** spoiler alert ** Could've been better..
Sadie girl annoyed the heck out of me! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Childhood sweethearts whose love wasn't strong enough to survive the pressure of adulting, ambitious career, and years of LDR. All these are TOLD or mentioned only; no flashbacks, no showing. Except for the prologue, all chapters are in present time.

For me to understand the depth of Sadie's (h) heartache or disappointment or resentment towards Jack (H), I need to witness first hand the fall of their relationship, the mistakes, the break up.
But since I didn't, I saw h as a bit immature, and her bitchiness for more or less 90% of the book made me almost DNF, but H's really a sweetheart so I persevered.

I'm aware that abuse survivors cope differently. But I also know that the author could've written a better plot for Sadie.
h didn't tell anyone about her assault other than her gay bestfriend roomie Ricky. That's fine, that's her choice.
Then how did she deal with the assault? Thru her arts and paintings. The attacker (who was simply described as tattooed SoCal surfer) even attended her art exhibit! 🤦🏻‍♀️
As a reader, that made me uncomfortable. It was also cringy that she basically ignored the support and resources within her grasp.

She's a daughter of a famous, rich sports celeb.
H, her soulmate and ex, loves her beyond reason.
Her parents live in Las Vegas;
H in New York;
h in San Diego where she's in college and works part-time in catering, AND also the same city where her attacker lives freely!
I can only deal with so much stubbornness. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyway, H made some mistake but it didn't make an impact on me cuz I'm still annoyed on h. 😬
