This historical fiction debut has been getting lots of hype and while I did enjoy it, it did not blow me away. If you enjoy books like Outlawed by Anna North or well written Westerns with a touch of magical realism and very memorable characters, this is definitely one to give a try. Personally I thought it was longer than it needed to be and struggled to get as invested in the story as I had hoped.
