My only complaint is that this book did not go on forever!
I am a new to Harmony Raine's writing. But, I can't resist a paranormal romance involving shifters and fainted mates. Having married an ex- special forces hunk who I believe is a secret bear shifter, I am especially obsessed with stories involving bear shifters finding their fated mate. "Daddy Bear" book one of Harmony Raines' Return to Bear Creek series, checked all those boxes for me.
"Daddy Bear" captured my heart from the very first page. I was disappointed when I got to the end for if it was up to me I would stay in Bear Creek forever. I love the way Harmony Raines depicted the small-town atmosphere of Bear Creek and the sense of community that prevailed. It was easy to relate to. The more I read, the more I began to have a deja vu feeling, as though I remembered my own sojourn in rural communities across the US. The townspeople became my own, equipped with the same gossip hot line and more importantly support only small-town town America provides. It is both annoying and comforting at the same time. Harmony Raines KNOWS small-towns.
Her characters were also fabulous! And as wonderfully crafted her main character's were, her support characters were just as well developed. Hanging out in Bear Creek was like hanging out in any rural community I had ever lived in! I laughed, I cried and ranted and raved as though I was a participant in a scene, not just a reader!
Like I alluded to in the beginning, my only complaint was that it ended too soon. I would live in Bear Creek forever! I am convinced other readers would too!
