His depictions of Anakin and Obi-Wan were fantastic and I loved how he developed the world of Cato Neimoidia.
However, my biggest problem was simply that the story was based off a throw away line and had to slot in an already complete story (the Clone Wars). It meant it felt a bit insubstantial and was very hard to really care about the story (at least the characters were great).
I'm really interested in seeing any future work Mike Chen contributes to the Star Wars universe as I believe it could be absolutely superb....more

Good: - Seeing the Jedi, the Jedi Council and Republic before the prequels and after The High Republic books - Yoda! And his voice actor - There's definitely some cool and fun scenes - Connections to other media and lore
Bad: - First person narration by Asajj, it drove me nuts. "I do this", "I hear this", "I open this". Just felt like weak writing.
- The audio drama format. This is my second Star Wars audio drama and it had very similar problems to the first one. Sometimes it is just hard to follow what is going on in a scene and I end up quite confused. In visual media you can see what's happening and in a book (and audiobooks) it describes what's happening/who exactly says what. Here sometimes things are implied by a sound or you mix up some character's voices and it just doesn't always work.
- The story just didn't have me hooked or caring about anyone. I was so excited to learn about Dooku's history and I came out not giving a crap. It's very forgettable.
- Too short and wanted so much more. There were so many more things about Dooku that I wanted explored, especially things from after this story and before the prequels. I get some of the stuff I want could come in a sequel (if that ever happens) but I felt like it could have been included here if it was going to be as short as it was.
- Dooku's voice. I get it'll be different from the actor in the movies or the Clone Wars but if it's a full audio production I'd expect at least something close, this was more what I'd expect from a simple audiobook where one person is reading the story....more

It also really makes me want to delve into the worlds of slice-of-life and comfort fantasy stories.
I highly recommend this story as an audiobook. Travis Baldree narrates it himself and does a wonderful job....more
