He has moved there after he retirement from the police force. The acting chief of local police plus a real estate broker, Alex Sharp is substituting while their deputy chief is out on maternity leave plus the department investigator is away. A local resident is killed in a hit and run accident so the acting chief is requesting Bill to help with the investigation. Was this an accident or was the dead man deliberately run down? As reluctant as Bill is to dive into the acting chief’s request, the investigation skills he developed throughout the years plus no suspects peaks his curiosity into overdrive. He becomes involved in helping solve this well plotted situation. The author has a real flair for descriptive scenes. The reader will feel as if they are right there in the mountains, valleys and hiking trails. I enjoyed meeting the colorful, relatable, well crafted characters. I found this book intriguing, suspenseful, full of twists and turns. I found the storyline riveting from the first word until the last word. I volunteered to read the Mountain View Murder. This is book # 1 in the Wintergreen Mystery series. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is voluntary and my own. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I found it interesting following the characters backstories in depth along with the present. All the characters had opportunities and motives. Complicated character which are well fleshed out, well created and intriguing. The romance was just the right touch…A well put together story that will hold your interest from beginning to end (with) twists and turns that will surprise you and a great ending. Combine a real estate agent who is a widow, and has two cats, Trixie Beldon and Watson plus loves detective stories with a real life detective who is the lead investigator, Detective Joe McAlister in the murder of Al Capelli, owner of Capelli Builders. Joe came from Baltimore. Helen notices he’s handsome and single, she says she’s not interested. Helen is a devoted mystery lover with favorites being Nancy Drew, Agatha Raisin, Nora Charles, Jessica Fletcher, and Miss Marple. Helen’s Detection Club was always in her mind using the sleuthing talents of each of her favorite sleuths to solve the murder. A fun recommended read.
