Each character is complex, not just our heroes. I like the premise of the book of staying with characters after a horrific event such as this of a months long kidnapping and torture on many levels.
The connection between Cameron and Austin is powerful. I like watching these two love and triumph and rebuild a life. ...more

Buck is gruff, socially awkward, uncommunicative. LOL and yet protective and lovable
Ari left him at the worst possible moment because of his own crap. They were young and a mess and this all makes sense.
Now, Ari is back. He want Buck. Buck is being difficult.
The best scenes for me are the ones from their childhood friendship. I want this closeness after they get together for real and well more hot sexy times.
Gregg can really write but I want fully finished stories. ...more

Why does it have to be a secret? So, for me the main conflict of this book is too drawn out and it would have been a richer love story if we got more time with them as couple living their lives.
They are both complex enough people that conflict could come from who they are and adjusting to being a family....more

This is a great romance. It is realistic and romantic. Ryan is adjusting to life without legs and relationship that ended some time ago but not well. Jos is much younger, has ADHD and is adjusting to the demands of a leadership position in his job as a game designer.
They meet on a plane. Jos has no filter and crushes hard on Ryan. Things work certain ways and they develop a strong friendship and more online and off as Ryan is doing rehab at Walter Reed and Jos is on the West Coast.
They each have rich lives of friends and family.
They grown into a wonderful relationship with each other and become their better selves. There is no miracle for either hero's disability but rather adjustments and integration. Sigh. Good stuff.
Albert does a grand job as a storyteller and you will believe in this sexy happily even after.
Such a great read! Would have loved more in the epilogue but we get to see them in the series and spin off series so all is well. ...more

It has the wonderful Sacromento area setting this time on the river. I know this like might be a quirk of mine because I know the area well but I think everyone can enjoy a book that is so firmly of a place like her books are and that place doesn't have to be glamorous just reach in the kind of details that shape a plot and character.
I love the ADHD aspects of Patrick's character and how when paired with people who don't expect him to be like everyone else, he is loved and learns to love his self.
We get the difference of age and the working out of those issues here like in many of Lane's books.
Whiskey is grumpy and wonderful. Flea Bait also. So, we get this second family fun.
What I love about the book aside from the crazy sauce plot (which I do adore) is all the science and couple time. I love the couple time.

Her world building combine with whole realiszed and oh so human romantic leads that fall in love before my eyes can not be beat.
She has a gift for setting and seeding details of history, fairy tale, place, and skill. Her books are feasts for the emotional as well as physical senses.
This romance is so good. Taking place in France within the perfume industry in a the long history between two families in the shadow of World War II, we get an opposites attract romance with fun twists and turns. Each detail revealed about the hero builds the heroines love even through they have known and cared for each other their whole lives. The heroine is reseen through her and the heroes eyes.
It doesn't matter what the plot is of the book, though it is a good one with a nice pace of before, during and after that so many love stories lack, you just want to be with this couple in this place and with the cast of characters.
The marriage proposal scene is the best I have ever read. The best. The tenderness, the embodiment of who they each are and so so sexy. It is the best scene I have read in a long time. I reread it. Alot. I want to go and reread it now.
A great book that I will be reading from comfort and joy for a long time to come.

But it is such a light read and the hero just adores the heroine and the dragons and symboants are charming...so I like it anyway! ...more

I really enjoyed it! There is great chemistry between the lead characters and the dialogue is snappy. New Zealand is a favorite setting of mine too!
I excited to keep reading this writer. The book hints that there will be more in the series. Yea!
The book is very good and deals with ADHD in the hero is a compelling way. I really liked the relationship between the couple. They were very much themselves and I always like that. The geek stuff was really fun.
It is a sexy book too.
The book kept itself from being a five star for me because it didn't have some of the depth it could have. I understand for some people why it is a two or three star book. For me it works well because It has a lot of troupes I like and is well written. However, the title is awful. The dirty talk in the book is fun and a good part of the plot but not in the way the title implies. The title is very Harlequin and while I really love some Harlequin books, this book could be more. I understand the heroine's self esteem issue are vital to this plot but I do long for a geek heroine who is not insecure.
Overall, I really liked it and can't wait for more in this series.
A copy of this book was given to me for my honest review.
