Bree is back but fractured. She has to find her path forward. But there are so many obstacles in her way. She is so incredibly strong and she’s hands down one of my favorite fmcs of all time.
I had no idea where the hell this love triangle was going but when I read ”So drown.” my soul actually left my body.
I love love loved!!! the multiple povs we got in this. The world expanded so much and I love every single character.

I have been mostly avoiding books that tackle grief after my father passed. I didn’t - and don’t, really - want to feel those seemingly insurmountable feelings of grief and loss. but tracy and bree brought me to a place where I was able to feel those feelings in a safe and empowering place. not only is grief handled with such care in this book, but so was intergenerational trauma. bree is navigating so much pain, anger, and loss of not only her mother, but her entire matriarchal line.
bree is probably one of my favorite fmcs ever. she is flawed, angry, empathetic, and so incredibly strong. the character arc and the way this story flows literally made me not able to put it down. when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about reading it.
I loved this book. I can’t wait to continue Bree’s journey. I’m speechless. This book was everything.

When Ophelia’s mother dies, her and her sister, Genevieve, need a way to pay off her debt. And when Ophelia realizes that her dear sister ran off to phantasma- the trials of hell- to do so, she does what big sisters do and goes after her.
But Ophelia needs help to survive, so she enters a blood bargain with Blackwell, a phantom living in the manor without his memories. And so begins the deadly game.
I started this last night, and could not stop thinking about it. I NEEDED to finish it. Blackwell and Ophelia were addicting af.
I’m a slut for trials, and the stakes were so high in this. I’m not a horror girl, but this book was spooky, gorey, and so much fucking fun.
The plot was engaging, the romance was scorching, and I am thoroughly obsessed.
Ophelia’s character development and strength were soooo good. And I cannot even begin to describe how obsessed I am with Blackwell. His mouth? I’m honestly surprised this is trad pubbed bc holy shit the spice.
I can’t wait for Genevieve’s story!!! I’m counting down the minutes.

Honestly the tension and build up was so fun. But once she found out who he was, this book deflated so fast for me. There was nothing going on but planning and the fallout from the betrayal that just wasn’t high enough stakes for me.

But when a book series is expanding the literal world, lore, magic system, villains, etc, I just couldn’t keep up with all of those additions AND more povs. It was so choppy and I kept getting whiplash and wishing I was with different characters in certain povs. While it felt fast paced at times, I really slogged through it.
I think I’m going to take a break from this series until it’s complete bc these cliffies are killing me.

this one takes place immediately after the events of book 2 which I super appreciated (especially after that cliffhanger). I also loved that we got multiple povs and added in lovia and tuonen’s. which was necessary because of how hanna and tuoni escape.
for the sake of spoilers and not wanting to give too much away, I really enjoyed seeing hanna and tuoni experience new things. but the whole time I wanted to get back to lovia and tuonen because that’s where all the action was.
the ending is actually wild and I can’t wait until the next one!

What the hell?? Why isn’t everyone reading this rn??? It’s the perfect smutty spooky season paranormal book I’ve read in so long.
“Can I take you out again?” he asks, and my stupid black heart grows a little bit. “Maybe,” I say. He doesn’t smile. He leans over the bed and cups my jaw. “I wasn’t playing last night, Blair. I want to spoil you, take care of you, make you come so fucking hard you can’t think. No games.” “Yes, I would like that.” “There’s my sweet good girl, only for me though, Blair. You can be mean to everyone else.”
Blair is bad bitch and I absolutely loved her. After being cheated on, she’s vows to get revenge on her ex in a non-magical way so she doesn’t get into trouble with the witch counsel. So the obvious solution is to fuck his dad, Dax, who is HOTTEST demon (sorry Wrath) I’ve read. While this book was smutty, there was also a great plot with Dax needing to hunt down a demon possessing bodies in Blair’s town.
I loved every second of this book. It’s hilarious, hot, and such a fun spooky season read. There’s also a scene for my Salacious Players Club fans that was ...more

This book was everything I wanted it to be. There was suspense, romance, action, and a twisty plot. The spice was h o t and Leon’s character was amazing.
My only problem with this book was Rae’s character at points. The “curiosity” just felt like an excuse for her to do dumb sh!t. She claimed to be into the occult but when she’s faced with an actual demon and a town full of cultists she’s like na it’s fine. Her decision making pissed me off at points. And we were OWED a scene for after she (spoiler) gave her soul to Leon, okay??
Overall this book was very entertaining. I loved the way Harley handled bisexuality in such a way that it didn’t feel forced but totally normal (as it should be).
I heard Zane and Juniper’s story is even better so can’t wait to jump into that ...more
“Tell me every dark desire, Emilia. Every fantasy you wish to come true. And I vow to make every one of them happen.”
Well, I’m sore2✨ (spoiler free)
“Tell me every dark desire, Emilia. Every fantasy you wish to come true. And I vow to make every one of them happen.”
Well, I’m sorely disappointed. After 2 books full of questions, curses, and wicked political games, this is was the conclusion?? I was bored. I had to force myself to sit down and actually read it.
We get the answers we’ve been waiting for. But you would think 3 books later Emilia would have grown up and become less naive. Nope!!! Just because she has powerful magic doesn’t mean she’s a powerful fmc, and I wish Maniscalco understood that.
The pacing of this book was awful. I feel like the last 50 pages were extremely boring. There were no epic battles. The political schemes between houses and species were even missing. The “villain” reveal from the end of book 2 was completely underused and I really hated how that all played out.
There is also a very common YA fantasy romance trope that happens in this book that I don’t want to give away since it’s a new release. However, I am so mad that Maniscalco put this in the book, regardless of the ending. The feminist in me was screaming.
Wrath was great but honestly I was even underwhelmed by him. The romance that we’ve all been waiting for for 2 books was steamy, yes, but I felt like his actual character got completely watered down.
So, the plot and pacing weren’t great. Emilia annoyed me. Wrath was boring. The villain was lame. I really was super disappointed in this conclusion. Maybe my expectations were too high. I do feel like Maniscalco is 100% setting up another series in this world though. Maybe I’ll give it a shot if it happens. There are enough supernaturals and princes of Hell for her to write more. Maybe she’ll commit to writing actual wicked characters next time....more
