I completely hated the art style. Why was Alice a possessed sick little Victorian boy demon? What was with all of the characters eyes? Why were they so soul less? Almost all of it was black and white. I will say colour was used to empathise the plot but I just prefer all colour
I had been looking to try get the next volumes (even if they’re rarer than pixie dust) but I don’t think I will.
All text was basically, if not exactly, copied from the book. It only goes up to the end of the meadow scene after their first kiss....more
I feel like this book was an apology for the last one. It had everyone who was missing in, all the way through (although I **spoiler alert** 4.5 / 5 ✨
I feel like this book was an apology for the last one. It had everyone who was missing in, all the way through (although I absolutely could have used more Jason, I know I know I’m asking for too much).
I’m kind of sad that Anita didn’t become a wereleopard after all, because I think she would have bossed the shit out of that but also I’m happy because I think it would have scared the shit out of her too. Anita has grew into a very different person since book one, good and bad, but I think book one Anita would have been horrified if she had become one. I feel like it’s more ‘on brand’, fitting for her not to. Still, she has the aura of the leopard and I think that’s a nice mix of old and new Anita.
While I kinda get what the author was going for with this book, it just felt pointless to the previous storyline and out of place.
Okay, it was so AniWhile I kinda get what the author was going for with this book, it just felt pointless to the previous storyline and out of place.
Okay, it was so Anita could see what she’d become (aka a killing machine) and build a better relationship with Edward, who also had growth. This growth was supposed to show Anita she had options with Jean-Claude and Richard, but realistically it’s barely mentioned and just a side note. Which by itself would kinda be fine BUT after finally making progress with the two LIs, making and growing friendships and becoming leader to the werewolves and the wereleopards in the more recent books, only for them to be completely thrown aside and not even be in this 691 page book? Mind boggling.
The time jumps between books is months and too much happens between them that are just casually mentioned but would have been so interesting to actually read about.
After reading 9 books, I’ve got to say, I’m pretty tired of the multiple repeated copy and paste text in each and every book. We get it. Please. I just wish it would stop but I just know it won’t in the next TWENTY books ...more

Honestly, these books are lacking. They seem to place such importance on the MC finding her soul mate (or as I’m thinking mates) but only gives surface level relationships with the same repetitive steps and sex. I just want it to go to a deeper level. Jeez, is that too much to ask?? ...more

This one kept me guessing.
I’m happy with the way it ended. Totally fitting with the MC. Glad Kellen is FINALLY going to be given some focus and not just a quick paragraph and used to make Quinn jealous.
I got annoyed with the end of the last book not mentioning what happened to Kade…he’s been fobbed off with “he joined the program so now needs training” aka he’s served his purpose and I no longer want to write about him/ he doesn’t fit anymore.
Even this one still felt like something was missing? I have absolutely no idea what but it didn’t kept me hooked like over books I’ve read. ...more
Despite liking this book more, I can’t give it a higher rating that the other books in the series because it felt so drawn out and then just 3.5 / 5 ✨
Despite liking this book more, I can’t give it a higher rating that the other books in the series because it felt so drawn out and then just rushes the end?
Like the goal of the book happens on page 364 and it ends on page 371…
Also leaves a lot of questions such as where was Kade for the last half of the story?? He was present a lot in the first half as a live in spy and then all of sudden, there’s no mention of him??
Anyway. I’m the author left Gautier alive because I wanted to see Riley and him fight it out.
I’m still with the idea of Riley having two mates but I’m happy with the progress with both love interests and love how sportive Kade is, even if I don’t think he’ll be endgame. Glad he’s there to show Riley how she should be treated! ...more

I think Kellen will play a bigger picture in the future. I get the vibes of one mate per hybrid side. So Kellen for the werewolf and Quinn for the vampire side, which he won’t like. ...more
