I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to finally get his story in my hands. I don't often fangirl the heck out of myself, but I'm fangirling people!
I already knew that Sven was saved and enslaved by the goddess Freya and was now free to live any life he chose. His parents were alive and he could have a relationship with them, but aside from joining The Brotherhood, he's kept his distance.
And maybe, with the weight of destiny on his shoulders, he'll finally give himself a chance to be truly happy and embrace all of his blessings.
I really enjoyed this story. As the conclusion to an incredible series, I was happy to see most of the past characters make an appearance and in such impactful ways. I loved what blossomed between Sven and Rivka. From the way he hunted her around the world to bring her to justice in the plot against The Brotherhood, to his realizing that all he wanted to do was protect her from any and everyone who might have reason to do her harm. Sven was such an amazing hero and Rivka came into her own in such a wonderful way!
She yearned for his touch, enjoyed his intellect, respected his skills, and admired his dedication to the Brotherhood.
This series made N.J. Walters a must-read and must-buy author for me. There are incredibly gifted heroes, exciting plots and connections, and so much freaking love!

I laughed so hard when Declan broke down his desire for every bit of Suzanne. He totally objectified her, but she did the same to him and it was very hot. Honestly, these two were burning up the pages and I just enjoyed the ride.
Declan is Suzanne's primori and while we don't know why he merits an angel's protection, we know that he'll be protected. What better way to do that then to hire him as a bodyguard, so while he thinks he's guarding Suzanne, she's doing whatever it takes to keep him safe. And when the truth comes out, Declan took it like a champ (while making me laugh). I was thrilled that these two found a way to be together and find some happiness.
There were obviously some tie-ins to the overall Demonica universe and we got to hear from Azagoth and Lilli (what was that about?), Hawkyn, and get glimpses of past and future characters. I'm so upset about what happened to Cipher and am looking forward to reading his book to see what's next for him....more

So I found out that Razr isn't actually a fallen angel. He's an angel being punished for a lapse in duty. His powers are mostly bound, he has to put up with torture on a regular basis, and he's not welcome in Heaven until he fixes his mistake.
Sounds easy compared to his fallen brethren who have less of a chance to make it back home.
Too bad Jedda isn't about to make things easy. She and her sisters stole the gems that Razr and his team were protecting and taking the gem back would kill her. Oh and there's a vicious fallen angel who also wants a piece of her.
I really didn't know where this story was going, but I enjoyed all of it. It's a novella so it all wrapped up quickly and my only complaint was that I didn't get to spend more time with this couple....more

Once upon a time, Z was a warrior angel with his best friend, Laura. They did everything together and made a vow to be everything to each other. Then she fell and she died and Z has been looking for her ever since. Surely no matter who or what she was reborn as, she'd remember him and all they shared, right?
No.
Vex was absolutely nothing like Laura and Z couldn't get past it. She felt so much for him, some of which are her old feelings coming to the surface, but she just wants him to accept her as she is. Is that too much to ask?
I loved the interaction between these two. Vex knew how to push Z's buttons and it was fun to watch....more

The males are insanely hot hunks and the females are incredibly beautiful sirens. Hades, blue mohawk and all, sounded delish and Cat, with her barely-there clothing, seemed to be his match. At least physically. Too bad having a conversation and getting to know each other was impossible. That is until Cat makes a huge mistake and Hades has to be the one to help her out.
I loved the details given for Sheol-gra, such as the Inner Sanctum, the many halls and grounds that made up the different tiers of life in this realm, and everything in between. I definitely wouldn't want to live there, even as a soul, and I'm happy that there's a place suitable for even the good demons. That was a seriously nice touch.
This forbidden romance was surprisingly sweet and I was so happy to see Hades get some happiness in his life....more

For thousands of years, Revenant believed the worst about himself. When the truth of who he really is, that he's an actual heavenly angel, is revealed to both him and Reaver, he finds himself in crisis—about his identity, his past, and his future. The author did an incredible job of showing his inner conflict and getting me to fall in love with a bad guy who really ain't that bad.
Blaspheme was a mystery and it was fun trying to figure out the truth. I knew she was hiding behind the False Angel identity, but was she truly an abomination? And what would happen when Rev finally learned her truth?
What I loved the most about this story was how these two defended each other. They made mistakes, tons of them, but they were willing to fall on a sword to save the other.
I only wish that parts of this story weren't so vague. Was that intentional? Well, we've got one thousand years to figure out how to truly defeat Satan and I'm excited to see what the author will do with that....more

He was scrumptious in the darkest way and I loved the hidden depths to his character. Dude's an empath, he's not really a fallen angel, he's super powerful (especially in his realm), and he deserved someone special. I think Lilli was that person. She was strong and kind and despite coming to him with an agenda, she fell for him as easily as I did. I love how Sheol-gra was coming to life so beautifully in the end and I hope to see more of these two in future stories....more

I didn't blame the guy for what he did when he was Pestilence and I'm pissed that his family couldn't do better sooner. These Horsemen are prophesied: if their seals break, they turn evil. Reseph's seal broke and he did EXACTLY WHAT WAS PREDICTED. And everyone blames him for not fighting his evil side harder. Poor thing.
So Reaver saved Reseph from certain insanity and our dude had no memory of who he was beyond his name. Jillian finds him unconscious in the snow and takes him home to help him. He miraculously heals quickly and they have an instant connection, despite Jillian's hesitation due to past trauma, and I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And drop it did. Hard.
Pestilence isn't actually gone and all the baddies are trying to get him to resurface. The Aegis losers are still on the loose, believing their way is the right way. Kynan and friends have created DART and I'm guessing they'll be the real good humans for the stories going forward. And the bond between the siblings is an absolute mess. Reseph grows as a person, although he's so much more than a person (half angel and demon, remember?) and I loved how Jillian brought out all of the awesome this male was keeping to himself. My guess about Reaver and Harvester has been confirmed and I'm really looking forward to their story, which I think is next.
Oh and spoiler...
Lilith is gone. But I don't really understand this because she appears in the next gen book, Legacy of Temptation. I guess I'll have to find out in the following books how this is possible.

I will start this off by saying that Regan almost ruined this book for me. In the beginning, she was just awful. She knew she did Thanatos wrong, but I will start this off by saying that Regan almost ruined this book for me. In the beginning, she was just awful. She knew she did Thanatos wrong, but she kept antagonizing him. Which was fun because I lived for Than trying to terrorize this woman, but I wanted her to own her shit and move this romance-and-an-apocalypse-and-a-baby-story along.
Than was a hopeless romantic who didn't have a clue how to woo a woman. His deepest desire was to have a family of his own, but when his wish is about to be granted, he finds out that his brother is out to destroy everything. Than's son-to-be is his agimortus and if he's killed, Than will become Death. So everyone is desperate to prevent this from happening, Pestilence has gotten so much worse, and the world as we know it is on the brink of disaster. But there's hope and if all the parts can come together at one exact moment, if they can figure out a way to cure or kill Pestilence, then everything should work out.
Is it wrong of me that I felt absolutely terrible for Reseph? Seriously, when he remembers everything he did as Pestilence, he won't be the same fun-loving male everyone adored. And how will people react to him when they know what he did when he went to the dark side?
His book is next and I can't wait to find out!...more
Lore is an assassin and we met him back when he was being paid to kill the Seminus brothers. Who also happened to be HIS brothers, but he didn't know Lore is an assassin and we met him back when he was being paid to kill the Seminus brothers. Who also happened to be HIS brothers, but he didn't know that at the time. It's all water under the bridge... sorta. Because his latest task is to kill Kynan — you know, the guy he saved in the last book. Doing so will alienate his newfound family, but not doing it will see his sister destroyed. Oh, and Kynan is protected in more ways than anyone knows. How is Lore to complete his mission when a gorgeous angel is standing in his way?
Idess is that angel. She's an almost-angel tasked with protecting her primori and Kynan is one of them. But someone out there is targeting her charges and there is so much more to this plot than even I expected. I was thrilled with the forbidden element to what Idess and Lore shared and I was entertained by this book right up until its last page.
Ever get so distracted by the story that when a twist comes up that you should have predicted but didn't, all you can do is shake your head and laugh at yourself? Well, that was me. I knew something was coming, but the author wrote this story in such a way that I was wholly enamored with the characters and forgot to suss out the twist that knocked me on my ass.

I loved the banter. I loved all of the side stories for some of the characters. I can't even explain how much I started to love Ruhn in this book. His storyarc blew me away and I'm hoping to see more of it in the book to come. Ithan had a really neat story that seemed to be happening, although it seemed to lose some momentum along the way. And then Tharion... I have NO IDEA where his part of the story is going. But I'm excited to find out!
The next book can't come into my hands soon enough. That ending was INSANE! I knew that I'd be diving off a cliff, but I wasn't expecting it to be like this. I didn't think I'd be so freaking crushed at the end of it. I'm terrified, excited, and super anxious to find out what will happen next. ...more

Nightshade was dark and depraved. Gothic and gruesome. Dirty and a bit disgusting. Nightshade was utterly delicious!!
Who knew reading over 600 pages of gothic PNR would be just what I needed?
I can't even give you anything about the plot or characters without giving some vital piece of this story away. Know that Jericho is an immortal who would make any woman want to be deserving of him. I love my soul, but... And Farryn was as annoying as any almost virginal, somewhat pure female would be, but she had a knack for hitting all of the right notes with me. So while she frustrated me, she made me cheer her on. While she had me rolling my eyes hard, she also made me smile and hope and dream.
I could have done without the extremely slow build, but then again, this story probably wouldn't have worked as well as it did if it were any faster. The world building was seriously on point!
Guessing the truth is easy, but knowing the truth, living the truth, understanding the truth... I'm still unsure what the truth really is. I'm kinda loving this opaque bubble I'm living in right now.

After rescuing Lila, she went off the grid and Rayce has been searching for her ever since. He's supposed to be looking for her for his friend, the Lord of the Dark, but all he wants to do is protect her from anything that can hurt her—even if it means saving her from himself. But what happens when even his best intentions lead them down a dangerous path?
As a fallen angel, Lila has no idea what's happening to her. But something is definitely happening to her and the author did a great job of capturing her fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. However, with all of her doubts, there was one thing (or one person) she was pretty sure of... Rayce.
And I couldn't get enough of Rayce.
As an Alpha werewolf, he was wild, he was fierce, he was dominating and controlling, but he was also kind and sweet and generous and loving and amazing.
With tons of action, this story had me turning the pages very quickly and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series.

I figured it was probably because this author and her books were new to me. This book gave me exactly what I thought was missing in the first one... THE ROMANCE!!
I also found this one a bit creepier than expected. There are zombies and yet they don't look like the walking dead. If it weren't for Raphael's super senses and Elena's keen nose, they could pass as vamps. It was heartbreaking and scary. And it was awesome!
The politics between the archangels was still just as entertaining and for some reason, I couldn't get enough of Lijuan. I wonder what role she'll play in the stories to come.
I'm still kind of reserving judgment because while I definitely liked this story, I'm still not in love, but if the author builds on everything I've read here, I can only see a better reaction on my part.
And I'm off to read Archangel's Consort because not only can I not get enough of this author's writing, but... Raphael!!

Dante was an angel/Sentinel who was cast out of Heaven because he was infected by a Wraith. As the evil slowly progressed through his system, he had to battle both sides of himself - the good and the evil. He finally found the last piece he needed to perhaps transform himself back into who he was when his brother gives him a new mission - protect the human, Alyssa.
Alyssa was completely unaware of the supernatural, despite her grandmother being the most powerful mage. When she was confronted by an evil witch, Dante had to convince her to put her trust in him and the unknown. She was forced to accept everything that was hidden from her. Not only were the stories her grandma told her true, but she herself was a powerful force... a syphon.

This book had so much going on and so many people... ❥ Shamar - he's the keeper of souls. He has the unique job of giving and taking life, being the son of Death himself. In his long life, he's never been affected by anyone the way he's been affected by Simone. Her beauty, her grace, her purity draw him in like a moth to a flame. I've found a new author to stalk champion! N.J. Walters... where the heck have you been all of my life? I feel like I've been missing so many opportunities to fall in love with your words and your characters because Maccus and Morrigan were two examples of how incredibly talented you are!
Some people had resting bitch face - he had resting badass face.
Maccus Fury ↠ once an angel, he was betrayed by Gabriel and spent centuries battling for survival in the pits of hell. His time there turned him into a battle-weary warrior, a feared assassin known as The Hunter, the fiercest and strongest male alive, and a threat to all higher beings. An unwarranted enemy of both Gabriel and Lucifer, he becomes a player in a game he doesn't know the rules to. Gabriel wants him to kill Morrigan Quill, a demon hunter who carries an innocence and a light to her. She's the one person who is able to truly touch him, to unleash his emotions. Will she be the one to nurture the dwindling light of his soul?
He tasted like coffee with a hint of some exotic spice. Mixed with the natural taste of hot, sexy male, it was downright addictive.
Morrigan Quill ↠ a desperate attempt to save her sister had her sacrificing her soul to Lucifer. Destined for Hell, she's trained to become a demon hunter and she's darn good at her job. When the big boss orders her to kill in exchange for wiping her contract clean, how can she refuse? She was willing to do just about anything to guarantee her and her sister's freedom. But what happens when she realizes that the man she's supposed to kill can't be killed? At least not by her. And he may be the one person who can make her feel free.
She tasted sweet, like a sugary candy he'd had once from a small shop outside of Paris. Addictive.
From the intriguing world building to the action-packed and suspenseful plot to the intriguing, I-can't-get-enough-of-them characters, I was easily captivated by this story. My only complaint is that it has taken me this long to indulge in a story by Walters. Maccus was delicious, Morrigan was endearing, and I'm looking forward to what's next in this series....more

When we first met Uriel, he was tortured and chained to a dark witch who had bespelled him with black magic, dampening his powers to have her wicked way with him. His unrelenting strength and his vow of vengeance kept him going. In a life full of darkness, there was one bright light - another witch with compassion in her eyes and a burgeoning need to ease his pain. But how can one of them be a beacon of hope? Once rescued, Uriel lived to fulfill his promise, to satisfy his thirst for revenge and only one person could help him deliver... Nadya, the same witch who was there during his time of captivity. I was so excited to read about how Uriel and Nadya not only got their revenge, but how they found eternal love. Cross never fails to deliver and this story definitely gets my ringing endorsement - one of the BEST reads of 2019!
Uriel in his black garb was striking. Uriel in his plated armor was magnificent. But Uriel in nothing but a white towel wrapped around his waist and beads of water covering his perfectly sculpted and bronzed chest was utterly devastating.
Juliette Cross has brought the Dominion series to a close with a fantastic bang. There was tons of action, I got to see my beloved Dommiel, and those fighting pits really came to life for me. Am I sad to see it all go? Of freaking course! Not only have I met and loved some amazing demons and fallen angels, but I just met an incredible archangel and I want more. However, I'm thrilled with everything I got and all that I've read and I can't wait to see what this author will gift us with next!
