i don’t know if i’ll ever forgive ruby for making this poor, sweet, desperate-for-love alien wait years to find his true love, while watching his clan brothers, neighbors, and tribe all fall in love, one after the other. ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL. we couldn’t have let that particular agony go to m’tok? or a’tam?

this was a HELL of a spin-off series start, you guys.

everything i thought i knew about this planet has been shifted on its axis, with a buuuuunch of new characters — that you’ll recognize if you read the corsair brothers series first, particularly mathiras' book, which i have yet to finish…oops.

i can’t wait to see where this series goes, because the potential is HUGE. i need so, so much more information.

this is a 5 star book in the rubyverse, absolutely, but capping it at 4 here because it’s not necessarily 5 stars in the broader literary universe, ya know?

i know the next book is likely tia’s, which i’m excited about, but o ruby dixon, here my prayers, and give me skarr’s book SOON.
