L.E: Someone please spoil this book for me and especially the ending because I ain't reaing it anytime soon form the reviews I keep seeing.

Do we REALLY need Casteel's story from the FIRST book told NOW? After how many years? 3? Do we really need it? Why now? Just give us the last book already because this series got really exhausting because of Poppy and how overpowerd and annoying she has become... The first book from Cas' POV should've come years ago... just write the 5th books from both of their POVs we already know Cas...

MoodyReader2.0 This got a chuckle outta me. I agree with you.

message 2: by Erin (new)

Erin Homan So. Tired. I just want to know the ending so I can put the whole series behind me 🤣

message 3: by Bookaholic (new)

Bookaholic Exactly..this story is already dragged too much

message 4: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Paradis Poppy being op is super frustrating

message 5: by Chai (new)

Chai I agree with this wholeheartedly lol. My attention span is crying. I’m genuinely not gonna read this book if it’s just the first book being told in Casteel’s POV. I’ll pass!

message 6: by Jane (new) - added it

Jane GAD Maybe a little groul in there will help, 😆

Tbh we don't even need the rest of the books from Cas' POV... Should've just made it dual POV from the beginning and maybe the other books would have been more interesting (I honestly to God can't remember if the others are from his POV or not... I think the 4th was??? Maybe??? IDK. IT WAS TOO BORING!)

If you'll search Poppy's name in a dictionary you'll find her as the definition of "stupid and annoying"

LeAnna Haha try waiting over a decade for Midnight Sun. I’m definitely down for a Cas POV 😏

Omg I've read the LEKAS from Midnight Sun many years ago lmao. Then I got that book and still didn't read it :)))

romance_lover Facts it seems unnecessary

message 13: by MBks (new) - rated it 4 stars

MBks I’ve lost all I interest in Cas & Poppy. I just want to know how it ends so she can give me more Nyktos & Sera!! I can literally quote parts as I listen to them when I got to bed!! Plus I NEED to know how the Golden Fuck survived this….damn…..long

Stephanie B Agreed just wanted the story to continue on not a retelling. Disappointing. Hard to get thru due to reread.

Sbcurious I skipped alot, was definitely bored by the retelling. A novella would have been fine or wait until the series was completed. What new we got could easily have been a smaller chapter in the next book. That's what we should have gotten!

message 16: by Kate (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kate Speak for urself

message 17: by Multijeweled (new)

Multijeweled I’m reading it now and I’m struggling so I came here and found your review which is exactly what I’m feeling.

CCMason Thank you. This is exactly how I’m feeling. Just give us the ending and the answers please. I would gladly have read Cas POV after I knew the ending.

message 19: by Monica (new) - added it

Monica @kate lmao I am speaking for myself. And apparently for every other person who liked or replied to this review (that was published months before the book) with the same opinions 🤷🏻‍♀️

message 20: by Amy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Amy I really want to see what he was thinking when Poppy and Tawny were whispering, when she asked him "was anything real?" while she was in prison, many see it as unnecessary, but there are many of us who really expected it, also he is not just a pov, he is telling the version of him while he tries to wake her up because a primal war is coming

Tiffany Tropp Ya im extremely disappointed. Literally skipped all the chapters...

Alyssa Crook I have the hardest time getting into it, I hope this isn’t the whole book!!!

Laken I had such high hopes for this one. The fact that it’s just his POV of stuff is like UGH. Not spending my time on this. What page does she wake up? I could care less about his pov honestly. I don’t need a reminder of events. Cmon JLA, this is dumb.

Taylor Lichty *SPOILERS*

Beginning of book they locate Ires and Nektas takes him back home. Poppy falls into stasis. They take her to some safe place and Keiran and Cas watch over her while Cas tells her their story from his POV. Millicent and Malik show back up and say they've been hunting revenants. Cas and Malik have a bro to bro conversation. There's some weird secret about Shea that apparently Cas has not told Poppy. Revenant gets into the room and attacks her and Cas with a dagger made "from the bones of the Ancients". It incapacitates Cas but he then somehow shifts into a cave cat and kills the revenant. Keiran comes in and sees him and helps him shift back. She wakes up on the last page. Ends with her opening her "silver eyes". No knowledge of if she remembers or not. The end. No other plot progression.

Taylor Lichty @monica ^

Montana Wilson Ugh disappointing, and I’m starting to not like Kieran. I wish he had his own happy ending with another lady. Instead of being intertwined with Cas and Poppy. Definitely missing the OG cas/Hawke sand poppy

Taylor Lichty I need the Primal of Blood and Bone to be the end of the story. I can’t do this anymore 😂 I’m more annoyed with the constant level ups and secrets at this point than with the relationship.

Martha I was wondering what was going on so the whole book is cas’s pov. Sounds like the ending was a little bit like twilight just red eyes at the end substituted for Silver.

Tiffany Tropp Nailed it. I kinda wrote that same thing. .. I skipped everything until the end and then realized I should of DNF it..

Jocelyn I have the full spoilers in my review!

Melanie Small spoiler for those who say they won't read it, it is his pov, but there's more to it.

Ashlynn Satterwhite No kidding… don’t get me wrong, I liked learning his POV of it but I was expecting so much more and was just disappointed… I wanted more or Kieran, Poppy, and Cas but that didn’t happen…

I agree! Their friendship was so good at the beginning! Jennifer should've find him another love interest, and just let Cas and Poppy the way they were in the first two books...

Charon I would read it. I preordered and was disappointed at first but it’s really good. And it’s not simply the same thing retold there’s are a lot of new details and information coming from Cas that you can’t get from Poppy.

Morticia Seriously though this was the stupidest book I’ve ever read

Michaela Chandler It was nice, but nothing HAPPENED. I wanted more plot. Of course, I still devoured the book, and love Cas more now, but come on. HIT ME WITH THE NEXT ONE NOW PLEASE

Frances The fact that JA is making her readers wait two freaking years for any real plot progression is just insulting at this point.

Tatiiii me🙋‍♀️ i wanted his pov

message 41: by Denisa (new) - added it

Denisa We don't, there's nothing new. You can basically read just the last chapter in a bookstore. That said, I enjoyed it more than book 3 and 4.

message 42: by Tina (new) - rated it 2 stars

Tina Bettendorf Just read the chirat chapter and the last chapter. Those are the only things that actually progress the story. The rest is a retelling of from blood and ash.

That is PERFECT. That's exactly what I'll do lol

message 44: by Tony (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tony It's basically the first book told from Casteels point of view. She's in a deep sleep for the whole book and he's tell ing her there story so she will remember who she is when she wakes. The last sentence of the book she opens her eyes. And that's the book now I have to wait for the next.... oh and at some point Casteel can turn into one of those cave cats because she was attacked at the end and through there joining her power was transfered to him and he could use her powers change into that cave cat save her then she opens her eyes and the book is over

Elizabeth It was boring.

Carolinem The author said it’s important information for the next book.

Alicia Cas’ POV was far less annoying than poppy but this book was so useless lool. Only thing that happened is she went into her stasis and when she wakes up it’s a cliff hanger (so literally nothing happened) all that IS important is that they took Carsodonia and Cas can shift because of the joining so he can use her Ether.

message 48: by Amber (new) - rated it 1 star

Amber I found this to be an extremely frustrating read. I think I'm done with the series after this.

Lianne Yes agree this has been a frustrating read. I’m not sure I will continuing with the series.

message 50: by Amari (new)

Amari can someone please explain their opinion on the ending, like the last page? does this mean that she is kolis? or a child of kolis or something? feeling confused lol
