Excited, because we get the Final chapter of Kade and Stacey's story; terrified because it's going to be one hell of a bumpy road to get to the end. This book starts sometime after the events of book 2 and its fast paced and full of suspense. I'm not going to lie, this is heavy, and a reminder that the trigger warning in the front of the book really is there for a reason. Leigh has made these characters come alive, I find myself laughing at the bickering between Tobias and Barry, but then I'm reaching for the tissues in other parts because getting to know these characters over the first two books, really makes your heart break for what is being done. You feel like you know them as people and your taking this path them. An absolute credit to Leigh for this, she's done an amazing job! Both Kade and Stacey will put others first before themselves which means they bear the brunt of anything that comes their way. Seeing what Kade has gone through and what he has become in the start of this story in stark contrast to the strong character he was when we were introduced to him in book one. From start to finish, this book took us on a fast paced journey full of suspense, danger, heartbreak, love and loyalty. I didn't want to put it down! But I also didn't want the story to end. I was invested in these characters and Kade and Stacey's story was gripping, right to the very end. There was so much these two went through and to see Kade transform from this angry, hurt young man, to a happy and content father makes my heart happy, because they both truly deserve it! This will be one of those stories that you'll keep in the back of your mind and think of from time to time. Thank you Leigh for an amazing end to a fabulous Trilogy! Well done, you should be proud!!...more

JaggeHaving met Alistair and Gabriel in Tempest book, they instantly caught my attention. Getting to know Alistair in this book has been interesting. Jagger is one of my favourite authors and he always delivers the goods! Alistair and Eloise had a past and they really need to work through some things. As always you get caught up in the words and lost in the story. These two had so much chemistry and were so good together. No one does a mafia romance, enemies-to-lovers quite like Jagger Cole! Every bit of this story is suspenseful and angsty. I admired Eloise's strength and how she persevered despite everything. I loved Alistair's character, he was simply delicious! Every book I read from this author just gets better and better. I cannot wait to get Gabriel's story! Thank you! ...more

I'm a huge Trisha fan and fell in love with her writing. Nothing I write in my reviews will ever do her justice, she is just that good. For me, there is no other way to describe her work other than it is pure perfection! This will sound rather strange give What she writes, but to me, Trisha's writing is beautiful. Her ability to describe things so vividly, allows you to become immersed in her storytelling and you never want to leave. Halen and Kallum's story has been an extremely passionate read. There's so much emotion, these characters have an intensity that leaves you breathless. The twists you never saw coming and the way you don't know which way is up has been done brilliantly. Halen was cloaked in darkness and pain you could almost taste it. She's suffered and she continues to suffer and Kallum is right there taking every bit of her anger and hurt so she doesn't have to. Watching Kallum and Halen together was something else, one didn't move without the other and I was simply lost to their frenzy. There isn't much I want to say about the content of this Trilogy, because to do that would give away spoilers and that simply won't do. This needs you to go in blind with your eyes wide open and to see if you can keep up with professor Locke. Reading the last chapter of this book and I had tears in my eyes. Tears not because it was sad as much as it Kallum and Halen's story was ending. Tears because you can feel the amount of love and madness and emotion that went into writing this Trilogy. To say that these two were in love and that this was their love story is not enough. What they have is all consuming, it goes beyond anything we'd ever understand. Honestly, this will be my top read for 2024, Trisha, you are amazing and I feel honoured to read your work, it is an absolute pleasure! Truly, thank you!

Walker might be an obsessive, stalker, but he's a sweetheart doing it! Such a contradiction! When he meets Olivia, he instantly falls and we all know what these hockey players do when they fall! My heart goes out to Olivia and what she is having to endure. It's shocking that anyone can do these things, let alone to people they're supposed to love and care for and protect. Olivia has been through so much, that she just wanted one night for herself and she took it. Walker becomes instantly obsessed and from here his antics are outrageous they make you laugh in disbelief. Not only that, he has Ari and Linc in his corner! What could these three possibly get up to! I love their friendship and how close they've become, and walkie-poo's man-crush on Linc is adorable! They might do some really questionable things, but we love them anyway! They make us laugh, they make us swoon! Olivia and Walker together was great. I enjoyed how supportive he was of her and the more serious situations were tackled well. I also think Walker may have even topped Linc's level of crazy obsessive!! The text chats between them and walker with his brothers were funny, and I love how they just talk about Stalking their wives/girlfriends like it's the most normal thing in the world. This was another fantastic read by one of my go-to authors and I'd recommend this to anyone that loves their book boyfriends insanely obsessive, borderline psychotically jealous and with every red flag you can think of! Loved it, thank you! Can't wait to see how the next Dallas Knight stacks up! ...more

This was an emotional roller coaster and a lot of secrets were finally revealed. There are also a lot still left unanswered. Riley took what happened to her and instead of allowing it to destroy her she grew stronger, I really liked that for her. Grayson still needs to get his head out of his you know what! Knox's story in all its hard fought glory! I do have to admit that his antics in previous books left a lot to be desired! Seeing him get a taste of his own medicine is like karmic justice. Knowing the type of character Knox was, it was very hard to see him with someone timid, who'd just roll over at the drop of a hat. This certainly does not describe Aurora! She's a force and she takes as good as she gets! He is one of those characters that you think you hate, but deep down, we know there is some underlying story that has turned him into this cold, hard person. Despite his attitude, he was always there for his sunshine! I loved their chemistry, despite them being at each other's throats. I also loved their banter! She is seriously bad a$$. I don’t think there is anyone else that could give it back to Knox like she did! The amount of twists and seeing how everything is connected was like ah-ha moments. I am so glad we eventually got to see him thaw a little, because boy can this man hold a grudge! And he's nasty about it! We do learn later on why he was the way he was and find that there was some major miscommunication over what had happened! S. Massery can write a dark hockey romance like no other and all her characters are matched to perfection. Once you see these two together, there is no way you can imagine anyone else being able to handle Knox! Watching some healing beginning between the brothers as well was everything. I think this really needed to happen and I am so glad for it! Once again, a brilliant read and I am so here for the spin off series! I cannot wait!...more
Grab the tissues because that first chapter really gets you in the feels! Michelle is one of my go-to authors and I've not read a book of hers I havenGrab the tissues because that first chapter really gets you in the feels! Michelle is one of my go-to authors and I've not read a book of hers I haven't liked! She has a way with words that pulls you in and before you know it, you've reached the end. This one however, is a shock to the system! That's not a bad thing by the way, but boy I wasn't expecting what I read! I was left reeling and absolutely dumbstruck in between crying for probably the first 10 chapters! Michelle knows how to make an entrance that's for sure! This book is fast paced and full of action. Renzo is on a r3veng3 mission and he's not leaving any stone unturned, looking for the people responsible for what happened. I never once questioned what he was doing, because you imagine being in his shoes and wanting to do the same thing. The raw emotion that Michelle was able to capture was thick. There are times throughout this story that you will need the tissues, so keep them handy! Poor Skylar has been put in an impossible position and I cannot imagine what things would be like for her either. Being locked up as a prisoner has become routine for Skylar until something shifts, and then thoughts are planted by some of the side characters, which are brilliant by the way! Renzo is starting to see Skylar differently and they start to get to know one another. But it's not long before the pace picks back up and you're again sitting on the edge of your seat! For me personally, this was quite a bit more emotional than some of the others I have read of Michelle's, I still really enjoyed this story, however there were a couple of parts I did question. Overall though, the story keeps you invested! I so happy with the ending, it makes everything else hurt a little less. Thank you...more

JL BOur first glimpse of Drew in the beginning and he's positively arrogant and unhinged, a walking red flag. But boy don't they make the best ones!? JL Beck is one of my favourite authors. When she brings out a new book, you just know you're going to love it! I have to say, my initial introduction to Maybel, or Bel, was a surprising one. I made an assumption on her character and it turns out I was wrong. Despite her wanting to blend in, and mind her business, she can stand up for herself. I love that about her. However, she still is the scholarship kid, the book nerd who catches the eye of one of the wealthiest at Oakmount and boy did he become obsessed! We were warned about him, but I don’t think anything can prepare you for Drew Marshall! Bel, gets talked into something called the Hunt so she can try win some cash to help her sick mom. Drew is now 'Bel Obsessed' and he also loves the thrill of the chase, of the hunt. Bel never had any misconceptions about Drew being a good guy, she knew he wasn’t, but I think there were times where she did try to understand him, that she hoped he wasn’t going to rip her heart out! Drew is next level, but he was always just a piece on the board, playing his father's game. You can also rely on this author to bring the spice, and oh my! She did not disappoint! I think my room lit up with how bright red my face went in some scenes! Not only that, but the twists? I mean whaaat?! I am over here trying to figure it all out! One thing of many that I love about this author is that you are guaranteed captivating writing! J.L knows the right words to use to hook you right in! I cannot say enough about how good this was! It was such a good start to the series and to this Duet, I absolutely cannot wait for the next book and for the rest of the Elite's story's! Thank you!...more
I've always loved Jagger's books. I think he was one of my first Dark Romance authors that I stumbled across and no is one of my go-to's! The writing I've always loved Jagger's books. I think he was one of my first Dark Romance authors that I stumbled across and no is one of my go-to's! The writing is always fantastic. You're instantly pulled into the world he's building and you get lost in the pages. Tempest on first meeting, is hot-headed and says what she thinks, in the words of her brothers, "she has no filter" and she most certainly doesn't! We meet a number of other characters as well within the first couple of chapters and my first impressions of Dante was that he was a no-nonsense type of guy, that has a sarcastic snark, but underneath hides a more caring side. I will never get enough of Jaggers writing! I mean these two characters are at each other's throats and written so brilliantly I feel like I'm sitting at a show shovelling popcorn into my mouth! The storyline is so good, and written in a way that evokes so many feelings! Tempest is the way she is because of some horrible things she's had to face and on top of that, she's hiding a secret and shouldering a burden alone. I felt my heart in my throat at a particular part when she's talking to Dante and for as painful as she can be, you cannot help but admire her and her strength, she's not let what happened define her and she's now living with an acceptance of her situation that I am just in awe of. Dante and Tempest have got to be my favourite couple in a while! They've been written so brilliantly, they're perfect together. Both push each other's buttons, but it's the way they both change and adapt to the other that's done so well! They start realising that things aren't so fake anymore, and they both find themselves opening up more and more, sharing things they haven't told anyone. This book has had everything. I've cried, I've laughed, it's one of those books you can't get enough of. The spice level is intense! While there might not be many scenes, the content of said scenes certainly pack a punch! So hot! I have enjoyed watching the character growth, especially with Dante. The last part of the book started pulling everything in and tensions were high! There was a vibe I was getting from this book that told me there was something I wasn't quite seeing, and then there was one h311 of a plot twist I most definitely didn't see coming! This story wrapped quite nicely and would have to be one of the best books I've read so far this year! Jagger certainly knows what he's doing that's for sure! Another absolutely fantastic read! Echo is promised to Crew's brother, and he just cannot figure out why. She twists him up in ways he doesn't understand. I love Eva's writing, I get so engrossed in the story that I find it hard to put her books down. This one is no different. Crew is a tough character to read. He comes across as angry and bloodthirsty, but deep down he has a possessiveness for a woman that isn't his and he's not sure why. Echo is a strong character, she's also loyal and will do anything for the people she cares about. Giving up her own happiness for others. When she goes to Crew with a proposition, she's changed the rules of the game. She wants to do things on her terms, it's the only thing she has left. The tension between these two characters is almost palpable. It's like they're both wound so tight that one small movement is enough to make them snap. Crew and Echo have so much passion, they're explosive together. Echo still is adamant that what she is doing is the right thing because she made a promise. Crew is the type of character that doesn't let a lot of people in, so when he does it's special, it means something to him. He's crude, he's possessive, he's a walking red flag with an incredibly dirty mouth, and boy is it hot! I thought I enjoyed Jude, but Crew is something else entirely! Echo and Crew bring out something in each other that straight away makes you realise they are perfect for each other. But there's obstacles they need to face before they can get comfortable. As this story progresses, you can't help but wonder what is really going on. Eva does a brilliant job of feeding you bits here and there and you've no choice but to follow the breadcrumbs she's laid out. I absolutely love the way Eva describes certain things, it makes the story that much better. There was a moment of shock at the turn of events, there was always something not quite right, and the revelation about what happened in Crew's past, i had a feeling that was what really happened by something that was said earlier in the book. The suspense toward the end had me gripping my e-reader harder, wondering how this was going to end! Another brilliant read by Eva. This had everything. Not only was it about Crew and Echo, but also about reconnecting with family and sacrificing for those you love. For lovers of possessive, dirty talking alpha-holes, this one's for you! Absolutely loved it, thank you!...more

It is descriptive and the writer does well with getting you to relate to the FMC, feel and understand what she is going through. Because it is true, no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. Tee has had enough so she sneaks out in the middle of the night and finds herself working on a cattle ranch. She is a shell of her former self and she wants to keep her head down and put her life back together. In the beginning you can see the changes in Tee and how she is slowly getting back her confidence, I think it helps when you have people around you that are super supportive. When we meet Eli, he is coming home after 5 years in prison. So many things have changed for him when he gets home and then on top of it, he is having feelings that he doesn’t quite know what to do with, so he gets angry and lashes out. He knows it's his fault he went away, but it doesn’t make things any easier on him, and he is struggling to deal with all of the changes. By this time however, Tee has grown some, so she doesn’t back away from him. These two dance around each other and as much as Eli wants to see what there is between them, the more Tee puts up her walls and pushes him away. I really did enjoy the way words were used in this story, I loved the metaphors and analogies, but I did feel at times they were a smidge too much. Almost like the same sentence was repeated, but with different words. Despite this, it was a good story. There was one thing I have to disagree with and that is men don't 'swoon'. They will puff their chest, or they'll smoulder, but for me, they don't swoon. Moving through the story, it was good to see Tee, finally be free and start to take her life back, thigs like that are never easy when you've been stuck for so long. I loved how all the other side characters complimented the story and i feel like there's a few more stories in here that I'm keen to read, like where the hell did Sarah come from and how is it just normal after so much time away? I need that story! A really good, insta-attraction, where he falls first. Well done and thank you! ...more

Lexi is embarrassed and ashamed that everyone now knows her business, but now she's also got unwavering support from some of her closest friends. They stand by her side and do what that can to shield her from the gossip. This story highlights the fallout and after effects of certain decisions and incidents that happen. I said in my first review Lexi is still young, she's never been in love before and she's having a tough time dealing with things emotionally, so she's acting out and doing things she wouldn't normally. I feel like her way of thinking about things is a little on the 'young' side, what I mean, is that for a 17 yo she's still got a lot of growing and understanding to do. These kids cannot catch a break and it's almost like the universe is against them! I was on the edge of my seat for the last part of this book, adrenalin pumping, eager to get to the end, only for it to end on a doozy of a cliffhanger! Another well written part in this story. I look forward to reading the conclusion!...more

I am pulled straight back in to the story and wishing that Kade can just get ridThis second instalment starts directly after the first book finishes. I am pulled straight back in to the story and wishing that Kade can just get rid of his 'bosses' already! I cannot stand those two! I also feel for poor Stacey an the way she's being treated! I want to scream at her to try get away somehow! Its medium pacing in the beginning and the writing is descriptive. You're kept guessing about where the story is headed, and I do not want to put it down. Having the flashbacks from Kade is good because we get to see how things started and where things ended and went wrong. I find his character quite interesting in the way he processes things and doesn't feel emotions like everyone else. This story almost has a Romeo and Juliet fee to it. Both love one another but forces and other people keep them apart. When Stacey finally reveals the truth, I'm a little annoyed at her best friend. I get that she lied, but I think sometimes we have to try put ourselves in that person's shoes and try understand where they are coming from. There's so much going on here that I felt on the edge of my seat most of the way through! This book turned into a fast paced, suspense filled story that I couldn't put down! No one here can catch a break! I honestly don't know which villain is worse! And tend on that cliffhanger the way it did! I think my anxiety levels hit the roof and my heart was in my throat! There's a diI have thoroughly enjoyed Tara's Order of Ravens and Wolves series, and LOVED Twisted Abel so when this came up, I knew I'd love this too! There's a different vibe around this book, and I love how it was written. Nova is such a unique character. She's so chaotic in her thoughts and she's full of witty sarcasm. Her relationship with Memphis is a good one, after everything that's happened to her family, it seems like she's closest to him. Gio and his friends, feed off of others' fear, Atlee especially finds joy in inflicting pain on others. They're still boys , but in the world they've grown up in, they've aged a lot quicker than their 18 years. Giovanni hates Nova for what her brother did and he will do anything to destroy Nova. Despite her dark humour and her pessimism, Nova is a force of nature. She's the type not to show fear, while she's trembling inside. I actually quite admired her with how she handled everything that happened. She's grown up incredibly quickly after what happened to her sister, then her brother because of that. She's fiercely loyal and while she handles anything done to her, she won't tolerate her family being hurt. Giovanni is a character that I feel will have a lot of growth through this duet. In the beginning, he's incredibly angry, angry at how he gets treated, angry at being groomed and taken advantage of, angry at himself for letting it continue and angry at losing his brother. When he starts bullying Nova, there's a turning point early on that makes him sit up and take notice. He needs to understand why, which is where i believe his feelings start, not that this is verbalised or even hinted at, just my own observation. This is written so well, that you find it hard to put down. It's full of sarcasm and dark humour and it's like I can see everything playing out like a movie. I absolutely love the banter between Gio and his boys, you can almost imagine them acting this way in reality. While this story primarily focuses on Gio getting revenge for what happened to his brother, there's also a few side plots as well. There are small things here and there that have you thinking about who is hiding what. Whilst I do like the tension between Nova and Gio, it is a very slow burn. This book centres more on what's actually happened and the story build up. It really has been a fantastic read, and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 and see where this goes! Thank you and we'll done! ...more

Picking this up has all those memories of what happened in the first book come rushing back. To say J wants vengeance is an understatement. She's trying to find out what's going whilst trying to keep herself and everyone she cares about out of the line of fire. J is an angry character, she's tough, she doesn't back down and she can take care of herself. This has been fast paced from the get go and despite my utter devastation at the ending of the first book, I can now see why that had to happen. J needs someone that's going to be able to handle her. Someone that will let her be who she is, but then have fun trying to make her submit in the bedroom. Enter Dimitry. And holy Mother, where did he come from?! He's definitely going to give J a run for her money! Their encounters have been filled with so much heat and s3xu@l tension, I thought my e-reader was going to combust! Despite this, J feels guilty about this and tries to view it as just business. Failing miserably. D is a conundrum. He comes across as this dark, dangerous, dominant Alpha, but then underneath he's a computer geek who says things like "food is my love language". One thing is for sure though is the lengths he'll go to in order to make Jordyn happy, there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. These two fit so well together, he's the Sunshine to her grumpy, he knows what she needs, despite her 'take no bulls**t attitude, she wants someone that will not take her crap, someone that can "put her in her place", so to speak, and take charge, when it's needed. There was no letup in this one, with non-stop action and J and her reapers scrambling to find out what's going on. Dimitri was definitely his own version of unhinged and he fit in so well with the reapers it was hard to picture things without him. He definitely wormed his way in and he was perfect for J! He more than proved himself time and again, especially when he went all the way to Florida himself, with just his knife! I really enjoyed reading a book with a strong FMC like J. She was strong and she never once faltered. This was a really well written duet, I loved it! I'm really looking forward to more by these authors. ...more

As always, the spice in any of Shantel's books is hot and this one didn’t disappoint! There were times where I didn’t quite connect with the FMC and I think she is the one I least like so far out of all of the books. The twists and turns are enough to make you dizzy and I love that about these books because right when you think you know what is going on, the rug gets pulled out from under you and things are so different! Olivia and Malachi met when they were kids and have grown up in I like when we get a glimpse of the past for the MCs and move through to the present. Olivia and Malachi met when they were kids and have grown up in a house as brother and sister. There is an interesting dynamic in the house which gets the wheels in my head turning. Wondering what the significance of certain things were. There was definitely something "off" about the situation. The MCs are close and over the years Malachi has gotten more and more possessive of Olivia. This is cause for concern or their "parents". At first I was hesitant in reading this one because it mentioned spiders in the warning and I'm scared of spiders! But aside from one small moment, a couple of words really, it was fine. This was short and super spicy! I loved the writing and I don't know which character was more unhinged to be honest! I felt sorry for both of these characters and what they seemed to have endured as kids. They did live a better life where they were but still things were strange. Poor Malachi doesn't feel like others do so I felt bad for him in places. He really couldn’t grasp the concept of emotions and a lot of the time did not see anything wrong with his actions. Which made him all the more enticing! Haha Olivia does try to fight what is happening between them, because part of her believes what they are feeling are wrong because of how they grew up, but the attempts are futile really. Malachi was incredibly unhinged and viewed Olivia as his. He would unalive anyone that even looked in her direction and she certainly used that to her advantage when she needed to! They definitely had a unique, sometimes co-dependent type relationship and seeing them both together made you realise These two were perfect for each other! The way Malachi tries to seek his revenge for things he feels that Olivia did to him were wrong, but boy were those scenes hot! I did feel like there was some unfinished parts and would love to see a some kind of follow on for these two. I didn't want it to finish! I can only imagine the havoc both of them would cause!
