Jack and Sadie were inseparable from childhood and grew up to be sweethearts, they were sure that their love was the forever kind that not even four years of college could separate..... Jack's determination to succeed however derailed their plans

*******
Ok so I didn't read the previous series and this was a second generation but I didn't feel lost

The logical part of me thinks this was one of the most realistic second chance romances I've ever read, it is entirely plausible that young love just couldn't hold up under the strain of being separated and their views and personalities changing. Jack went from a young boy contented with his lot in life to a man chasing more. He lived a more flashy life in the big city than they'd originally planned and was a serious workaholic while Sadie remained a bit insecure because of her learning disability but contented with the simple things in life. The romantic in me is pissed that they messed up such a sweet love 😂 Jack started missing dates with Sadie, calls and letting more and more time pass before he went back home so they just drifted apart.

While the reason for their separation may be believable I don't understand how he could love her so much and want her back but the only way he ended up chasing her again was because he....bumped into her??? Uh so what if he hadn't?? Would they have both moved on? How could he claim a forever love when we didn't even see him thinking of her during their time apart?

After Jack stops calling Sadie tried dating and was attacked while on a date. That incident severely impacted on her and accounted for part of her resistance to giving Jack another chance, I admire her courage in putting her attack into her art and was happy to see her slowly move on but I like my bad guys to get their just desserts.... I wanted that POS beaten and bloodied since he wasn't charged but I'm trying to be content with her healing

While a part of me is happy that Sadie didn't give into Jack immediately I did feel that it just dragged too long, maybe it's because I thought he was genuinely remorseful and really loved her but in my head I kept saying ok Sadie girl throw the guy a bone would ya!??

The most beautiful thing for me in this second chance romance was not only that they seemed to be genuinely in love but also that there were no OP in the years in between!!!!! Woo hoo kudos to the author I'm so very very grateful that Jack didn't turn into a manwhore during the separation! He and Sadie both tried to move on but to Jack all the women were missing something ( and he didn't even get up in their coochies to find this out!!) And Sadie made an attempt that unfortunately went very badly

All in all this was sweet, sexy and at times a little bit slow but for a hero celibate during a separation?? I'm on cloud fricking 9!

description

"We were made to be together. No one will ever take your place, not in my heart or in my life."

Jack & Sadie is a (childhood) friends-to-lovers second-chance romance. Jack is the son of Blake and Layla from Fighting to Forgive, and Sadie is the daughter of Jonah and Raven from Fighting for Flight. I love the Fighting series so I was pretty excited when I heard Jamie was writing this book. We get a little taste of Jack and Sadie in Uncaged: A Fighting for Flight Short Story, where Sadie is seventeen and going on her first real date with Jack. This book starts off with Jack leaving for college on the other side of the country, but they promise each other that they will start their new life together when they are done with school. However, four years is a long time and sometimes not everything goes as planned.

"It was like I'd gone so long without the missing piece of my soul, I'd forgotten it was even missing. But after seeing you again, the emptiness I feel without you is unbearable."

I enjoyed this book a lot, but I wish there were a couple of flashbacks to get a feel of their relationship in the past. Normally, I am not a big fan of flashbacks, but I felt like it would've been a great addition in this story. There were a couple of heartbreaking scenes in this book, and my heart went out to Sadie. Jack is persistent and really loves her. It was obvious these two were made for each other, and I loved seeing them come together again. I also loved that we got reunited with the couples from the Fighting series, and it really made me want to reread their stories. Jack & Sadie was a romantic and emotional second-chance romance, and I really didn't want to say goodbye to the characters. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I still highly recommend you check out the Fighting series.

I really do enjoy this book very much. Thanks to Jack. He is that kind of perfect boyfriend. He won me at the art of groveling. Now that is groveling. Miss Salsbury brings groveling to the next level. I also love the way how the author handle such delicate matter with respect. Trigger warning there is a sexual assault in this book.

Jack has been in love with Sadie all his life. Due to misunderstanding, life, and miscommunication tear them apart. Again, Jack stood up like a perfect hero in every occasion. Like I said he is that perfect boyfriend. The characters develop well. Even though Sadie character kind of mysterious at first. The author shadowing her past before it finally reveals.

The story is simple enough but Miss Salsbury manages to bring all of that sweet romantic feeling in the story. This is a great book.

Overall I do enjoy the book very much.

Jack & Sadie was the first spinoff from the Fighting Series. Jack was Blake and Lila’s son while Sadie was Jonah and Raven’s daughter.

I loved everything about this book. I read it straight through in one day. It was an emotional journey about love, heartbreak, tragedy, growth, healing and new beginnings. It had a little bit of everything and I loved it all.

Update: I unexpectedly re-read this on 1/26/2020 and loved it all the same. I read it non-stop and couldn’t put it down. I loved both Jack & Sadie. It’s still totally 5 star. And I’d love to see a story for Ricky as well...hint hint!

Well... J.B. Salsbury never disappoints me! I love her writing style - It's like I'm a part of the plot and know her characters for years... And thank god, she did it again! 👑👏

📚 "We were made to be together. No one will ever take your place, not in my heart or in my life." 📚

Jack and Sadie were inseparable from the moment they were born, so it wasn't a surprise that their friendship has develop into a huge love... until Jack leaves Vegas to attend college on the other side of the country. 😱
Despite the distance, they promise they will start their life together as soon as Jack graduates. But despite their promises, they grew apart...
Until one day, they meet again at Jack's best friend wedding, where Sadie works as a waitress. ❤

Both have changed... Jack has become power and money driven while Sadie is no longer the naive and the optimistic girl she was... But one thing remains – their fiery chemistry. 🔥🔥🔥

📚 "It was like I'd gone so long without the missing piece of my soul, I'd forgotten it was even missing. But after seeing you again, the emptiness I feel without you is unbearable." 📚

Sadie is not ready to open herself, so Jack has to think of a creative way to get her back. He will do anything... lie and deceive for her to be his again - But what happens when the truth blows up in their faces?
What has happened to Sadie since they broke up?
And will their love overcome their differences?

Wow, what an emotional experience! ❤
I loved the characters, the plot and the writing. This book is a second chance, friends-lovers romance at it's finest... Emotional, heartwarming and even funny!!! 😍

📚 “It’s just me. Jackson.”
I scrunch up my nose. “When did you stop going by Jack?”
He lifts his brows. “It’s hard to be taken seriously in the professional world with the name Jack Daniels.” 📚

I haven't read the Fighting series yet (shame on me! 🙈), but I didn't feel anything was missing (this book can be read as a standalone) - However, it totally made me want to start the series RIGHT NOW! 🎉

So I just have to say thank you dear, for another perfect book that stole a piece of my heart!!! 💔

📚 "I’ve always wondered what people meant when they said falling into the arms of someone you love feels like coming home. I get it now." 📚

I absolutely loved this book.

I have read some of the original Flight series, though not all and this is a second generation story.

This is a second chance romance, one of my favourite genres but sometimes they really work and sometimes they really don't.

I found the circumstances these two break up realistic.

They are childhood sweethearts.
Their families know each other so they grew up together and they have always been for each other.
They both know that Jack has to go away to study and sort out his career for 4 years and the story starts with them preparing for that thinking nothing can come between them.
Jack finds the pressure offering successful in a dog eat dog world too much and he looses touch with Sadie, always intending to come back for her but finding that success is always pushing for more.
Sadie decides part way through the 4 years that she can't stay where she is waiting for Jack, her whole life being about Jack so she too starts to pursue her life.

This is really easy to see, although they love each other, they are very young to put their life on hold and you can see how distance and pressure of living away distracts.

The first chapter starts with Jack and Sadie running in to each other unexpectedly.

The only issue I had with the whole reunion was if he hadn t run into her nothing in their lives would have changed.
Jack sees her, becomes obsessed with connecting with her again , becomes distracted at work, all the things he abandoned Sadie for he abandons for her now, I found this a bit hard to understand as he is so obsessed with her before and after.

During the separation despite misunderstandings and misinterpretations neither have been with anyone else despite offers and the way things may appear to others.

Spoiler ******

The heroine tried to date after they broke up and was sexually assaulted. It's not detailed at the time of the attack but she does relate some details to Jack later and struggles with being intimate.

It is incredibly funny at times, the banter is hilarious esp as Jack gets himself in a situation with an app that's really good.

HEA.
Epilogue.

Secondary characters that could have possible future storylines developing through the series and updates of previous characters in other series by the author.

Really good read. Well deserved 4 stars.

4.5 swoon-filled second-chance stars

Oh, I love a second-chance-romance, and JB Salsbury has given us a beautifully written, emotional, passionate and swoony love story that I have been desperate to read. Jack and Sadie’s story was well worth the wait, and I was captivated from start to finish.

I was so freaking excited to get my hands on this book, a Fighting series follow on - Sadie is Jonah's (Fighting for Flight) daughter and Jack is Blake's (Fighting to Forgive) son. We saw a glimpse of their love story in Uncaged: A Fighting for Flight Short Story, where after spending their childhoods completely wrapped up in each other, a teenaged Jack and Sadie have their first date, and this book continues their story, showing us the two of them madly in love in high school and planning for a future together after Jack finishes his four years away at College.

We were soul mates, destined to be together forever. From the moment I remember having life, she was in it. Sadie was my first love. My first everything. She was mine, and I was hers.

The story then shifts to five years in the future where Jack and Sadie are apart and living very separate lives. But when they unexpectedly run into each other again, Jack is completely shaken and he realises that he wants his Sadie back.

“It was like I'd gone so long without the missing piece of my soul, I'd forgotten it was even missing. But after seeing you again, the emptiness I feel without you is unbearable.”

But Sadie has been through a lot in their time apart and she has changed. She’s no longer the girl she once was, and though she misses Jack terribly, she’s not able to let him back in. It’s a heartwrenching situation and it sets the stage for a slow-burning second chance romance as Jack goes all out to get his girl back.

“I believe in us. Since we were little and you’d play tea party with all my Dino Trucks. I knew you were it for me. I got off course and fucked things up, but I’m back on track and I’m coming for you, Sadie Slade.”

There’s something about a romantic hero putting everything on the line to win back the woman he loves, and I was completely sucked in to Jack’s torment and heartache as he came to realise exactly what he let go when he and Sadie parted ways. He is open with Sadie about his feelings, which I loved, and he didn’t hold anything back in reconnecting with her and letting her know exactly what he was feeling.

“We were made to be together. No one will ever take your place, not in my heart or in my life.”

Sadie’s part of the story is equally as emotional. She’s dealing with some pretty big issues, and she has quite the journey ahead of her. But with Jack determinedly pursuing her, she slowly begins to open up to her old best friend, and I was swept up in all of the swoon as they find their way back to each other.

There are hurdles along the way – reveals, twists, and some questionable behaviour – but it all works to show the development of the characters as they deal with the past, figure out what is important, and then fight to claim it. It’s emotional and romantic and beautifully written, and I was feeling it all as Jack and Sadie pushed and pulled their way to their swoon-filled happy ending.

With every single part of my being, I am in love with you. There hasn’t been a single second of my life that I can remember when I wasn’t in love with you.”

There are cameos from the Fighting crew, Jack and Sadie’s families in particular, and I loved seeing them again – especially the scenes with Jonah and Blake still bickering and teasing each other mercilessly. But you can read this book as a standalone.

This is a gorgeously written book, and I loved it.

4.5 stars.

I loved it! At first it seemed to me that he was doing very well without her for the first time they were apart (5 years). I doubted that their love really was all they said. But I must confess that he totally redeemed himself in my eyes! He took extra points for remaining celibate throughout the years of separation. And she for not giving in so easily to the apology the second time they broke up (6 Months)! Totally safe! I do recommend it!

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
=====================

“You promised the girl the world, then left and never looked back.”

The sooner I can get a hold of Sadie and put all my concerns to rest, the sooner I can get back to focusing on work.

Her twenty-first birthday. Fuck. I’d had plans to fly out and spend the weekend with her but ended up cancelling last minute to go to a dinner party with two CEOs of a prestigious ad firm.

I’m going to figure it out, because I’ve decided I want you back.”

Until he moved to the big city and got a taste of what it’s like to be a big shot.

Jack didn’t only forget the promises he made when he left. He also forgot me.

“You understand when you left for college, you promised her you’d be back and never came back, right?”

After he stopped calling, I missed feeling loved and cherished by someone else.

“I can’t see myself living in New York. Maybe you could move to San Diego?” The words are barely out of my mouth and he’s shaking his head. “It would be stupid to give up my job. I make great money.”

An author that seems to have listened to a few of us. That ask for a real second chance. But I must say the rape ruined this book for me. She tries to move on and that happens. I didn’t believe in their love. I think that when you love someone nothing keeps you away. This guys was fine without her and he continued to be a total jerk. Wanting her to change he life for him but him not wanting to do the same. Can’t have it all.

This is my first book by this author, and what caught my attention was that it was a second chance story. I really love this kind of story, but unfortunately I don't think this book was for me, here I couldn't find the connection I love so much in books on this topic.

My biggest problem with this book was the protagonist of this story, Jack was a character with everything I hate and I couldn't connect with him at any time. I really couldn't connect with the characters or be captivated by this story. But those are just leave my impressions of the book, and what didn't work for me might work for you.

~ 5 Best Part of Me Stars ~

Fighting for Flight is still one of my ALL TIME favorite books by JB Salsbury, so when I heard she was writing a next generation book for Sadie and Jack, I couldn’t contain my excitement!!! I love when authors take us back into their characters lives with their kids.

Jack & Sadie is a story about first love, forgiveness, healing and second chances. This book is a friends to lovers second chance romance that I would recommend to all romance readers. I LOVED every word of this story. It was great being back in the Fighting Series world but also in a new world created for Jack and Sadie.

This book had all the feels you want in a 5 star read. I was laughing at times, crying at times, yelling (with threats of throwing my kindle) and falling in love too. There were also some really steamy scenes ;) This book is a standalone novel told in Dual POV. You don’t have to read the first two book of the Fighting Series to enjoy this book. Jack and Sadie story is completely separate from that series because they are now grown up and living on their own. We do see Jonah, Raven, Blake and Layla in this story, but they are there strictly as supporting character for Jack and Sadie.

As you can see this story follows the love story of Jack and Sadie. Jack is the son of Blake and Layla (Fighting to Forgive Book 2) and Sadie is the daughter of Jonah and Raven (Fighting for Flight Book 1). Sadie and Jack have literally known each other since they were born. Over time things changed for them and they became a couple. Each experiencing first love and planning their future together once college is over. To bad things don’t always go as planned when we are so young and immature. Fast forward 5 years and a chance reunion and Jack’s friend’s wedding, Jack sees Sadie again after not seeing her for close to 2 years. Jack is immediately entranced by Sadie again and is determined to get her back. Little does he know, she’s not the same Sadie he once knew and love. Sadie has lead a sheltered life growing up being protected by a overprotective dad, so when she was left behind by Jack, she wants to live life and moves to San Diego. There life has taught her some hard lessons. Will Jack be able to get his old Sadie back?? What happens when Sadie sees Jack has changed too?? Can they overcome their differences and find that forever love again?? Read this book to find out.

JB Salsbury’s books always suck me in and don’t let go until I am finished. I truly didn’t want Jack and Sadie’s book to end. I truly loved these two characters. Yes they both had their flaws, but that is what made them relatable. I thought this book was written flawlessly. JB took a serious subject matter and wrote it with poise and grace, but also got her point across. I know for a fact I will be reading this book again in the future. I actually want to go back now and reread Fighting for Flight.

If you are a fan of a friends to lovers, second chance romance then this is a book you should read. This will be going on my Best of 2019 list for sure!! Add this book to your TBR list NOW!!!

Honestly I don’t know where to start... this book was amazingly emotional!!Throughout this book I cried with the characters and fell in love with both of them!
♦️
When meeting Jack and Sadie in the first chapter they just graduated high school and have been together forever but that soon changes when Jack goes away to college.
As life gets away from Jack and he fails to follow through on his promise to Sadie they fall out of contact but that doesn’t mean they fall out of love!
♦️
Throughout their time apart Sadie goes through some very very difficult times and throws herself into her artwork, which becomes a way of healing. Through a chance meeting Jack sees Sadie after almost 2 years of no contact and realizes how many feelings he still has for her. The fight to get back together is going to be the fight of his life so be ready for the emotional ride!!
♦️
To find out if they find their way back to each other be sure to read Jack and Sadie when it comes out in October!! One quote that really resonated with me in this book was, “Insufficient trauma.” Once you read this book you will understand how significant these two words are and how much meaning they have!

second chance romance is always the tricky one for me...

who was wrong , who was right when the life takes its own course and you just play the part of breathing but not really living...

J.B. Salsbury is giving us a VIEW into growing apart, then bringing the ties back together with such an emotional insightful growth and change (especially Jack) even though it took him some time to do that...*sigh* men...LOL

anyway, giving some angsty segments to this utterly emotional voyage, you will root for this couple to stay that way even when they are so far away from even knowing what that entails...

Could've been better..
Sadie girl annoyed the heck out of me! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Childhood sweethearts whose love wasn't strong enough to survive the pressure of adulting, ambitious career, and years of LDR. All these are TOLD or mentioned only; no flashbacks, no showing. Except for the prologue, all chapters are in present time.

For me to understand the depth of Sadie's (h) heartache or disappointment or resentment towards Jack (H), I need to witness first hand the fall of their relationship, the mistakes, the break up.
But since I didn't, I saw h as a bit immature, and her bitchiness for more or less 90% of the book made me almost DNF, but H's really a sweetheart so I persevered.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

“Since I was aware you existed, I have been in love with you.”

Oh my heart, this story. 5 beautiful stars. J.B. Salsbury is one of my go to authors because she never disappoints. I know when I finish reading one of her books, I will feel like I know her characters, and I will regret that the story is over. That was true with Jack & Sadie; such a simple title for a beautifully intricate book. I could feel the love these two shared as I turned each page. Their love wasn’t perfect, but love rarely is. Despite some of the choices he made, Jack has a beautiful heart and he loves Sadie with all of it. Sadie is a strong female character. She dealt with a devastating experience with creativity and she stood her ground to Jack when she needed to. Blake and Jonah add their usual funny banter, and the love and unconditional support they give to their kids makes the story even more beautiful. This is a must read if you are a fan of the Fighting Series. If you haven't read the Fighting Series yet, what are you waiting for?! However, this book can be read as a standalone.

I was so excited for this book as I loved their parents stories and Sadie and Jack didn’t disappoint. Sadie and Jack have been in each other’s life from the beginning, each other’s first plans for the future set but when Jack goes to college in NY and Sadie stays behind the distance changes things. A chance meeting makes Jack realize what he’s missed but Sadie isn’t the same girl, life hasn’t been as smooth.
I loved their journey, all the bumps, Sadie’s strength, Jack’s realization of what’s really important.
From the first page it sucked me in and didn’t let go until the last page.

Have you ever read a book where you wanted to stop halfway through? This is what I wanted to do with Jack and Sadie but not for the reasons you think. The book was at a point where everything was perfect, but I knew things were about to hit the fan and I didn't want to read it. I wanted everyone to stay happy. But, I had total confidence that JB Salsbury was going to make it all better. This book, Jack & Sadie is a definite must read from author JB Salsbury.

Jack & Sadie have been a thing since they were babies. When you have famous dads of the UFL, Blake Daniels and Jonah Slade, you are part of a bigger family where everyone has your back. But now, they are grown up (there dads, not so much) and living their own lives. Promises were made when they go off to separate colleges, but sometimes promises aren't kept. When these two see each other at a friends wedding, Jack knows he needs to make Sadie his again. Problem is that time has passed and their goals are different. Jack is about climbing the corporate ladder in NY and Sadie is a up and coming artist in So-Cal. They aren't kids anymore and a traumatic experience for Sadie has left her skittish. She won't take Jack's call so he turns to desperate measures. He uses the new app from his client to message Sadie and pretend he is her long lost friend Dawn. What could possibly go wrong?! Jack and Sadie finally reconnect and secrets come out. Jack is never letting Sadie go again. They both feel that spark and know they were meant to be together. But, once again, their lives are different and Jack's secret is found out. (Yes, this why I didn't want to keep reading) This could be the end of the road for these two. Time and self reflection will tell. Of course being threatened by a UFL superstar is a good reason to figure out how to fix this. Cherry Blow Pops certainly are not working. (read the book). Of course I finished the book because I knew everything would be okay. The ultimate HEA.

JB Salsbury has an incredible way to draw you into her characters. If you have read the Fighting Series, you already feel like the unknown relative in this family. You want to help discipline Jack and give him a piece of your mind. She couldn't have written these two any better. Be ready to fall in love with Jack & Sadie. You can't help but not. Thank you JB Salsbury for writing such a beautiful story. Welcome to my Favorite Reads for 2019 list. I think I will just keep your name on it forever.

Lawdy, I love an excellent second-chance romance! And wowza, did I love Jack & Sadie.

Jack and Sadie have known each other their whole lives—loved each other from when they were old enough to realized that’s what their feelings were. And vowed to never stop.

Until life and distance got in the way.

And now Jack is back. But Sadie’s not quite on-board with rekindling their romance. She’s been in love with Jack forever, but she’s not quite sure forever is in their future. But Jack’s determined to show her.

And let the swoons begin.

I loved seeing grown up Sadie and Jack. Loved how hard they loved—and fought—each other. And I loved how their parents tried to stay neutral . . . oh, Blake and Jonah, you did try, I know. LOLOL

Jack & Sadie is a beautiful romance. One that will keep you smiling, swooning, and feeling the love long after you finish. ~ Missy, 5 stars

I have not read the Fighting series, so I had no frame of reference for the history here - but that didn't stop me from falling head-over-heels for Jack Daniels.

Talk about a steadfast, devoted hero. And while I did sometimes feel like i might have benefitted from having the perspective of their history, I loved getting to watch them find their way toward their happily-ever-after in this angstalicious second-chance romance. Don't get me wrong, there were times I wanted to shake some sense into them. Times I just really wanted them to get out of their own way. But ultimately, they gave me this sweet, swoony love story that completely satisfied and the ride was so so worth it.

Also? Ricky.

Scene-stealer extraordinaire and best friend on the planet. I loved the depth and lightness that Ricky added to this story. Some of my favorite scenes were his.

All-in-all? If you're a long time reader of Ms. Salsbury's, you're in for a delightful treat. If this is your first? Don't be afraid to dive in. While I feel like there is maybe an added richness to the story if you have the back-stories, Jack & Sadie still managed to hook my heart and keep me reading hungrily until the very end! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

I’m emotionally exhausted.

It’s not a bad thing, it really isn’t, but Jack and Sadie put me through the emotional ringer. Everything I expect to feel while reading a romance came out while reading this baby ~ and more, heaven help me, there was more ~ and even after taking a minute to breathe, I’m still feeling all they put me through.

Jack and Sadie. These two. I truly did like/love these two. I did. Both, at their very cores are good people with good hearts. They are passionate and when they are in, they are all in. But they also drove me batshit crazy at the same time. They both had their own..quirk about controlling the narrative of not only their lives, but others, and I really wanted to strip them of that control. But, even when my frustration with them hit, I couldn’t deny that they were people I would love to hang out with.

As for their journey to their HEA. It was sweet, swoon worthy, frustrating, heartbreaking as well as heart melting. The angst was real. They had a lot of issues to work through on a personal level as well as a couple, because regardless of everything they’d been through and put each other through, they were always connected. While I do put a lot of things that happened between them on Jack’s shoulders, I cannot dismiss the fact that Sadie also had a hand in it as well. The bumps were numerous...OH. SO. Numerous. But I cannot deny that I loved how everything turned out for them in the end.

I’m still dealing with the angsty-ness of Jack and Sadie’s story, but, as with the author’s other books, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. There are triggers, but are handled well and necessary to the development of the characters. As for the characters, they are all unique, flawed and relatable in one way or another ~ Ricky was my fav! And though I have not read the Fighting series, I wasn’t lost in any way and am crossing my toes that I can find time to get started on it since I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Jack and Sadie’s families.

WOW!!! This story was beautiful!!

I have loved all of the Fighting series books but Jonah, he was my very favorite! So to get his daughter's story, along with Blake's son, I was so excited for this book! And it was so much more than I expected it to be.

Sadie and Jack grew up loving each other. But it seems that isn't always enough. Life seemed to get in the way when Jack went off to college. And eventually Sadie gave up on waiting for something that seemed to get farther and farther away. And if that wasn't enough, life decided to really teach her a hard lesson. But she isn't her parent's daughter for nothing, and eventually she figures out how to take her life back. And just as that's all coming together, Jack shows up again.

Jack, or should I say JACKSON, Daniels, is Blake's son, and totally not what I expected! I was kind of disappointed in him in the beginning. In his eagerness to prove himself in the world he chose to live in he seemed to lose everything that his parents taught him, everything Sadie fell in love with. But when he ran into Sadie again he started remembering what made him feel alive, who he needed to be able to stop and breath again.

This is Jack & Sadie's story. And it isn't easy, it's kind of messy, but in the end it's EVERYTHING I've come to love from this author!!!

Jack and Sadie have been friends since they were born. They always loved each other, but when Jack goes away to college and Sadie stays behind in Las Vegas life gets busy for Jack as he’s studying, doing internships, and network His goal is to be successful so him and Sadie can have a comfortable future. The problem is Jack doesn’t realize he’s skipping visits with Sadie and driving a wedge between them. Years later Sadie and Jack cross paths at a lavish wedding that she’s working at and a wedding that he’s in. Jack has become a successful NY ad executive while Sadie has become a laid back art student in San Diego. This book is about them learning what is important in life and learning how to forgive and move on and come together. I loved this book and the characters. I also loved that Jack ends up in my hometown of Encinitas.

Wow.. I was anticipating a second chance romance. And it's all of that plus. I refuse to give spoilers in my review. What an emotional ride Jack and Sadie took. So glad I took that journey with them.

Emotionally heart-wrecking and heart-warming, Jack & Sadie's story pulls beauty out of pain and gifts a well-earned happily ever after.

Jack was a hard one for me at first because who he ended up growing up to be and some of the decisions he made was unexpected, and it took me a little bit to drop my preconceived ideas. Although when I dug deeper under the surface, Jack is still the Jack I expected - Blake Daniel's son who is a fighter, who has drive and determination, and doesn't give in easily, even as much as he had a few growing-up mistakes thrown in there. But in the end, he proved himself to be worthy of his Sadie's love and got himself back on track to chase down their forever dream together. I loved how much once Jack figured out Sadie had slipped through his fingers, he went all out to get her back in his arms (even as much as some things made me cringe and drove my anxiety through the roof).

Sadie is mine.
She always has been and she always will be.
Nothing will change that.
I won’t let it.

Sadie. That girl. Her side of the story broke my heart over and over again. But despite her feeling broken and lost, there was still an intense inner strength to her that gave her exactly what she needed to survive the storms and make her way through to the good stuff. I understood the choices she made and the ones she felt she had no choice but to go with, but man, I sure wanted to wrap her up tight in a hug and protect her (or allow her to allow others to lol) from the pain that accompanied them. But her strength also gave her exactly what she needed in the end.

I always feel safe with you, Jack.

When his hands are on me, I feel safe, cherished, and like I'm the only woman he's ever seen.

There was so much beauty in Jack and Sadie reconnecting as adults and figuring out just exactly what it was in life that was worthy of pursuit. And even through the pain dished out, the resulting beauty made it mean that much more.

Loved getting to see a few glimpses of Jonah and Raven, Blake and Layla, and I adore the love they showed for their kids, whether tough love or soft love. I wanted to revisit their stories as soon as I finished reading this book just so I didn't have to say goodbye quite yet (as their stories are some of my most favs from the Fighting series and it's been a while since I've visited them).

I wonder, did you and my dad go to the same school for overprotective and bossy men?

This book felt like the pretty bow to wrap up an adored gift (Jonah and Blake's stories) and is definitely one fans will not want to pass up.

I am so in love with Jack and Sadie!!!! I wish this could be a polished intelligent review but I'm so excited about this book I can barely get my thoughts together! Being the kids of Blake and Jonah from the Fighting series, these two had a lot to live up to and boy did they ever!!! From the first words, I was consumed by this story. I was helpless to do anything but devour each and every page. I needed more. I needed to see how this love story played out. And let me tell you I was NOT disappointed.

Sadie was a bit sheltered, protected and cherished by the men that loved her. It isn't until her world falls apart that she finds her true strength - her ability to rise up and find the courage to stand tall in the face of the those that hurt her and the ones that love her so much they'd cage her to protect her. She's inspiring and beautiful in her determination. She knows what she wants, knows what's important and she won't settle for anything less.

Jack is determined in his drive for success. Along the way, he forgets what's most important. It isn't until he again lays eyes on the girl that always held his heart that he begins to realize the life he's built is actually quite empty and meaningless.

Jack and Sadie's story is one of innocence and first love, heartbreak and lies, a forever-kind-of-love and finding the strength to overcome adversity. JB Salsbury has outdone herself with this book. I cannot scream loud enough that everyone should read it! Not only do we get an amazing love story that is both inspirational and heartwarming, but we get a glimpse at characters that stole our hearts (and still have them) years ago! Not to mention, being a child of the 80's myself, the music that drives this story is absolutely amazing!!! I cannot scream it loud enough- READ THIS BOOK! If you have not read the Fighting series, I highly recommend it as well! I have re-read these books so many times and Jack and Sadie will be added to that re-read list too!

I don't even know where to start with this one. I have so many feelings and they're all jumbled and fighting to be heard.

Jack, you swoony little romantic. When I met you as a kid I never would have guessed you would steal my heart all these years later, but I fell hard and fast for you. There were some growing pains along the way. You introduced me to Jackson and did everything you possibly could to make me like him. Your efforts weren't for nothing, I will admit there are a few things I liked. After all, he is a part of you. You needed to find him, to become him. You had to explore that side of you so that you could truly appreciate the life you had before him. He is part of the reason you are the man you have become. But Jack, don't do that shit again. Yeah?

Sadie girl! You are independent, resilient, and stronger than you even realize. My heart breaks for you. I wanted to wrap you in a hug and tell you all the reasons your beauty (inside and out) inspired me. But then you transformed. You became this kick ass girl that took control and and didn't look back. You gave your past the middle finger and grabbed onto your future with both hands. You let yourself love again. You kept a sense of humor and you learned to forgive. You bared your soul and let us see you vulnerable and broken and then you dusted off your pants and took you life back. I am in awe of you!

You guys, I loved this book. It was a delicate mix of heartbreak and love. It was a journey of bumps and obstacles, and a complicated but beautiful love story. I didn't realize how much I needed this story, but I am so glad that JB Salsbury decided to write it.

If you are fan of JB Salsbury’s Fighting Series this will be a treat for you. Sadie is Jonah's (Fighting for Flight) daughter and Jack is Blake's (Fighting to Forgive) son.

Jack & Sadie have loved each other their whole lives. The book opens with Jack heading off to College. They are both worried that 4 years apart will change them. It turns out that they were right. Fast forward and Jack is a successful Exec. Sadie is now living away from home and trying to finish her degree. They run into each other at a wedding and Sadie doesn’t want to see Jack. He thinks she is angry with him. It turns out that her reasons are much worse. Now that Jack has seen Sadie again, he doesn’t want to let her go.

Sadie has endured something horrible and just wants to be left alone. Jack is relentless in his pursuit. He has never stopped loving Sadie. His pursuit to have it all in his career caused him to forget what was important. Sadie has never stopped loving Jack. Unfortunately, the one time she tried to move on from him ended in a nightmare for her. Sadie is hurt and trying to get her life back.

I enjoyed this story. I did think Jack was a bit selfish and he was kind of hard to like. His mind was constantly focused on what he wanted, and he was ignoring what Sadie needed. I really liked Sadie and I especially liked that the author made her an artist that used that art to heal. It was also fun to revisit the characters from the Fighting Series, especially, Jonah and Blake’s banter.

I recieved an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What could be better than great a second chance romance? When we are talking about Sadie Slade and Jack Daniels! (Plus we get to see Jonah Slade and Blake Daniels in all of their bromance banter)

As usual with JB Salsbury, this book was amazing and gave me all the feels. My absolute favorite part was that it was just so relatable. This is not a story about falling in love with UFL fighter (that sadly is not something most can experience) like we got to read with their parents generation. This is a story about young lovers that life forced to grow apart, grow up and change, then try to grow back together. It was written in such a beautiful way. The characters are real. They have flaws. They will make you want to hug them and shake them and talk some sense in to them. But it just makes the book so much better.

If you are reading this review to see if you should add this book to your TBR pile. Do it. Definitely. Add it to the top. Read it immediately. If you havent read the fighting series you can still read this, but let me just say you are missing out. If you have not read Uncaged, I suggest reading that quick before starting this. (It is a quick read and will result in so many laughs and gives you the groundwork for this book)
