It's in His Kiss (Bridgertons, #7)
by
this was … most pleasing. actually i’ll use better words, this is probably my favorite alongside anthony’s. i’m currently struggling to decide which i like more but i must say,, hyacinth & gareth got my heart pitter-pattering. cannot believe i’m coming to the realization, as i write this, that gareth is undeniably more charming than anthony. and hyacinth a bit more endearing than kate.
i hate that i’m comparing it to kanthony but their chemistry was unparalleled. at least until i got to this book. the couple in this particular novel is different which is why i think that kanthony and H&G are equal in chemistry due to their differences. H&G have banter thats slightly self-deprecating and flirty. hyacinth love for speaking her mind has both me and gareth obsessed it seems.
gareth was simply sooooo????? charming. i believe that’s the best word. bc even when he was acting slightly like an ass i still adored him. i was already in his side, but when he decided he was going to marry hyacinth i wanted to scream. those two were perfect bc hyacinth also had a similar realization. she just knew she was going to marry him. I LOVE IT.
the little plot with his parentage + grandmothers diary was fun. i loved that it wasn’t a huge deal but a good part of the plot. it was quite sweet to see them working together and slowly falling in love as they solved a mystery and faced their own internal struggles.
