Master Manipulator

I enjoyed this little "Thriller Filler" read that worked perfectly for me after a dark and anxiety producing novel!

Yes, we have to suspend a little belief, but it works just fine. Cassie is working a thankless temp job at a law firm. She is reviewing emails for a huge fraud suit. Sounds boring, but Cassie stumbles across some personal emails between one of the power lawyers and his loving wife. Click, click ..... she falls further and further down the rabbit hole.

She finds out personal information about the happy couple and just has to try their favorites for herself- expensive wine, shampoo, scents and perfumes. The stalking turns into obsession and before long she is in way over her head.

This one reminded me of The Photographer by Mary Dixie Carter, except with a legal twist. I love legal thrillers/ settings and the author is a former corporate lawyer.

A runaway train with some sharp, witty, darkly funny moments. Looking forward to her next book!

Melissa ~ Bantering Books Great review, Holly! I feel like I wanna read this one. I know I will have to suspend some belief, but I think it might not be so much that it will take me over my threshold of how much I can handle. We will see, though. :)

Melissa (Always Behind) I made the same comparison but I agree with Michael, this one was better than The Photographer because the character was a bit more fleshed out. Great review!
