Literally giggling and kicking my feet on the beach as I breeze through this and all I can say is OH MY GODD. Finally, some (say it with me) #Justice4Charlie. Speaking of Every Summer After, this was a close, if not better, contender. I saw so much of myself in Alice and watching her confidence blossom was so so inspiring. Her and Charlie complimented each other perfectly imperfectly and I guarantee you, your cheeks will be sore from smiling ear to ear as you unravel their story....more

Somehow, Beyond Reasonable Doubt perfectly tows the line between unfolding a mystery and the tense, chaotic realm of trial. Keera once again is an absolute baddie that's always one step ahead, and I enjoyed seeing her operate mostly separate from her father in comparison to the first book, yet still witnessing how this case propels their relationship dynamic between the lines. Jenna also seemed like a "risky" choice as a client to follow due to how unlikeable she is (Elizabeth Holmes is that you) but how Keera ultimately breaks through Jenna's facade and domineers her defense is highly satisfying for the reader towards both parties. Can't wait for book three!!!...more

At first I was wary that the story was aimless but then once shit started escalating, I immediately predicted the ending (which made sense but pissed me off regardless) so this didn’t hit hard for me, even though I appreciated the skillful use of POV in describing the scenes and how the protagonist being an untrustworthy narrator gave the story more depth. A Flicker in the Dark is objectively a really solid debut with lots of layers and clues to the mystery, despite it being a bit lengthy, though I was a bit disappointed in how it played out....more

I loved Marcellus and Tovas' relationship and Cameron’s growth that we witness. I only wish the truth to the mystery was more clearly given but I suppose the more ambiguous ending is befitting to Tova's journey with grief towards the end. Really really enjoyed this, even though it's not what I normally reach for....more
