BEAUTIFUL...TRAGIC...PURE..DARK...INTENSE..PERFECTION


Wounded was far more gripping, dark, beautiful, captivating than i imagined it would be.

We are introduced to two characters who are in a very dark place in their lives.

Rania- Is a beautiful dark haired brown haired beauty, living in the war torn country of Iraq, she finds herself losing everyone she cares about: father,mother,aunt, uncle, brother. She is left to fend for herself, wandering the streets looking for food, water, shelter. Unfortunately she discovers at a young age, that the only way to do this..is to give away her body. And here is where the heartbreak really begins! The author unfolds her tragic life so beautifully, that you completely understand and sympathizes with the heroine's decision to either sell herself or die.


Hunter- Oh my Hunter! I LOVE YOU!!!!! He is a skilled, lethal Marine, enjoying his break with his best friend and fellow comrade since 7th grade Derek and his long time girlfriend Lanie since high school, whom he plans of proposing to, only to walk in to find his whole world collapsed! So he returns to Iraq for his last tour, heartbroken, alone and confused.


One dreadful afternoon in Iraq is where their lives collide and everything changes!

Rania doesn't know the look, touch, voice or feel of a gentle man. She has been shackled to live her life as an object, a thing to be used for the pleasures of men. Being haunted by her past, she makes a decision of compassion that changes her life forever. Hunt was fully expecting to die that afternoon, but he opens his eyes after a shower of bullets, to find this beauty staring down at him.


Not only are they in the middle of a war, but they have to overcome their language barrier(which reminded me of The Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley~AMAZING!!) and find themselves experiencing a beauty and innocence that they never believed existed.


Their scenes are intense, angsty, emotionally charged, seductive and beautiful. He helps her overcome her barrier over herself as only being worthy of being a "whore" with his beautiful love for her.The love, patience and tenderness he shows her is breathtaking! She shows him an innocence and a strength that he never saw before, and helps him heal his damaged broken heart. This was an absolute splendid, dark, twist love story told with heart, tragedy, love, hope...JUST AMAZING!!!
