I would classify this as more erotica, which is fine, but not what I was hoping for from the story.

Two bear shifters who will share a fated mate, run a lodge together. They seem to fight a lot and push each other's buttons. In truth, they felt more like competition than a couple. One is impatient, and the other, who is to be the alpha, tends to be more cautious.
When their mate arrives, they try to figure out how to break the news to someone who doesn't even know bear shifters exist, let alone that he identifies as straight.
I like the premise, but a lot about it felt too forced, and the one bear often pushed my boundaries on a lack of consent.
I am curious enough to try other works by the author....more

But I'm loving this novella series about Reese and Cory, as their deeply sexual relationship develops over time and distance.
Two foster brothers, turned best friends, are simmering with mutual, but oblivious, pining.
I love BFFs pinning for one another. Especially when their friends know. And it’s completely understandable given their upbringing and promises to always be by each other's sides. It’s a lot to risk, but oh so wonderful when they do.
They are both wonderful guys, and it was a lot of fun watching them find their happy ever after. ...more

Two novellas by incredibly talented husband who consistently brings us unique romances. They are well known for their character development. And these two stories aren’t any different.
Bare Naked by Garry Michael Naked Survivor - where contestants are paired together and dropped into the Canadian wilderness with basically nothing but their wits and a camera. And the winner is the last pair standing. This pair - Erik and Drew - a woefully unprepared student and the previous season's winner. I love a romance bubble. Just the two of them trying to survive together, and needing stay warm *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
It’s a well-developed romance with a break that leads to a swoony Hollywood style happy ending.
Hate at First Sight by Michael Robert This is the second story I’ve read recently with a fire watch tower, and I’m hereby asking for more. Remote wilderness and a one-room tower are the perfect setting for a secluded romance.
Blake and Dirk do not get off to a good start! Blake is a walking dark cloud with a chip on his shoulder looking to escape life in the wilderness. He’s also not exactly equipped for the adventure. And he doesn’t appreciate Blake's concern or questions.
No matter how much Blake wants to throttle him, he can’t turn off his caring nature, nor can he ignore the intriguing and good-looking man, braving the elements to rescue the man, literally.
Now they are trapped in the fire watch tower, with nothing to do but stay warm and get to know each other. ...more
A lovely novella bringing us back in time to a Halloween night in New Orleans when Tommy meets rising star, Nate.
It’s a cute story, with a fast attraction neither can shake. Two men who prefer their relationship statuses as casual quickly discover they are anything but. And though it seems like the odds would be stacked against them, nothing can stand in the way of two men who are perfect for one another.
I love the tension and build-up. The pining. The texting. It’s a fun story, and I’m happy to be back in the Wayward Lane universe. ...more
Reese is the very definition of leaping before thinking. The guy is a live wire.
After a soap opera-worthy breakup, he decides to move in with his grandfather, who’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Displacing Jude, the live-in caregiver, in the process.
What Reese doesn’t know…Jude has nowhere to go. He has a large family who are all already stretched too thin.
Jude is such a kind soul, who’s martyred his life for his family. Working, putting his siblings through school, getting his degree, and denying his sexuality to them. He’s even willing to go back to work for Reese when the man discovers he’s in over his head.
Reese brings with him drama. And his grandfather is a firecracker. The three of them together are all kinds of adorable. It’s not all smooth sailing, but it’s an exciting story.
From a steamy no-names one-night stand in Bali, to a beautiful relationship that can weather any storm.
Toby and Spencer were never supposed to see each other again. They especially weren’t prepared for their lives to become so intertwined.
Spencer is a wonderful human, who is equal parts patient and kind. When he discovers Toby’s identity, he’s willing to face his social anxiety to see if there could be something more. This man frequently makes himself vulnerable to prove to Toby that he can be counted on, and it is quite beautiful.
Toby is dealing with a lot. A LOT. This beautiful messy human being needs a special kind of man to weather him. Trauma and coping mechanisms he’s never really dealt with, he’s always figured it’s best to stay emotionally distant from lovers. He’s the kind of guy who is an amazing friend, but never expects it in return.
“You’ll weather this storm with me?” “And every one to come.”
These two together experience a lot of push and pull in their relationship. It’s emotional but it’s also bright and warm. They both had a beautiful arc of self-discovery and healing.
Such a wonderful short story. Full of heart and sweetness. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Two best friends reunite when Ray returns to his hometown of Sunshine. Both men are at a pivotal moment in their lives and are looking for change.
They are a wonderful pairing. They have the easygoing nature that best-friend romances give us. It’s the reason they are my favourite. The joy they feel when they are together, the laughs, and the comfort is what makes them special together.
