it was amazing

If you’re looking for the gold standard in Trump books, Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s “Peril” is it. I’m not saying that because it was written by Bob Woodward (I thought his two previous books about the Trump administration were “okay, not great”). It’s good because of what Woodward and Costa cover in their book. Everything from Covid, the election, the riots of January 6, and past few months.

As per usual in a Bob Woodward book, the topic - Donald Trump’s final year in office - was thoroughly investigated. The authors seemed to know the right questions to ask their interviewees, and that can make all the difference in an expose. Is “Peril” an expose? Yep, and a very good one.

As an addendum, I heard an interview with Robert Costa, who said, when asked about the book’s title, that he and Woodward thought Donald Trump was not through with politics and was therefore a “peril”. I agree fully with him and only wish the people who SHOULD read this book would read it…

Lilo I am afraid the people who should read this book, won't.

Jill Meyer LILO, that’s pretty true about most political books, from both ends of the political spectrum.

That's for sure. But during the past 6 years, I haven't seen any of the Left to behave anywhere near as stupid as those of the Right. And the "yellow-haired Hitler" surely doesn't read anything other than financial statements.

Jill Meyer I doubt if he even read many financial statements. He seems to be a rather incurious sort and depended on others to actually do his work.

Jill Meyer LILO, you have 21 cats? I’m down to one cat, from a high of three.

We, meanwhile, have 23. It was 21 some time ago. Meanwhile, some old cats have died (one, sadly, having contracted Covid from uns), and new ones have been adopted (deserted by a rotten neighbor who moved away), and yesterday, a new stray showed up. We now also have only one dog left, and he went blind from an autoimmune disease. And we only have 2 surviving chickens left. The others were murdered by raccoons. We had an "Alcatraz" built for our chickens, but the guys who built it had left one weak spot.

I had the same thought. He is probably not even reading financial statements.
