was struggling. Jamar and Taylor had some funny and flirty banter with steamy chemistry that I loved! Now I must say a certain part of the book didn’t fly with me when it came to Jamar and I felt he needed to do just a bit more groveling after that momentary lapse in judgment.
This book was fun to read, I love the theme of supportive female friendships. We all need friends that will root for us, encourage us and check us as needed! I can’t wait to read London’s book next year and I will be sad when this series is over. ...more

This book struck home to me in certain areas and I love when I can relate to characters in a story. One minor issue for me was that I would have liked more time with Declan and Molly as a couple.
One of my favorites things about this writing duo is how the writing is so flawless. The stories always flow well and I can’t tell which author wrote what part and it doesn’t feel like I’m reading two different stories.

Daniel and Scarlet are business partners who have good chemistry, fun banter and you can cut the sexual tension with a knife. This book wasn’t all just fun and games as we learn Daniel’s backstory and it made me want to reach in and give him a big hug. That part in the book was truly heartbreaking and I was in shock. I had to listen to that part twice to make sure I heard correctly. It was also nice to catch up with Cole as well from One Exquisite Touch. Even though they are fictional characters I get attached and like to see that they are doing well.
Audiobook Review: So I ended up listening to the audiobook since it is a full cast audiobook and I LOVE those the best. The narrators did such a great job as always bringing the characters to life in this story. Shane East can narrator a washer machine manual and make it sounds sophisticated and dirty all at the same time and I love it! This was my first time listening to Vanessa Edwin and I will definitely be adding her to my list of narrators to watch out for as well. I have very picky ears and these two narrators work so well together and everything just flowed. It was music to my ears...more

This was a nice story and I love that Zaf reads romance novels. *swoons* Dani was a mess but I really like seeing her growth in this book. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I could totally relate to Zaf and the constant struggles. Some days are definitely better than others and I felt the author did an authentic portrayal. I read both books over the weekend and enjoyed reading about the Brown sisters. I low key want a book about Gigi from when she was younger. I’m going to be sad when this series is over....more

This book was one for the ages. As much as I wanted to like this book, it was a hot mess. The writing felt off and at times it felt like I was reading two different books. I wanted to really like Angel but she made it so hard with her brash personality. I felt like she needed therapy or anger management to deal with all the stress. Then we have Caleb and there was much to be desired when it came to him as well. I didn’t care for him and felt that he really didn’t redeem himself enough for me as I read. There was one scene at the end but it felt so out of character and forced.I honestly didn’t feel a connection between Caleb and Angel as I read. Then there were side stories that were way over the top and made me cringe. I appreciate the light being shown on children with asthma in the Bronx, I grew up there and developed asthma later on. For that reason alone I will be giving this book three stars. ...more
