Reverse (The Bittersweet Symphony Duet, #2)
by

Natalie + Easton
Please don't read this book if you haven't read DRIVE yet. REVERSE is about the children from the stars of the first book - you need to know all about what happened back then to really enjoy this second book!
As I said - this book is about the kids. Remember back in DRIVE, when Stella fell in love with not-yet-rock-star Reid? But things didn't work out because he wasn't ready for her. So she went and fell for her boss at the newspaper: Nate. They were happy for a long while, but Reid was always Stella's real love and in the end they got their happily ever after. And Nate was left heartbroken, but he found his happy end just a short while later too.
That's how this second generation got started.
Our heroine: Natalie. 22. Journalist. Working at her dad Nate's newspaper in Austin.
And our hero: Easton. 22. Soon-to-be-rock-super-star. Seattle. Son of Stella and Reid.
The story starts when Natalie's dad asks her to go through the archives to find important and interesting articles & snippets for their 30th anniversary edition. That's how she stumbles across private emails between her dad and famous music journalist and rock star wife Stella! Natalie is shocked and intrigued and so much more. Natalie and her dad have the best daughter and father relationship ever, but he never mentioned Stella before and Natalie wants to know more. She needs to know everything.
That's how she ends up in Seattle under false pretenses to interview Easton about his upcoming debut album - but she really only wants to find out what happened back then. Why the first love of her dad's life suddenly married a rock star!
Don't worry if it looks like I'm telling you the whole story - this book is a million pages long. We're only at the very beginning now.
But we already know that Natalie and Easton will get the same kind of epic love story their parents had. But will it be a happily ever after one? With their parents and their pasts? With the first meeting based on lies and blackmail? We'll find out! 😁

Phew. That was one effing long book!
I loved it! I'm the biggest rock star romance fan ever and this book was just soo long - uhm I mean beautiful. 😂
It was so rock stary, heartbreaking, sparky, funny, complicated, sweet, sad, ugh. All the things! But most of all it was so full of amazing music and talent and hope ...
Easton and Nat are so perfect for each other but it would be way too hard to find a happy life with their families, right? Nope! We'll fight for that happily ever after with all we've got! It might just take a tiny little while to get to that happy end.
I loved this book but I have a few buts as well. Many little ones and some bigger ones. First of all: the book was too long! I love long books and the more we get from our darlings - especially rock stars! - the better. But this was so super long. A few scenes or inner monologue moments should've been cut.
I don't know why, but I hated that Natalie didn't have a single clue about music in the beginning. How can you not care about music?? Maybe that could've been done a bit differently.
Then we get so many immature moments in this book - mostly with the older people though. I was so proud of Nat and Easton in the beginning! I thought they could make it - the way they're doing it now and planning their future. But then they too had so many immature moments. I just don't get the whole 'the past' problem at all. That's my problem with the whole story. Yes there's pain in their parents pasts, but they are the grown ups, they need to be grown up about the future of their children. That pissed me off so much. The whole book would've been half the pages if people were mature about things. We loved each other, we broke up, heartbroken, then we fell in love with other people. End of story. But pfff - it had to be written this way - otherwise there wouldn't have been a story at all. But there could've been. With Easton's amazing talent and some other drama moments, this story could've been an epic rock star love story without the parent part. But that's just my opinion - which I'm pretty sure I'm not expressing the way I want to - the way I had it written in my head. LOL!
Anyway. I loved this book so much. Easton is just the most amazing rock star ever! (Kellan Kyle will always be my number one, but Easton is getting really close!) And Natalie is so amazing too. Just a few moments of stupidity and immaturity for both of them - but we need some drama in our stories.
I loved the rock star moments the most. The singing, playing, the stage, the shows, Natalie standing there watching him. Perfect rock star romance content!
I wouldn't mind seeing this on tv one day!
What can I say - this was the most epic rock star love story of the year - or decade! READ IT!
