FIRST, ROWAN HAS MY HEART 💞😌

The most beautiful, heart-wrenching and truly dark book I've read so far

It was by far the roughest book I read. I was so close to dnf'ing it cz it was that dark. I felt every single emotion reading this book, except happiness.
Not only that, but I must warn you that this isn’t some sweet love story with hearts & flowers or a dark story of couples!. This is a dark & fucked up book.

It's a full journey of grief and horrible mistakes people make just to get some type of high in their system. It also shows that there are parts and people in this world that are worse. And they could be anyone around us, and we wouldn't even know.

Story line
A police psychologist is assigned to a murder investigation involving several people who were brutally slaughtered at a house party, but one girl survived, and the story begins at the police station.
After being assaulted, she was discovered in the upper bedroom, bound to a bed. She had no memories of the incident, thus the police were unable to proceed with their interrogation of her.

So, Justin, the psychologist, visits the young woman's house to speak with her about what happened that evening. The girl's name is Rainey Summer Day, and she lives by herself in a poor, disgusting area of the city.

She doesn't want to talk about the night so soon, not until she tells him the whole story about how her life got there, all her cruel journey.

Five years in the neighborhood (Clayton Heights).
Five older men that abused her as a kid.
Five neighbors.
Five victims at the party.
Five times she slept with Rowan.
but there's more to that, I can't say without spoiling it 🥺💝

Believe me when I say her journey was the most disturbing backstory I've ever read! I was so mad at Rainey for doing all this stuff to herself, the decisions she took just to get some drugs in her system. But ig she was immature, so I'll let that pass.
BUT still looking as men*gag* took advantage of her in every way possible, was just...no, I can't. I started to skip those scenes ifykyk cz it was soo messed up!

The ending was so beautiful in every way!😭 yes, I was crying crying. BUT THE PLOT TWIST UUFFF tbh I sort of guessed it but still it was perfect. 🥺💞

I would've stopped reading if it wasn't for that one person. I don't wanna spoil in any way possible but The way this man... even after everything she got through, EVEN knowing all those decisions she took, was just so wholesome and heart-warming 😭💔.
Now that my friends is called true love. So yeah, I could go around and around talk so much about Rainey's story. but this review is going to be so long 😭
