I love, love, love Savannah Scotts rom-coms! Every single one I have read has been a hit and A Not so Fictional Fall from The Sweater Weather series is no exception. I haven't ever read a modern marriage of convenience story before and I really enjoyed this unique and fun premise. Not to mention a French main male character! This book was super sweet and swoony!
Pierre is a romance author who writes under a female pen name. Tasha is a bookstagramer excited to be going to an event to meet her favorite author. She is surprised to discover that “she” is really a “he,” the same very handsome he she saw in the hotel lobby earlier that day.
After she ends up saving Pierre from an aggressive fan following him around the hotel the two start to grow a friendship. Pierre is certainly not looking for love. As a matter of fact he has basically rejected love from his life, but when circumstances cause him to need an American wife Tasha seems to be just the right person for the job.
I loved watching Tasha and Pierre navigate their marriage of convenience. Savannah is such a fun and clever writer and this one was done so well. I laughed out loud and smiled so many times. And of course I swooned at all the super romantic scenes. We got treated to some great ones too! I loved the dual point of view so we could get in the heads of both Tasha and Pierre. I enjoyed the rules that were set up for them as part of the marriage, but the breaking of the rules was even better! The HEA was super amazing and such a joy to read! So perfect for Tasha and Pierre. You know it's good when you leave the book with a big smile but also some sadness because it's over.
Favorite moments -
Pierre and Tashas meet cute
Pierre’s reaction to American slang phrases - cheesy, you're not the boss of me, and the butt dial!
All the Bookstagram love - The friends meeting up in person and when Tasha says, “We aren’t strangers we connect everyday!”
Summer, Ben, and Cameron cameos!
Sleep talking
Rene!
Dating, Pierre’s proposal and the entire epilogue
Content awareness - Innuendo between a married couple
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
