I did guess one or two things, but it didn't change how I felt about this book. I loved the short chapters, all the Hawthorne brothers, the story, and basically everything! I do say I enjoyed this book a lot while reading it, but thinking it over I would say this wasn't my favorite book (if you read my previous review, I did contradict myself). I 100% recommend reading this series if u haven't already! this is a 5-star series for me...more

Honestly, Warner could do absolutely anything, and I mean anything, no matter how despicable, and I would still be groveling and on my knees for him.
I couldn't have asked for a better book than this. When someone says that there is no such thing as a perfect book, you're wrong. It exists, and it's right here. There wouldn't be anything that I would've changed. This book had perfectly crafted characters, a plot that wasn't too complicated, amazing and beautiful writing, and just a book that gives me so many feelings. Nothing, and I mean nothing, could ever compare to this book. I was possibly grinning the whole time because Juliette and Warner's dynamic/relationship was so wholesome and envious. Umm... excuse me, I would like what Warner and Juliette have.
The Characters Kenji has my whole heart because he always brings me joy. Kenji may seem like this side character that copes with situations with jokes, but he is so much more than that. He has this deeper backstory to him and is the most hilarious yet extraordinary character that I have ever read. If I had a friend like Kenji in real life, I would be set for life. Juliette has evolved so much, and I mean so much, from the first book. She no longer is this vulnerable and broken character. She knows what she wants and she takes it. Juliette still has some minor setbacks, but those minor incidents don't define her. She is someone who I would strive to be. She doesn't take crap from anyone and she finally breaks free from her past. AARON MF WARNER ...more
2 stars, maybe even 1 star...I honestly wasn't interested in Adam one bit. He was suspicious based off his first appearance and he proved me right. I 2 stars, maybe even 1 star...I honestly wasn't interested in Adam one bit. He was suspicious based off his first appearance and he proved me right. I loved his relationship with his brother, James, but I absolutely despised his relationship with Juliette. Is he a redeemable character? No and I'm sorry for those who believe he can be redeemed. None of his actions were justified and he pissed me off so much. I understand that he is just on the verge of becoming an adult and has gone through stuff in his life, but don't project it on other people.
Sorry, this review just became a rant about Adam and absolutely nothing about what this novella was about, but that's just what I typed out. I'd still recommend reading this if you are reading this series because there is information that is somewhat vital though. ...more

I loved this book, even more, the third time around, which makes sense because the third time's the charm, right? Everything was so intriguing and engrossing the more I thoroughly analyzed it. I concentrated more on the minor and unnoticeable details I didn't catch while reading this. I noticed details that I would have never seen before. While reading this for the third time, it changed my perspective on this book because I got more insight and entail of the characters and plot by paying attention to the intricate details.
If I were, to sum up, my feelings in 4 words, it would be that I undoubtedly adored this. I was captivated from beginning to end. I whizzed through this book without missing a beat. I was tense the whole time because I already knew what was going to happen, but it still hit me emotionally the same, maybe even more intensely. It wasn't a negative feeling but rather a positive feeling because it made me feel something more. At times, I was agitated, mortified, giddy, tense, and just a whole whirlwind of emotions.
The Plot: This book is a direct continuation of the first book, Shatter Me. You watch and observe Juliette in a different state and place, still navigating her way through life. She still is vulnerable and naive but becomes stronger throughout this book. She feels somewhat outcasted and alone, although she has found people similar to her, with gifts. Juliette is faced with many predicaments, both emotionally and physically. She is facing an inner battle with her emotions due to circumstances caused by her complicated feelings in her relationship. She must choose where her heart lies, someone who has given her protection and solidity, or someone who is riskier and more complicated. There is a never-ending battle within her state of mind because she can't let go of her haunting past and move forward to this unknown and daunting future. Slowly but surely, Juliette evolves in stages. Although her brain still is a haphazard mess at times, it progressively gets better.
Overall, I have been immensely enjoying this series more than I should. It will forever be one of my favorite series and I would, without doubt, recommend this series. Time and time again, this series has not disappointed me. Age rating - 14+...more
