really liked it

I found this story captivating from the beginning because of the style in which it was written. I enjoyed feeling like Amelia was confiding in me, the reader.

Alex was one determined man; when he knew what he wanted, he didn’t let anything get in his way from attaining it. Amelia, to Alex, was his, and there wasn’t anything anyone could do about it—they certainly tried, though.

Amelia had such grit when she decided to take on a more active part in her father’s mafia organisation; she threw everything into it. Meeting Alex, Amelia was smitten straight away, and this feeling continued to grow throughout the story.

This fast-paced book had a plethora of action-packed scenes with loads of drama that, at times, made you wonder how things could possibly be resolved. There were quite a few moments where I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was to come… great stuff. Although I correctly guessed who the mystery traitor was in the story, it was cleverly plotted.

I am looking forward to book two, Crimson Fate.
