The rivals turn lovers trope was very well done. The anger makes perfect sense and not shallow or wrongly done. Their relationship was rooted towards sex, however, it didn’t overshadow their connection. They have one of the hottest sexual encounters and best chemistry. There was heat and angst everywhere and despite all that, they still take their time before they actually get together. I really appreciate these thoughtful touches because this is what readers want.

And as I passed 45% where they get into the sexual stuffs, I find their dynamic a bit de-stimulating because I couldn’t feel their chemistry at all. They talked a lot and had deeply know each other but it just didn’t work for me. The constant endearments also didn’t help and the sex were just numb to me. I skimmed most of it.

They communicate so well and they really get to know each other (in detail), but the daddy/little scene is lacking. Most of the time they were in the scene, I didn’t feel like reading one. Mylo didn’t feel like a little sometimes. More like a middle if you ask me.

This was just as amazing as book #1 and I really am enjoying this series so far. I love how diverse these books are and this one has a trans MC!!! Although this wasn’t as giddy as Garbage I really adore the writing; it was enjoyable, funny and entertaining at best. It was very difficult to put down.
Oliver and Ben’s love is not your typical romance. Oliver is a male AI that doesn’t have a body so they both had to navigate their romance in unconventional ways. Despite all that, Ben consistently supported Oliver throughout. If that’s not pure love then idk what is. It was emotional reading Oliver’s longing to physically touching Ben and the dreams of having a body. And every time Oliver wanted to try something different, Ben followed and supported him. When the flashbacks came it felt so dreadful I had tears in my eyes. The pain Bodhi was in his entire life and the buildup to every relapses, I can’t handle it. Every single time, I silently beg for it to stop. I had to stop to read and everytime I picked it back up, I cried. Bodhi’s “One and done”, “One more time.” haunted me…I don’t think I’ll recover.
I desperately want Bodhi to be real so I could hug him real tight. And If I could hug people like Bodhi, I would.

I think the flashbacks compliment the storyline. It kinda help with the gloomy and sadness vibes too. However, the first 40% was a bit repetitive. This book also focus more on sex rather than emotional connection so if it’s not your cuppa, just leave it be. (because it does gets bad)

I wish things were different. The ILY was said too fast and their connection didn’t feel strong at all. Jules claimed Bodhi since the beginning, but there was no solid reasons on why. It was pointless. He was possesive, but with no backstory on why and how, I found him quite annoying. There were push and pull in their relationship, but it wasn’t at all entertaining. There was no progress of their relationship until like 80% and it wasn’t even a slow burn. I also think Jules was quite pushy and his character was bland. Their relationship was one of the weakest I’ve ever read. The execution could have been done way better imo.
