Nina and Patrick meet as twelve year olds at their Siphoning Ceremony where children are given idium to see if they are artisans (wielders of magical ability) or craftsman (non-magic). On the heels of a life altering discovery, the two children make decisions that alter their futures. Years later the two find themselves on opposite sides of a Revolution. Their chemistry and the tension between them was so good. Their relationship was fraught with secrets, betrayal and genuine emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed how everything played out and the ending left me wanting more.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narration (& accents!) by Billie Fuford-Brown and Joshua Riley. ...more

Princess Odessa was never meant to be Queen. She was used to being overlooked in favor of her sister. So when the prince chooses her to marry and become the Sparrow, no one is more surprised than she is. Forced to leave her family and her home, she soon realizes just how deep she's in over her head. The angst and chemistry here had such incredible build up! When I tell you I was obsessed... I was OBSESSED! Their banter was filled with tension and all their interactions left me wanting more. This was such a delicious slow burn and when the steam finally hit... it HIT!
Aside from the romance I genuinely loved the characters that formed Odessa's found family with their friendships. I was so invested in Odessa's journey and how she grew over the course of the book. And the ending absolutely left me wanting more. Officially counting down to book 2 now.... Highly recommend this one for my fellow romantasy fans! The hype is as real and stunning as these beautiful sprayed edges that I just had to have....more

A Simple Twist of Fate was a magic infused second chance romance between a shape shifter (Jaxon) and a witch (Harlow) who were childhood friends turned lovers. I loved the characters and the witty banter.
This one genuinely made me laugh (there are underwear stealing garden gnomes afoot!) but also had me rooting for Jaxon and Harlow to rekindle the love they once had. Loved the small town aspect and the cast of side characters - it's compared to Gilmore Girls Meets Halloweentown and I think that fits it perfectly. I especially loved Harlow's relationship with her shape shifter goddaughter. This one had core threads of friendship, family and found family tightly woven into the story which made me all the more invested. I hope to see more of these characters in future books. ...more

First of all, look at the gorgeousness that is this edition! But, more importantly - I LOVED the book! I was sucked in immediately by Lyra, Hades and the tournament trials and the feeling never let up throughout the entire book. I had that tug to just keep reading and when I wasn’t able to read, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. It’s been a minute since I felt that intense pull towards a book and I definitely had that with this one. The Games Gods Play is very Hunger Games meets Percy Jackson
Every hundred years a new Olympian God gets crowned King of the Gods through the Crucible tournament. Each God chooses a champion to represent them. Lyra is chosen by Hades to compete in his name in the tournament. All the other Gods are leery that Hades has chosen to compete for the first time. They want to prevent Hades from being the King of the Underworld and King of Olympus too.
I loved how Lyra put others before herself and formed connections with the other contestants, despite their misgivings of Hades. And Hades - ahhhh! I LOVED him! And his dog, Cerberus. This book has great found family vibes, action, adventure, deceit and romance. I’m anxiously awaiting book 2 - that cliffhanger ending… Ahhh! I can’t wait to see where things from here. Highly recommend for my fellow fantasy/romantasy lovers....more

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy - you won't want to miss this series! Ok, this world was amazing. It took a minute to understand the magic system but once I got it, I was all in. I loved the light versus dark theme both with magic, the parts of the faerie land and the siblings.
The romance sucked me in & never let go- I love a good love triangle and this one was so good! Opal, Ferris & Edmyn are HOT!
The action was great - tense filled and emotional battle scenes kept me furiously turning pages. Overall, this was a great start to the Soul Magic series and I can't wait to read book two, Shaedes of Fire. Bring on the dragons!...more

I LOVED book 1, Five Broken Blades so my expectations were high for this book and for the most part, it did not disappoint.
This series is full of found family, adventure, love, deceit and secrets. I am obsessed with Aeri, Royo, Euyn, Sora, Mikail and Tiyung. Our favorite liars are forced on another quest, this time to steal a ring from Chitin’s Queen Regent, in order to save those they love. Told in multiple POVs, there’s lots of action and twists along the way, including death. Also there is a scene stealing moon owl that will absolutely capture your heart. Looking forward to book 3! ...more

This time we focus on Genevieve (sister to from book 1) who reeling from her mother's death, accepts a mysterious invite to visit a friend of her mother's in Italy. She arrives to find herself having the door slammed in her face and being turned away by Rowin Silver. Undeterred, Genevieve makes her way in to the palace only to find that she is now unable to leave... unless she wins Enchantra - a deadly game of hide and seek that can only have one winner.
I lived for Rowin's grumpiness, Genevieve's spunkiness and the sizzling chemistry between them. And do not get me started on his shadows! I genuinely enjoyed the fact that all the game's players were family. They were cut throat siblings but still very much united. The dynamic made it all the more interesting and I was wholly invested. Loving this series & highly recommend!...more

Servant of Earth is book 1 in The Shards of Magic series and I honestly can’t wait for more. It was filled with swoon-worthy romance and HEAT, fae magic, deadly trials, friendship, a cruel tyrant and secret rebellion.
For a 400+ page book, I never felt like things slowed down. I loved Kenna as the MC. She was brave, spirited and had a ferocity that suited her situation well. Trapped as a servant in the underground faerie kingdom of Mistei, Kenna has to help her new mistress pass six deadly trials, one for each branch of magic” fire, earth, light, void, illusion and blood.
Armed with a magical (and bloodthirsty) dagger, she undergoes the trials alongside her mistress in secret, ensuring she completes them successfully. Soon Kenna finds herself caught up in a secret rebellion, trading secrets with not one but two sexy fae. I was so here for this sort-of triangle. What’s not to love about two hot, morally grey fae men, seemingly at odds with each other, vying for her attention. Aside from the romance, the intrigue and political conflict were so good. I was caught up in it all.
