Yet another p After having finished The Ex and fallen head over heels in love with Alafair Burke, THE WIFE was an obvious choice for my next read.
Yet another page turner from an author who I became an insta-fan of in under 5 mins! I am not sure what I love more about her books - the fact that they make me eat up pages at record speed because the story is so good and writing is very smooth and super engaging or the fact that they make me learn something because of author's own legal background.
THE WIFE was simply UNPUTDOWNABLE! I found myself reading through the night because I HAD to find out whodunit. This book is yet another example why I LOVE to read. These are the kinds of stories that make me not regret a single penny or minute spent on them.
If I had to choose right now which I book I loved more, I don't think I could do it. Both (THE EX and THE WIFE) were absolutely fantastic in their own right.
As I read this title, I kept thinking how much I would love to see it on a big screen and, upon further sleuthing on author's site, was THRILLED to discover that this book is, in fact, being made into a movie by Amazon studios!!! *flails uncontrollably*
THE WIFE is psychological suspense at it's finest! An absolutely MUST READ if this is a genre you enjoy.

I remember buying it because I thought the cover was gorgeous. I didn't even read the blurb. I just assumed it will be a decent second chance romance or something along those lines and, if nothing else, I'll own a pretty looking book.
Boy, was I wrong! And am I ever pissed at myself for not reading this sooner!!
I devoured THE EX in pretty much one sitting. This almost NEVER happens. I am talking "couldn't wait to ditch the New Years Eve party I was at so I could get back home and read some more"!
This riveting, exquisitely written legal thriller grabs you on page one and doesn't let go till the very end. I couldn't get enough of the strong characters and the story line that was full of twists and had me guessing till the very last few pages. Not to mention all the legal jargon that was on point courtesy of author herself being a law professor and ex-Deputy District Attorney, among other things.
I usually have the hardest time finding heroines that leave a lasting impression. This wasn't the case with Olivia Randall. I'd love to read about her more and was over the moon to discover that she has appeared in a couple of more titles of Ms. Burke's that I am off to read ASAP!
There was so much more I wanted to say in my review but, as usual, I can't find all the right words to express everything I feel. And besides, even if I could find the words, I could never put them in coherent enough sentences to do this book justice anyways so I won't even try.
In a nutshell: if you ever picked up a book based on one of my recs in the past and enjoyed it, trust me on this one, OK?
P.S. The ending of this book had me grinning like a loon. You'll get why if/when you read the book.
It’s official: I am OBSESSED with Lisa Gardner’s work. She writes movies, for crying out loud!! I mean, her stories literally jump off the pages. Not It’s official: I am OBSESSED with Lisa Gardner’s work. She writes movies, for crying out loud!! I mean, her stories literally jump off the pages. Not to mention THE WAY SHE WRITES ... good God! Her characters are perfection. Flawed. Real. Just the kind of characters I love to read about. And the way she keeps you guessing!! You don’t know whodunnit till the last few pages ... these kinds of books, to me, are worth every penny.
P.S. As one of THE pickiest people when it comes to leading ladies, I am THRILLED to discover an author who gave me two kickass females leads to add to my very short list of ultimate favourite heroines: D.D. Warren and Tessa Leoni. I can’t get enough of these ladies and want to read every available book featuring them. IMMEDIATELY!!...more

From the writing to the story, from the characters to all the feels ... I don't think I'll ever get over the book hangover that followed once I finished this book and is still very much present, weeks later. I can't recommend TRANSCENDENCE enough. Even if fantasy isn't your thing, all you have to do is sample this on Amazon to realize how special this author and her writing is.

I can't thank my friend Joanne enough for recommending it. If you enjoy exquisitely written, original material then give this a go. Even if fantasy isn't your thing, read it! This is truly one of those reading experiences that is not to be missed!

For the last week or so, I was lost to the world because I was too busy basking in the beauty of L.S. I am also nursing one hell of a book hangover and don't even care for a cure ...

I think Annabel Joseph is an author who gets better and better with each and every one of her new releases. DEEP CONTROL is now my favorite book of hers to date. I devoured this story that delivered on every single point in my checklist: superb writing, character(s) depth, amazing supporting cast, raw sexuality which was only magnified tenfold by all the feels the author delivers. Always! I am a sucker for great dialogue and this book simply blew me away. The exchange between characters (any of them!) was fantastic. I can't think of one single thing about DEEP CONTROL that I didn't love.
I am now not-so-patiently waiting for Milo's story ...

When it comes to BDSM genre, my go-to authors are so few that I can count them on one hand and still have fingers left over. Annabel Joseph happens to be one of those few. She always manages to deliver the story that hits you right where it counts: in the feels. This book was no exception. Perfection from star to finish, Fort and Juliet's journey was so full of emotions - on both sides - that I couldn't help but shed quite a few tears and I regret nothing! I am not sure if most will find this story cry-worthy, however, Annabel's brilliant ability to mix kink with feels is what usually brings out all these emotions [in me].
With each and every one of Annabel's new releases I say 'This is my new favorite!' but this book truly is! I mean, having been a fan of this author for years now, I am simply blown away by the writing and how flawless it was in this book. It just flowed. Everything about this story was fantastic, including the dialogue that was absolutely brilliant! I couldn't put Dark Control down and read it in one sitting.
PLEASE NOTE: the sex scenes in this book, even though consensual, won't be for everyone. This isn't 'pink furry cuffs/spank my bottom' type BDSM content. If you are open minded enough not to judge, especially something you may not understand or might not be your cuppa, then by all means go ahead and try this book. If not, there are plenty of other authors/genres out there for you to enjoy.
I am now counting weeks till Devin's story because I can't wait to meet a woman who will finally bring the notorious playboy to his knees!

If you are a fan of Lily's twisted imagination [and I mean this in the most flattering way possible!] then, like me, you were probably super excited to hear about this release. To be quite honest, I didn't even read the blurb before I one-clicked this title. There is really no need. Lily have established herself as my go-to author for all things dark and twisted. I've yet to read better.
Moving on ... this story won't be for everyone. Clearly. I mean, it's so out there. So depraved. So ... unholly [see what I did there??] but I was entertained enough to say I enjoyed this book and can't wait for the sequel to come out later this month.
This book should definitely have a trigger warning and that trigger warning should say: Lily White. I mean, the woman doesn't do safe. Period. If hearts and flowers is what you are after, Contemporary Romance aisle is right over there. Have fun.
One thing I need to mention before I go: how in love I am with Lily's writing. It's so ... sophisticated?? I am not sure if that's the right word for it but if you read her work and love the way she tells a story, you'd agree with me that this author can write. End of.
Now, if anyone needs me, I'll be right over there counting days till the release of Fear the Wicked, the conclusion of this wicked duet!

I can honestly say this book is one of THE best books I've ever read. Without a doubt. From exquisitely written original story, heroine your heart aches for and everything in between, this book OWNED me. I read it literally everywhere I went in the last 48 hours. I simply couldn't stop. I even rescheduled a couple of appointments and cancelled a lunch date so I can finish and I regret nothing.
Emotional. Original. Superbly written. Unforgettable. This kind of story/writing is why I LOVE to read. If you ever picked up a book based on one of my recommendations and enjoyed it, trust me on this. Absolutely, positively, 100% worth the hefty price tag because this is the kind of book you'll most likely reread more than once.

Of all the rom-coms I've read to date, no one has made me laugh with their stories as hard as Nicole Archer does. Superbly written, witty, super fun, filled with characters who I like to describe as 'colorful' and dialogue that makes you guffaw, these books are perfection! And let's not forget the feels because those are very much present and make for that awesome cherry on top of what is already a perfect story. Every time. Of all the new authors/series I discovered this year - and there has been many - Nicole Archer and her AD AGENCY series is up there. Every time I wake up to the newest books of hers on my Kindle, I know the next couple of days will be filled with nothing but joy because that's what her writing/stories make me feel.
The best part of this series, besides everything I mentioned above, is that each book can be read as 100% standalone. And as much as I LOVED the previous two books in the series, Charlie and Eli of Field-Tripped stole my heart because I am a sucker for a second chance romance!
So what I am trying to say is that I dare you to pick up any of the three available books by this author and not fall head over heels in love with the way she tells a story about characters who are so imperfectly perfect!

Cheers!
P.S. The entire series comes with the most amazing interactive playlist which elevates an already amazing reading experience to a whole new level of awesomeness!

Because it tells a story so compelling, so thought provoking, so emotional and so exquisitely written that you are left reeling. For DAYS after you've finished. 'The Idea of You' by Robinne Lee is one of those books.
To say I was blown away by EVERYTHING about this story would be an understatement. It checked off every single box I need for a book to be an exceptional read. Angst. Humor. Amazing dialogue. Unique subject matter. Pop culture. Love story. Depth. Amazing leads and phenomenal supporting cast. But most of all, it brought on the feels. So many feels. I don't think I've even been this anxious reading a book ... ever. And I say this in the most flattering way possible. The story kept me on the edge of my seat till the very last page. A roller-coaster of emotions only added to an already amazing reading experience.
This is one of those stories that offers so much food for thought that one can't simply review it and move on. Or maybe it's just me. I finished this days ago and I am still thinking about. Thinking about how, in this day and age, the doubles standards are alive and well. Thinking about how people will always have an opinion and how everyone is always so quick to judge you without having walked a mile in your shoes. Thinking about how much we, mothers, sacrifice for our kids.
I think it's safe to say I won't be getting over this read any time soon. It's just one of those stories that makes it's way into your heart and stays there. Permanently. Whether you like it or not. I urge everyone, especially everyone in their late 30s and on, to read this book with an open mind. If nothing else, you'll enjoy the scenery.
And in conclusion I want to say that, even though it's only July, 'The Idea of You' is my pick for BOOK OF THE YEAR 2017. That's all.

Piper's easy going writing style and his amazing ability to let readers see the story through Beckett's eyes to the point that you feel as if you there with him, solving cases, makes for a super entertaining and a really unique read.
If you enjoy mysteries/thrillers, this author and his work would be right up your alley. Addictive. Well written. Disturbing. Thrilling. Dominic Piper's work brings to the table some of the best ingredients that make up the delicious dish that is Daniel Beckett series of novels.

It came highly recommended by several of my trusted book friends and one of my favorite authors and lived up to every single expectation and I had for it and then some. PERFECTION, from start to finish! An absolute must read for lovers of psychological thrillers and historical fiction.

I am very easy to please when it comes to books. All I ask for is a well written, original story. YOU [and it's sequel, Hidden Bodies] delivered both and then some ...
I started buddy-reading this awesomeness with two of my book friends. Then, several of my other book friends said the audio for this was 'one of the best they've ever listened to' so, off the three of us went to also buy an audible version of this series so we ended up reading along TO an audio version and IT. WAS. AWESOME!
First of all, Joe Goldberg is THE ultimate anti-hero. I mean, you find yourself questioning your sanity because you can't help but root for as you fall in love with him!
Second, Caroline Kepnes did such an amazing job telling this original story in such unique way that you feel creeped out yet fascinated by it all.
And last (but not least!), Santino Fontana does such an EXQUISITE job bringing Joe to life that this whole experience was absolutely one of THE best I ever had while reading/listening to a book. I've yet to listen to a better audiobook and I doubt I ever will! Absolutely brilliant writing, narration, EVERYTHING ... NOT to be missed for lovers of thrillers and those who value originality in their books.
I am not sure if it's normal to laugh as you read a [psychological] thriller but you do! At all the pop-culture references, all the mocking Santino does as Joe ... I mean, the whole thing is absolutely BRILLIANT! I can not believe it took me this long to get on the Joe-wagon but I am NEVER getting off! Not to mention, Caroline is now on my list of 'auto-buy-whatever-it-is' authors.
READ. THIS. SERIES! READ IT NOW!!! It is pricey but, IMO, worth every penny. So borrow it from your local library or check out your local Goodwill ... whatever ... just get your hands on this brilliance somehow! You won't be disappointed.

To date, I've read about 90% of this author's entire catalog and I've yet to read the same story twice. Her imagination knows no bounds because with each and every new release, Kresley Cole brings to the table something special and very unique to the couple the story is about. The only thing that DOES repeat from book to book is how absolutely kick ass her heroines and insanely sexy her male leads are. This book is no exception! Fantastic addition to an already favorite [fantasy] series of mine, this story, once again, exhibits why Kresley Cole is one of my ultimate favorite one-click authors.
Sadly, neither my vocabulary or my imagination is as as extensive as Ms. Cole's so most of my reviews of her work sound the same but I simply can't get enough of her characters! I think I've said this multiples times before but every new couple she introduces us to becomes my new favorite! Sian and Lila is the latest duo to land on my 'favorite couple' shelf. Absolutely perfect for each other, these two are a match made in Hell and I loved every scorching minute of their journey to their much needed HEA. Exquisitely written [what else is new?], this story's entertainment factor is enhanced by supporting cast that consists of some of Kresley's colorful characters we have a pleasure of meeting for the first time and some of my old favorites. Add to that the banter and the bromance and, once again, you get an amazing reading experience that grabs you on page 1 and doesn't let go till 'The End'.
This book is dedicate to 'those who still dream of fairy tales ...' and, at 43, I still do so thank you, Kresley Cole, for supplying the kind of fairy tales material I am only happy to dream of for as long as I can dream.

To say it met and exceeded all of my expectations would be an understatement. Still plenty funny and super entertaining, this book was a bit deeper and maybe even a bit darker but, without a doubt, a great addition to what has now become one of my favorite series.
I am in love with the way this author tells a story. Reads like a very entertaining TV show, this series makes you laugh, makes you think and makes you wish it would go on forever because almost every single character we've encountered so far deserves his/her own book.
The way Nicole Archer incorporates soundtrack into her stories enhances one's reading experience tenfold. Not to mention her use of quotes at the beginning of every chapter - mostly from Alice in Wonderland in this book which were quite fitting for Effie's character - is simply brilliant!
If you enjoy having a laugh and tend to NOT over-analyze fiction when you read, you'll get a kick out of this author/series.

I don't even know how to review this book but if I had to describe it in one word, that word would be: PERFECTION! Because PERFECT is what this book is, from stat to finish. From the way it's written, to it's fresh and original content, the way the author blends funny with emotional parts that are bound to make you tear up, from picturesque setting to an absolutely HYSTERICAL dialogue/banter between a cast so colorful that I actually squealed with delight when I found out author's plans for many more books in the series because I can read about this entertaining bunch forever!
I can't recommend this book enough. And to pretty much EVERYONE. I can't name ONE person that I know who WOULDN'T enjoy this story.
Callie and Walker stole my heart from the minute I met them. They aren't exactly 'opposites attract' kind of deal but they definitely compliment each other in the best of ways. As I said above, the supporting cast is just as great as the main couple and the story itself. They enhance said story just as much as everything our main duo encounters on the scenic route to their destination.
READ. THIS. BOOK! I promise you won't be disappointed. And, if for any reason you end up disliking it, your next read is on me! So you really have nothing to lose but a fantastic new reading experience to gain!
Nicole Archer is a 'new-to-me' author who now has a new fan for life! I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read this book but I am glad I finally did because 'better late than never', right?

P.S. This book would make a PERFECT TV show. Seriously.
