Danielle has found some redemption with this in one of the few trope-y romantasies to catch my attention. The plot was more climactic yet also boring since Bjorn and Freya are already in love and its just a matter of waiting until the conflict ends for them to essentially be together? But still a fun time~...more

I honestly thought this would be a silly whimsy read, given the playfulness of the world, but their relationship and tension was SO GOOD. They truly did the most to be with each other and it was equally amusing and emotional to see. The added POV's here definitely amped up the stakes and Apollo's clear antagonistic presence was the icing on the cake on making you root for Evajacks. Call me delulu but I don't understand the Apollo hate!! This really is the best, most action-packed book in the series and I am so so glad that it ended on a high note....more

The plot didn’t progress as much as in the other books but I did love the focus on repairing relationships. Can’t wait for book 4 with the new special guest ...more

Fourth Wing has all the workings of a hit, action-packed YA novel of the early 2010’s. . . plus smut and of course, dragons. I absolutely sped through this despite its flaws.
The setting was by far the best part. A war college for dragon riders? With multiple challenge sequences and a cutthroat environment that’s also Love Island for a bunch of hot people who could die at any moment? It’s so Divergent Dauntless and so dramatic. ...more

The pacing was phenomenal, the characters felt very fleshed out and purposeful, and the romance was top tier. It wasn’t as gothic and intense as I’d been led to believe but I guess that makes sense since it’s YA. Can’t forget to mention how the audiobook narrator did a phenomenal job (her voice for Death had me feeling some type of way…). Still not super into how this was stretched out into a series since this felt fairly concluded but I’ll prob pick up the sequel. ...more

From the fast pace, well developed romance, and an explosive ending that really brought the whole story up a notch, I just couldn't get enough. I’m surprised that this managed to blow me away given the high expectations set with The War of Lost Hearts but wowwww.
Now I shall wait impatiently until I can get an ARC of the sequel (through any means necessary)......more
