To Love the Scars of a Duchess

Traditional regency in the countryside & London.
Gave this 3 stars.
Lady Dorothy "Dottie," when a girl, was caught in a fire
with her countess mother, who died. Beautiful Dorothy
had scars on her face and hands. Some people ran away
when they saw her. Dottie wore hats inside and outside
to partially cover her face.
Dottie & Lady Anne, cousins, felt close like sisters. Dottie,
her sire, Lord Forbes, & her brother all arrived in London
for Anne's wedding to good man Ralph. Anne's mom
perseverated on wealthy Ralph's non-peer status. Why
repetitive verbal digs?
Richard's mom pressured him to marry bold, selfish Lady
Sally, a childhood friend. Sally coveted his duke status. He
showed his disinterest in courting her, but she ignored
his words and hints.
Ralph & Richard were besties. When Richard met shy Dottie,
he caused a faux pas & apologized profusely. These MCs
genuinely became fond of each other.
An evil person demonstrated evilness & "faced the music."
The author needed more adherence to era rules IE 1st called
a woman a former duchess, rather than dowager duchess,
said Richard needed permission of the Crown on who he
could marry (huh?, this was not the middle ages) & claimed
a single couple who danced together twice in one evening
would be expected to announce their engagement (untrue).
Needed editing IE typos, words squashed together.
