A fabulous romance which is not so much second chance, as sorting out mistakes from the past. Douglass is blindsided when, on her return home to take care of her beloved aunt, Natalie, discovers that her bf's brother is none other than the man she hates, Jordan! This kicks off the book dramatically and the details take a while to be fully revealed, though the impact of the fateful night years before have resonated down the years for Douglass. Her vile sister, Amelia, has caused her so much grief and pain, not least of all with the crush of her young, tender, innocent heart, Jordan himself.
Jordan is a sweetie. He has a huge fight on his hands to salvage any chance with Douglass and this makes for some great plot twists. I do think, however, that Amelia failed to get a thorough comeuppance for her complete horribleness!
