Super romantic, lots of heartache, twists & turns, lots of hero well-intentioned f-ckups that really lead to more heartbreak. Heroine is pretty smart and steady, not much hot-head reactive behavior, but finally when she's had enough, she's like a SCUD missile. Love her sisterly coyote-hybrid friends, very rowdy and fun, I'd love to see more of that in more books. Would loved to have heard more of their bar-fights and kickass parties.
Abstract: Coyote hybrid Del-Ray wants it both ways, he wants Anya as his, but he thinks he'll keep her safe by publicly denying their relationship, just like he denies his brothers. He also thinks he doesn't need to tell her what he's feeling, planning, or what's going on. HA HA! What could possibly go wrong with: A. With our heroine, B. in the human-animal hybrid world with so much betrayal and mistrust?
The series: I'd recommend reading the series in order. It'll be a delicious ride. Love this series!!!...more

Taber & Roni: Set in the hills of Appalachia, this is a fun, action-packed, danger, lots of drama and heartache, hot & steamy read. Taber has looked after Roni as a child as best he could, even though they were both young and poor, and both had secrets they wanted to protect each other from. Taber is secretly an escaped Human-Feline hybrid trained as a super-soldier with hordes of evil baddies trying to re-enslave him. Roni hides the full detail of her father's deeds, he's a very evil abusive drunk that uses her and anybody connected to her. As they grew older, they fell in love, but he always denied it and kept her from getting too close so she wouldn't be endangered. 18-months ago: they almost-almost get together, but something happens, and she is humiliated, heartbroken and they have been avoiding each other ever since in their small Appalachian town. Present day: the news has broken that the human-animal hybrids (Breeds) exist, and she realizes what exactly that love-bite on her neck really is, plus her bizarrely strong yearnings, and she's NOT happy at all with Taber, who seems to have bit & ditched her. Suddenly she realizes her dad has sold her out again for a few dollars, and Taber is forced to rescue her---and then try to keep her safe, despite her extreme anger and distrust of him.
Cover-Art: awful, ignore it, very creepy. It's bad, old videogame screenshots, and I even think videogame art has improved since then (but it's still creepy). Instead, go with a nice picture of a beautifully muscled torso, and partially hide the face with easy-to-photoshop and swap out: lovely long dude-hair, or a hat. ...more

He refuses, just marks her so the "nice" breeds won't touch her. (I don't think this would've stopped her mother or the other psychos). 6 Years later, he kidnaps her and is all furious because Mommy showed him pics of Hope cavorting with other men. This gets resolved very quickly--all in 91 pages.
I think the book could be made better, longer & re-released. It's very short, 91 pages, and almost no romance building. This is sorta a Second-chance romance yet there was no romance building in their initial or Second-chance meeting. This needs some action-adventure, romantic ups-downs-then ups. Make the mother more horrific, if she used the daughter as a lab-rat, it'd be more true to character to use her a ton of times. Have Mommie-dearest keep giving real & fake evidence to Wolfe, make him crazier. Have the trauma of being Mommy's lab-rat make the daughter to do wilder, crazier, angst-ier stuff with her life. Have Mommy-dearest and her pet psychos keep messing with the daughter's mind and body.
Series: I would absolutely recommend reading in-order, there's a lot of characters. I don't think I'd recommend binge-reading, as with most other series & TV shows, that gets a bit repetitive. I'd recommend alternating with other series to get some fresh air....more

Harmony unknowingly exposes Mr. Lucky (Lance) to the Mating Hormone (which couldn't happen if he weren't her "mate"). 2. She takes off still not knowing about the hormone, or that he's her "mate". 3. She finds out the next day, Mr. Lucky turns out to be her NEW boss, and her Breed boss requires her to live with Lance for 6 months. Uh Oh! Lance, introduced in Megan's Mark #7, really gets a chance to develop and shine here, and he is really wonderful. Harmony gets a chance to grow and develop, to change from a "Kill Bill" assassin to something else. Yet, they have to deal with a ton of her enemies.
LOVE Lance & Megan's Native-American family and traditions, love them! Wish there were more with old Grandpa with his Rock & Roll T-shirts & leather pants.

He'd been doing guard duty as a favor to his buddy Dash Sinclair (#3). The wild car-ride to the Breed compound is awesome---poor Kiowa trying to be the good guy and fight off a crazed she-devil Presidential princess. Both characters show some growth in the book, they don't exactly start out in that perfect state--but that would be boring anyway. Amanda's a naive, sheltered, willful gal (similar to early Prince William, Harry & the Bush twins), and antisocial Kiowa's got a big chip on his shoulder, although rightfully so. He's a Coyote-breed, the type all the other breeds hate, plus his upbringing was awful. Cassie (#3) makes a cool appearance.
