It is technically book five in a series but is definitely standalone as it is focuses on an entirely new cast of characters in a different area of Cornwall to the previous books. The main character Meredith isn’t a Christmas fan. The time of year brings up difficult memories and she is at that point of her life where she is a bit lost and directionless. I loved how over the course of the book Meredith starts to find herself and slowly starts to fall back in love with Christmas encouraged by her Christmas loving best friend and a mysterious and handsome stranger called Finn. I loved what this book had to say about the importance of doing whatever it is that makes you happy rather than just pleasing those around you....more

It was really wonderful romantic novel set in the 1920s in Cornwall. I loved being in that world and seeing the glamour of the rich the priviledged through the eyes of the main character who had been invited in. I loved the romance and I loved following the story through. Just a gorgeous summer read....more
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've liked Jenny's books so far but I think is my favourite to date.

I particularly enjoyed what this book had to say about family and being true to yourself rather than putting on a front for others. There is so much in this book I could empathise with. The frustrated daughter home to deal with an emergency having been estranged for a while, the mother and her collection of mugs the family just keep buying because "she likes them" and the whole situation of a family who have struggled to save face for years and buried their head in the sand rather than facing issues that are less than ideal.
I particularly enjoyed who the book balanced the heartfelt against the really funny. The scene with the septic tank in particular made me laugh lots.
All in all a book I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait for more from Jenny....more
