I feel like a broken record at this point but Penelope Ward can do no wrong in my eyes. This book had me ALL in my feels. Like eyes tearing, heart in my throat, did I just read that? Let me read this part again because this can’t be happening. Ward has a very unique way of writing characters that I can’t help but fall in love with and all I want for them is to be happy. This book gave me everything I need in a romance novel and I’m so looking forward to reading Atticus and Nicole’s story next.

Felicity and Leo had a very interesting first encounter and after that I knew this book was going to be good read! I saw a lot of myself in Felicity when it comes to keeping people at a distance to avoid heartbreak and disappointment so I was her own personal cheerleader when she finally decided to take a chance with Leo.
There were so many layers to Leo and I loved the relationship he had with his Nan. Felicity and Leo had an instant but believable chemistry that made me heart ache when the inevitable happened. Sig was a perfect wingman who made me crack up when needed.
This book had it all and one of my favorite things is the way it made me think about some of my own life choices and I how I need to take more risks.
It’s no secret unless you been living under a rock that Penelope Ward is a favorite author of and I legit devoured this book in a few hours after saying I would take it slow. ...more

I didn’t really care for him if I’m being honest. As expected there is a twist that I didn’t see coming and I liked the way it was handled. It wasn’t dragged out and was handle in a mature adult manner. If you’re looking for a low angst single parent romance look no further. Hazel wasn’t happy and knew she needed to make some changes in her life. I enjoyed following along her journey. Along her travels she meets Matteo and they embark on a road trip. I loved the banter between Hazel and Matteo. Their chemistry was hot and I loved the way they encouraged each other to take chances. I really enjoyed this story because I got to witness the growth of Hazel’s character. This book had a little bit of everything I enjoy in a contemporary read and I definitely recommend it.

Caleb and Teagen had a rocky start but eventually they became friends and slowly lovers. I loved the slow delicious burn of this story. I felt every single emotion between Caleb and Teagen. I laughed and ached right along with them both while reading. You could cut the tension between them with a knife and these are the books that I enjoy the most. Caleb and Teagen brought out the best in each other once they let their walls down and it was such a beautiful thing to see.
Ward writes about characters that are flawed but so relatable. Reading this story definitely hit close to home and I just wanted to wrap my arms around Caleb while reading. Ward has a special talent of writing unique and refreshing stories which is why she is one of my favorite authors. I have never been disappointed after reading her books.

First off let me say that I loved Ireland! She was sassy, assertive and took no mess. I also like that she didn’t let her past define her and made a name for herself.
“Seven years ago, my own heartbeat stopped, and today mine found its purpose again.”
My heart broke for Grant in this story. I knew he was guarded for a reason but I wasn't expecting that twist at all. It truly broke my heart.
This story was more on the emotional side since both characters had a tough start in life. I did enjoy reading the story but there was one part of the story that was in my opinion slightly predictable. Overall this was a good read that had me hooked from start to finish and I would recommend.
I’m so sad this book is over. I read as slow as I could but I wish I could re read for the first time all over again.

I’m so sad this book is over. I read as slow as I could but I wish I could re read for the first time all over again.
“We all have light and dark inside us, love. We try to hide the darkness from others because we’re afraid it will scare them away. But your dark doesn’t scare me, Luca. It only makes me want to hold your hand and be your light until you can find your own again. That’s what people do when they’re in love. I won’t always be able to give you your light back, because sometimes you need to find that within yourself , but I’ll stand by your side and hold your hand in the dark so things aren’t so scary.”
I absolutely loved Griffin in this book. Luca suffers from crippling anxiety due to a past traumatic experience and can’t be in small places and large crowds. I loved how this book touched on anxiety issues especially since I suffer from anxiety as well. Griffin was so supportive and understanding and I loved the love he had for Luca.
My heart broke for Luca as I read this story because she has been through so much in her short life. I admired her strength and courage in this story. I also loved how when Griffin came on to the scene that Luca was magically all better. Her journey and transformation was authentic and real which I appreciated.
I have read many books written by Ward and Keeland and their stories just keep getting better and better. Name a better writing duo? I’ll wait! But on a serious note this story was flawlessly written as always. I love that you can't tell who wrote which scenes. I have also read their solo books and to this day I can’t figure it out. This story features characters you can’t help but love, cheer, cry and root for while reading....more
