really liked it
bookshelves: second-chance, grovel-redemption-big-time

** spoiler alert ** I absolutely loved this book.

I have read some of the original Flight series, though not all and this is a second generation story.

This is a second chance romance, one of my favourite genres but sometimes they really work and sometimes they really don't.

I found the circumstances these two break up realistic.

They are childhood sweethearts.
Their families know each other so they grew up together and they have always been for each other.
They both know that Jack has to go away to study and sort out his career for 4 years and the story starts with them preparing for that thinking nothing can come between them.
Jack finds the pressure offering successful in a dog eat dog world too much and he looses touch with Sadie, always intending to come back for her but finding that success is always pushing for more.
Sadie decides part way through the 4 years that she can't stay where she is waiting for Jack, her whole life being about Jack so she too starts to pursue her life.

This is really easy to see, although they love each other, they are very young to put their life on hold and you can see how distance and pressure of living away distracts.

The first chapter starts with Jack and Sadie running in to each other unexpectedly.

The only issue I had with the whole reunion was if he hadn t run into her nothing in their lives would have changed.
Jack sees her, becomes obsessed with connecting with her again , becomes distracted at work, all the things he abandoned Sadie for he abandons for her now, I found this a bit hard to understand as he is so obsessed with her before and after.

During the separation despite misunderstandings and misinterpretations neither have been with anyone else despite offers and the way things may appear to others.

Spoiler ******

The heroine tried to date after they broke up and was sexually assaulted. It's not detailed at the time of the attack but she does relate some details to Jack later and struggles with being intimate.

It is incredibly funny at times, the banter is hilarious esp as Jack gets himself in a situation with an app that's really good.

HEA.
Epilogue.

Secondary characters that could have possible future storylines developing through the series and updates of previous characters in other series by the author.

Really good read. Well deserved 4 stars.
