Loved the characters, the emotion, the feel good moments and the absolutely lovely way the author created these unique characters and made them so relatable. Highly recommended for a comfort read, a hug in book form, or when you need a really good escape into another reality… I most certainly needed all of them this week, and this was just perfect!...more

I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the time period - 1940’s til the 1970’s - and the science and math bits. There’s a couple different love stories that explore the relationships we choose, hold onto, and lose. How consuming they can be and how desperately we need them, but also how they ground and fulfill us and make our lives truly special. Relationships that defy boundaries or labels but are true and defining. The parental relationship is portrayed in such a lovely way, the angst, the confusion, the sadness and misunderstandings, but also the deep love and joy it brings. Wormholes also play a very special role, and some ability to defy logic and reality as we know it is needed. However, the story convinces you it’s not science fiction nor far fetched, just introduced so matter-of-factly that you’ll follow along and wonder why you’ve never found one of your own. And then also the space race and the brilliant brave men and women who got us to the moon. It’s difficult for me to define this story, but I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent and sped through it quickly. ...more

Overall good, just not tyhe story i had hoped it would be....more

It was and I learned some stuff about military assignments in foreign countries, Jordanian culture, and that time amid the Afghan unrest. The characters weren't cookie cutter and the relationships between the military men and their wives, between the wives, and between the wives and Jordanian people were intriguing....more
