rosalina has never felt at home. and when he father seems to be in danger, she stumbles into a rose bush that’s actually the entrance to the fae realm. and then takes the place of her father as the prisoner of the four cursed fae princes.
this was a good introduction to the world. I do feel like a lot of it was build up and world building vs plot. I kept waiting for the reveals and the big moments, but I stayed invested most of the time.
Dayton, the summer sunshine prince, is my obvious fav. He’s also a fuckboy and it’s just so fun. Farron is the soft spoken book worm and he was cuuuute. I’m super intrigued by Ezryn and I can’t wait to see more of him. And KEL the grumpy winter prince. WHAT DID YOU DO?!?
honestly jumping right into book 2 bc I need to see how they’re gonna grovel. ...more

The training and ignorance really bored me. I didn’t connect with any of the characters, and the insta connection didn’t do it for me. I felt like there was zero character development and the characters felt shallow and one dimensional to me.
The premise is really intriguing and the ending was wild but it wasn’t enough to keep me engaged and rooting for the main characters.
This started off great. Right into the action, tension, violence, all good.

I loved the dystopian, villainous religious society that’s the big bad. I even loved Zabriel.
However, Isavelle was insufferable. I understand she has religious trauma and her whole world was uprooted when she realized she was an omega with a fated mate. But girl. Be a little more open-minded? Be a little KINDER????
I’m def curious where this series is going and I’ll try book three but man did I dislike her. ...more

misery gets sent off to marry lowe, alpha of the werewolf pack. it’s enemies to lovers, hate to love, and marriage of convenience in the best way. while she was sent there by her father, she has other reasons for wanting an inside look at the pack.
this book is full of tension, twists and turns, and was generally such a fun read. I love paranormal romances and ali’s debut was done in such a cute and ali way. and yes, lowe is big and grumpy and hates everyone but her.
misery’s development and learning to trust those she was taught to hate most were some of my favorite parts. I’m a sucker for the found family trope and it was done so well!
lowe is a big grump and misery slowly learning to understand him and the two of them opening up to each other? chef’s kiss.
the tension was soooo good!! and when they finally get together? omfg.

I don’t know what it is bc I LOVED pirates of the Caribbean when I was younger but no one ever compares to Elizabeth and Will???
Anyway this was fine. There was some yummy enemies to lovers tension in the beginning that quickly devolved into insta lust and I feel like the plot was so weak. The twist at the end was foreshadowed so glaringly I wasn’t shocked or excited whatsoever.
First alien smut book ever??? How did I last so long without grumpy, possessive, dominant alien dick???? I couldn’t tell you.
This book was so much fuFirst alien smut book ever??? How did I last so long without grumpy, possessive, dominant alien dick???? I couldn’t tell you.
This book was so much fun. Jade is captured by some reptilian aliens and crash-lands on a strange planet. Running through the woods for her life, she finds herself in a alien culture not too different from our own except the males literally go to husbandry school, are HAPPY to wait on females left and right, and females hold literally all the power. Ugh yes gimme!!! Enter Theo, the scarred, damaged, bad boy alien whom Jade chooses to marry, because she has to get married for a minimum of 3 months to immerse herself in their culture. At first he thinks she’s a spy sent to betray him, but when Theo finally opens up to her MY HEART I love him sm.
The world building is fun, the smut is hot, the culture is oh so satisfying. I didn’t love the 3rd person pov and it was a little rushed towards the end, but overall I had a blast.

Black Rose is the conclusion to the Dracula duet. After the events of book 1, the story picks up 21 years later.
This book was way more than a spicy fantasy/paranormal romance. Karina’s writing moved me in a way that was unexpected but also so incredibly beautiful. Valtu’s grief wholly changed him, and watching his and Rose’s relationship develop under different circumstances than book 1 was so poignant and powerful. Because of past mistakes, the two of them are set on a different path this time around. I have never read a reincarnation book before, and I think it’s a new favorite trope of mine. I loved it so much.
This book touches on not only enduring love but also grief. Considering my recent experience with loss and my ongoing journey in grief, this book was so cathartic. I was a little apprehensive going into it because of my recent life circumstances, but it spoke to me so deeply. I could feel Karina’s own experiences with grief and loss while reading as well. If you have gone through a loss of a loved one, I think that this duet is going to be a perfect escape. It was for me.

Thief of Sorrows is an epic debut novel. Isolde is the Hood, a thief and assassin working against the bigoted king. But she is also the heir to Thornwood manor. Her story starts off with a bloody heist, and fully takes off from there and does not stop.
After killing a slimy lord, the king sends in his right hand, Gage, and the captain of the guard, Liam, back into Isolde’s life. While being groomed as heir, she is learning the moves in political games that she can’t even grasp; while working as the Hood, she faces danger at every turn. But the king has things planned for her—as heir and the hood—that she’s not prepared for.
This book was such a ride. Not only is the magic system and world building so intriguing, but the found family of thieves, assassins, and outcasts are also so so good. Isolde is SO BAD ASS. Literally can take on several magic wielders and barely break a sweat. She is strong, powerful, sassy, and my favorite type of fmc. While there is a little romance in this book, I fully expect it to take off later in the series. This debut is mostly about her journey and the found family she’s created. I would say that romance is subplot at this point but according to the world building, mates are a thing and she hasn’t found hers yet ...more
