There heroine came off kind of ditzy when the author was going for feminine and super girly. My biggest issues was all the !!!! exclamation points all through the dialogue and inner thoughts, it came off as overly happy and made the characters sound immature. It was still an enjoyable read overall though, I hope the author keeps writing and tries a little more of her own style with her next book. The hero wasn't as alpha as a KA book, he was a little too nice for that....more
I liked the story but I felt cheated by the ending, it felt like we missed a chapter where the lead couple determined how much they loved each other wI liked the story but I felt cheated by the ending, it felt like we missed a chapter where the lead couple determined how much they loved each other while actually talking to each other and we don't really know if they are mates yet or what the heroine decided about moving to him or what happened to her job. The last part was from Cyn and Raphael's POV that showed us that Vincent and Lana are together but we definitely were missing details. Before this, the story was pretty decent, not as good as Cyn and Raphael especially romance-wise but the action was pretty good.
Maybe we will get more closure in a future short story? I hope so....more
I am not quitting this book because of the writing quality but because I am just not a fan of some of the tropes in this book - mainly because both leI am not quitting this book because of the writing quality but because I am just not a fan of some of the tropes in this book - mainly because both leads are too screwed up for me (I can handle one but both of them is too much), I am not a fan of their completely sex based relationship (I know, I am sure this changes eventually but it just leaves me cold), both of the leads are kinda slutty and the biggest issue - the hero is way too hung up on his deceased wife. I just wasn't enjoying it so I decided to cut my losses and quit....more
