Mulligan is hired to be the butler for an old man who claims to be a wizard.

What I enjoyed:
* I really liked the characters. Mulligan growing into his role as a butler. Joseph pretending to be senile in front of his niece while (view spoiler)[ desperately seeking a cure to his cursed amulet (hide spoiler)]
* The pace was very laid back but done in a way that I enjoyed it.
* Satisfying ending (view spoiler)[ very glad they found Barbara so the house will have a real caretaker once Joseph dies (hide spoiler)]

What could have been better:
* The book was longer than needed as we go into minute details of Mulligan's daily chores often.
