"I shall freely admit that I've been inspired to revisit Emily Dickinson (I last read some of her poems at university which fells like a lifetime ago) by the sheer brilliance of the outstanding TV series "Dickinson" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dickins... ).
Her poems sound fresh and - apart from some words - almost modern. I'm truly enjoying a lot of them a lot more than I expected. :-)"

"XXV (very much presumably to Sue...)
WILD nights! Wild nights!
Were I with thee,
Wild nights should be
Our luxury!
Futile the winds
To a heart in port,—
Done with the compass,
Done with the chart.
Rowing in Eden!
Ah! the sea!
Might I but moor
To-night in thee!"

After I had read Laird Koenig's "The Little Girl who lives down the Lane", I became curious iof Emily Dickinson and Sylvia Plath.
Dickinson's sharp eye puts other poets to shame. She is the supreme observer, chronicler or life, and uplifting as only the strong, the quietly strong, can be. Read on Wulf!
I would never have found out about Emily Dickinson if I wouldn't have read "The Little Girl who lives down the Lane" by Laird Koenig, my all-time favorite novel.
Her most beautiful poem is mentioned there (parts of it).
