The 13 hour book is way too loonnngg. There are many summations of different forms and the fluff inside the sentences is annoying. The relationship between Pam and Amelia is a pointless distraction. The watchmaker appears, completely unrelated to the story. The plot is not simple and it's not evident until near the end. I skipped large portions and I was disappointed....more

As the title suggests, the premise is quite disturbing, however the book worked and is pretty good. It only works for the good guys if we assume that POTUS will react as he does in the book. I suspect that not all will do so. There are some far right assumptions. This book just kinda ends and the next one takes off. I suspect that the editors like to sell more books that way. Not fine literature, but a thought provoking read.

This 23rd story of the series has all the characters, WMC and a bad guy or two. After Cindy writes a book about a criminal, another one grabs her and the crew spends the rest of the time trying to get her back. It's incredulous that FBI would send agents into the field without knowledge of the background Decker and Jameson didn't possess when they arrive on the scene. First half of the book, they're just flopping around and stepping on local prerogative. And of course, the FBI doesn't do murders as it's a matter of state law. Set in North Dakota, I wondered why agents from the local office (wherever that is) didn't handle the problem. Does FBI DC have field agents or do they just set policy. At the end, there's some clean up, but in my opinion, way too many murders happen in that very small town. Book is over rated at two stars....more
