like nocticadia, this felt different from the fantasy i usually read and it’s so refreshing to switch it up. i was confused in the beginning, but when things started to click i became completely enthralled in the story and didn’t want to stop reading. realizing i just need to start picking up more dark, gothic fantasies.

my only issue with this as that the pacing felt off at times. sometimes it felt dragged out, and then the end felt like so much happened in less than 100 pages.
