One of the best yet! Met my reading goal of 40 books after two years of just falling short, with a 445 page average and 3.9 star average (overall read more pages than last year despite reading less books, which I guess is proof that my attention span isn't completely gone). My reading pace definitely lulled during the semesters, then I found lots more motivation over summer and at the very end of the year. Twas the year of discovery since I found and fell in love with MANY new favorites.
Favorites — - Red Rising Series by Pierce Brown, particularly Morning Star and Dark Age (sci-fi dystopian greatness with fantastic characters) - Jade City by Fonda Lee (gritty gangster family drama in East-Asian inspired city) - Peaches and Honey Duology by R. Raeta (intimate and epic romance with immortal beings) - The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow (riveting short story about love and devotion) - Phantasma by Kaylie Smith (surprisingly addictive romantasy)

Lots of life changes and new beginnings, not as much time or motivation to read. This is the first time I fell short of my yearly reading goal but I'm not gonna be too hard on myself lol.

Found many new favorite books and defined my reading taste more clearly, wheras last year I was new to reading and was in a heavy YA fantasy phase (that left me with mediocre ratings and little satisfaction). About real life, returning to some of the pre-pandemic normalcy gave me more peace of mind and I've made a lot of new, wonderful friends this year.

I read 96 books from April - End of the Year, which is slightly less than 39,000 pages! My avg rating is 3.5, hence my rating here.
