I felt like there were parts where I understood what was going on and how it fit into the overall world of Oz and in tandem with The Wizard of Oz storI felt like there were parts where I understood what was going on and how it fit into the overall world of Oz and in tandem with The Wizard of Oz story, but at the same time there were chunks where I was seriously confused and had to remind myself I was reading Wicked. I feel like it deals with a lot of good themes like racism, homophobia, disabilities etc. but doesn’t necessarily execute them well
Also before reading this I had only heard it was a broadway musical and now major motion picture and knew it was very musical and theatrical. I had no idea there was so much murder and mystery in the book...more
Obviously obsessed with the show but I know how traumatic it was for a lot of people from there. I didn’t even know Rita Ora hosted cycle 23 because I think it’s the only cycle I haven’t seen (or even heard of). I’m so glad people like Cory and Isis and Brittany (to name a few) were willing to chat and give their perspectives.
And naturally, the title is so fitting because that’s such an iconic moment...more
