~ 5 Best Part of Me Stars ~
Fighting for Flight is still one of my ALL TIME favorite books by JB Salsbury, so when I heard she was writing a next generation book for Sadie and Jack, I couldn’t contain my excitement!!! I love when authors take us back into their characters lives with their kids.
Jack & Sadie is a story about first love, forgiveness, healing and second chances. This book is a friends to lovers second chance romance that I would recommend to all romance readers. I LOVED every word of this story. It was great being back in the Fighting Series world but also in a new world created for Jack and Sadie.
This book had all the feels you want in a 5 star read. I was laughing at times, crying at times, yelling (with threats of throwing my kindle) and falling in love too. There were also some really steamy scenes ;) This book is a standalone novel told in Dual POV. You don’t have to read the first two book of the Fighting Series to enjoy this book. Jack and Sadie story is completely separate from that series because they are now grown up and living on their own. We do see Jonah, Raven, Blake and Layla in this story, but they are there strictly as supporting character for Jack and Sadie.
As you can see this story follows the love story of Jack and Sadie. Jack is the son of Blake and Layla (Fighting to Forgive Book 2) and Sadie is the daughter of Jonah and Raven (Fighting for Flight Book 1). Sadie and Jack have literally known each other since they were born. Over time things changed for them and they became a couple. Each experiencing first love and planning their future together once college is over. To bad things don’t always go as planned when we are so young and immature. Fast forward 5 years and a chance reunion and Jack’s friend’s wedding, Jack sees Sadie again after not seeing her for close to 2 years. Jack is immediately entranced by Sadie again and is determined to get her back. Little does he know, she’s not the same Sadie he once knew and love. Sadie has lead a sheltered life growing up being protected by a overprotective dad, so when she was left behind by Jack, she wants to live life and moves to San Diego. There life has taught her some hard lessons. Will Jack be able to get his old Sadie back?? What happens when Sadie sees Jack has changed too?? Can they overcome their differences and find that forever love again?? Read this book to find out.
JB Salsbury’s books always suck me in and don’t let go until I am finished. I truly didn’t want Jack and Sadie’s book to end. I truly loved these two characters. Yes they both had their flaws, but that is what made them relatable. I thought this book was written flawlessly. JB took a serious subject matter and wrote it with poise and grace, but also got her point across. I know for a fact I will be reading this book again in the future. I actually want to go back now and reread Fighting for Flight.
If you are a fan of a friends to lovers, second chance romance then this is a book you should read. This will be going on my Best of 2019 list for sure!! Add this book to your TBR list NOW!!!
